RIP Taylor. I do hope that Shane, his family, the band, and everyone else who knows him are finding peace as well. In case anyone missed it… Shane kisses his dad’s drum kit at 8:15. 😥 This video was emotionally taxing but I’m pretty proud of how it turned out. I hope you all enjoy it. 💜

I wasn't expecting to cry today. That was SO powerful! I've known this song since it came out but this was my first time seeing this performance. I never even knew about it. I think Taylor was looking down proudly at his boy, and good God did Shane kill it!!
I live in the UK, we were very touched that they chose to do the first tribute performance at Wembley. We do sing loud at concerts but it’s how we show support and highlights our love for music 🎵
The spiritual dynamics of this performance is virtually unparalleled. The circumstances, the "aww, how sweet" factor, then the fact that Shane did as good of a job playing the song as anyone could. Shane, if you read this comment, Im proud and inspired by you and please keep playing , and extremely please don't go down the path of drugs and alcohol. It's so tempting, but the strength you just showed would make your dad your biggest fan. Stay strong and thank you for the inspiration.

That was a beautiful tribute to Taylor Hawkins, and for his son to be there drumming his heart out was extra special. I started crying about 3 second intp it. Thank you so much for this, and for all your video's, i never get tired of watching them.
I remember the rage of being 17 years old and my father having just unalived himself. It was a sadness, but beneath that it was kind of like being in a deep hole that was filled with rage. I suffered in silence and like many children of parents who unalive themselves, it leaves its mark and I think about doing that act everyday (I mean in passing l, I know that I would never do that to my own children). I can’t imagine how cathartic and healing it could have been to just beat his rage into a drum kit.

@Michelle-vu3fe the difference is you are alive and I am guessing you do not have a huge fan base Yes addiction is horrible and ruins countless individuals and families But to elevate this man to hero status is a joke, he died alone from a self induced drug overdose,
It’s never been confirmed that it was an overdose. In fact, Chris Schifflet said it wasn’t what everyone was saying on the internet. There’s a difference between having drugs in your system and having too much of them. If you did a tox screen of my spouse, the urine test would show all of those except weed. You’re assuming that he ODed when it could’ve been what killed my uncle: a widow maker. Probably his early years contributed - eating disorder, hard drug use, over exercising.

Regardless of how you feel about addicts in general or Taylor Hawkins specifically... he is a hero to his son. His daughter. Wife. Dave Grohl and millions of fans. Anyone can become an addict to something self destructive that will take them in the end. It doesn't change their humanity to the people closest to them.
@@WonderMommaOG thank you for enlightening me, still this man died alone of a self induced drug overdose in a foreign country, plus not to let a sad moment go to waste his former band members parade out this mans son to play this memorial concert? Surely grieving fans paid out their tears for tickets, none of this should Garner hero status
I greatly appreciate your channel and have viewed your postings many many times I have the absolute respect for your creativity, thoughtfulness and hard work you do, your postings are some of the best on UA-cam without question. I mean no disrespect towards you or those who view your work.
We all have thoughts on many subjects and I find the hypocrisy of industry to glorify this man to hero status is sad.
Heros don't die overdosing alone in a foreign country
Heros are those who died on foreign lands protecting our right to have a conversation on this or any matter, yeah those are my heroes
@@williammoore841 Fair enough. Heroes have many faces and variables. Appreciate the kind words and the civil discussion. The latter are hard to find on the internet.
@Michelle-vu3fe the difference is you are alive and I am guessing you do not have a huge fan base
Yes addiction is horrible and ruins countless individuals and families
But to elevate this man to hero status is a joke, he died alone from a self induced drug overdose,
It’s never been confirmed that it was an overdose.
Amazing job. Thank you for the work you put into this. 🤘🏼🫶🏻
