What I love most about these videos is that if I just listen with audio it’s like I’m talking to an old friend. I can just sit back and relax. I hope you keep doing these. They’re nice and meditative.
Not the zoom in. Lmao. Hahaha love these videos though! I agree it's just like listening to a friend talk. It's like a podcast but more casual and relaxing.
This past Thanksgiving I decided to lose weight. Being 5’6” at 212 lbs was ridiculous and unhealthy. It’s May 4th now, 5 months later and, without working out at all, I am now down to 148 lbs. Lost over 60 lbs with intermittent fasting, portion control and will power. People that haven’t seen me since I started don’t recognize me. I’m looking good, feeling good and will start doing some at home body weight exercises to tone up and gain a little muscle. Never understood the whole “gym rat” mentality. When I was in my 20’s I was ripped and never went to a gym. 200 push-ups, 200 crunches and 200 dips 5-6 days a week with a hilly 8 mile rollerblade route every morning was my routine. Then kids happened, followed by a surgery that had me out of commission for 5 months and then the lockdown 7 months later……. My 145 lbs muscular body ballooned into a 212 lbs Santa Claus with brown hair. Biggest tip, stop putting it of till tomorrow, or next week, or after that wedding you’re going to…… If you are serious about losing weight, come up with a plan for yourself and start immediately. Don’t delay and stick to it. You won’t see the results immediately, but they will come with time. Push yourself and don’t give in to temptation. You can do it, I know you can…….
I lost like 5 pound just by cutting back on pop, Powerade, and late night snacks. I don't really need to lost the weight but i do want be healthy
Yeeeears ago you mentioned that cucumbers have like 10 calories in them and since then cucumbers with a little salt and pepper have been my go-to snack. Sometimes when I’m feeling a little spicy I mix it with some red chili crisp and it tastes reeeeeal good.
I love this honesty. I've been publishing videos like this (shot in my shed) every weekday for over 7 years. I have a super tiny audience, but I find that they have become my actual friends over the years because of how real it is. Seeing the real you is pretty great and inspiring!
I'm also on a weight loss journey right now, but I'm just trying to be mindful of my portion sizes and no snacking. I've lost 20lbs as of January so that's good, but I could probably do better. I might start using the app. Thanks!
Love the walk and talks. The crunching of the grass, bird calls, and casual conversation. ❤️
Hey Craig! I have a dog that grazes constantly, and I asked my vet about it. She said sometimes it's because they are missing something in their diet, but often they just like the taste or it helps them digest, kind of like when people eat salads before their entree course. Thanks for the walk and talk - I know I enjoy them!
Both my dogs are perfectly healthy and frickin' love grass! It's the only vegetable type thing one of them will eat. Dogs are funny creatures
I was gonna comment about this. My dog grazes a bunch, it's just something she does for fun. Perfectly normal and nothing to do with any health issues!
TBH I am a fan of this super-zoom approach and I say we make this a WheezyNews standard moving forward
Really enjoying the stream of consciousness style!
I’m a person who has a really hard time staying motivated. Watching your vids does help a bit. I think it has the same effect as body doubling. When you see someone else doing a task, you can’t help but also want to do that task.
I prefer the zoomed in video, it makes things so much more interesting! Me also thinks someone was looking for the most leaves to step on, props to that too, you were reading my mind but in the future! 🎶
I love these types of videos that are like this. Like others have stated, it is like I am listening to an old friend talk to me when I put the video on and do some other care tasks that I have to do.
Your house looks beautiful Craig ❤I really liked the wind chimes 😌
Hope you have a great week! Best for you, chyna and little ada!
for the record, walk and talk is like we're just chillin and hanging out together and it's great
Nature sounds are my favorite thing about these video. The moments where you think about what to say leaves room for nature to speak. Beautiful. Thank you for sharing your life and thoughts.
I am a subscriber, do not comment often, and am generally pretty nice 🙂
I love your regular videos. Always look forward to the laughs. Admittedly these videos are not my favorite but still enjoyable. I can listen and not actively watch for clips inserted, your funny facial expressions, or random dances.
Bunny is adorable.
Thanks for your content.
I first recognized you from Crash Course as the guy who always punched the eagle off the table! I loved your "performance" in that context, and it's so fun to see you here in a more candid style. I like your content and the thoughtful delivery. Keep creating!
I like all the types of videos 🤷♀️ I think that if somebody comes across as a genuine person who has wit and warmth and enthusiasm it’s going to be engaging to listen to them regardless of format. And you seem like a really good guy, Craig.
My dog likes to visit the salad bar on walks (aka chomp on leaves as we go). I think she just likes the taste and wants more leafy greens in her diet 😂
Old School WheezyNews videos like this were always my favourite.
I struggle to eat properly or at all some days. I'm on a medication that screws with your appetite, and I developed bad (disordered) habits as a teenager that have kind of stuck around. Weirdly, your weight loss videos encourage me to eat -- maybe because you talk about diet tracking in such a non-judgemental way. I'm never going to follow any of the calorie-counting advice because I know my brain is going to turn it into an unhealthy excuse not to eat, but I still like hearing about it! Thanks Wheezy!
Wow, I totally forgot about Story Not Story! I loved those stories. I can't wait to listen to the new one!
Yes! Setting a calorie goal and loosely sticking to it is also the best weight loss method I've found. My Father and I have been helping each other and In the past 6 months we've both lost 30 pounds. You don't have to be perfect every day, you just have to keep the goal in mind and get back on it when you see yourself not being honest. I don't like to measure my weight everyday personally - usually once a week. And a friendly reminder to everyone, it doesn't matter what you eat; If your calorie goal is 1000 you can eat a Cinnabon, but that's the only thing you're going to eat today. Be mindful of your habits and make sure you eat food you enjoy, drink water, and get plenty of rest.
@@RiceCake-ep9guFor an average height woman, 1000-1200 cals weight loss is not unusual. Really short women get it the worst at sub-1000 levels. It’s probably one of the reasons it seems men can lose weight so much easier- they simply can eat more and still lose weight.😅
Losing muscle when losing weight can’t really be helped, but you can gain it back quickly after done losing weight if desired.
Starvation mode does not mean what the average person thinks it means and is basically a myth; metabolism is adaptable.
I don’t know about the fat cell thing but it sounds a bit sus.
I think rebounding happens because people don’t change the eating habits that make them fat in the first place, which is pretty much what Wheezy is rambling about for most of the video.
But the fat cell thing makes a great sounding excuse hehe.
Also if you smoke weed it's going to make it harder because weed messes with your ability to break habits, I had to quit smoking weed first before I was able to change a lot of my habits (it's still kind of hard though, but I feel way better and thats what matters to me, also not everyone will need to quit weed for it, i just had to because my relationship with it was incredibly unhealthy and was actuslly keeping me from pursuing things i enjoyed anf career goals, that first week quitting weed sucked ass though but it was worth it lol)
This video was perfect timing. I woke up this morning ready to go back to calorie counting & exercise to focus on my health again. Everything you said resonated with me and is the camaraderie that I needed. Thanks for this.
Thank you Craig. I'm struggling with weight loss and this was good affirmation. Been watching since 2008. Much love.
Love ya Brother! We’re all just finding our way. I really appreciate your approach to sharing. I’m sure it was not intentional at first, but it’s a breath of fresh air now.
Big fan of the walk and talks (especially when we get to see your puppy dog). It's relaxing, and always wonderful to see Calm Craig come out (though wildin' out Craig is fun too).
Hello! Big fan of your videos. Wondering if you would be open to a 30 day carnivore way of eating challenge. It’s one of the many reasons I started following you is because y’all do some extreme challenges to be better and gain perspective. There’s so much anecdotal evidence around how carnivore has helped mental health, addictions and reduced inflammation in the body. The weight loss comes as an added bonus without having to pay too much attention to calories. This way of eating is gaining more attention because it’s hard to ignore the benefits.
That said, I know it’s different but you do different REALLY well. Thanks for your content!
Nice and extra intimate with the ZOOM. Happy accidents! Love the casual walk and chat with the occasional swing and bee and rabbit appearances. Keep it up as long as you like. We like whatever you upload cuz we just like you as you are✨
P.S. I have one of those acupressure mats and I call it my glorious bed of nails. I can do it shirtless for about 10 mins and it really does feel awful at first, then your back gets warm and numb - I listen to music or a podcast to distract from the initial prickly pain) and then my back feels loose as a goose. And I wanna take a nap. So yeah. Good luck with it!
I love this format, I am always looking for banter to put in the background of the things I do as I go about my day
wheezy some of the basic mental health tips I've gotten from you from this channel, so tanks a bunch. keep on keepin' on
Nice deck railing! I work for that manufacturer: Key-Link Railing. Cool to see it in the wild. Love your videos :)
The 20 thousand steps video is my favorite on the main channel because of all the walking and talking! I like to download UA-cam videos and podcasts to listen to while I’m hiking or working out, and ones like this feel like Craig is an old friend I’m going for a walk with.
Hey Craig. I like this style of video. It is perfect to have on when I am working on my project in my garage. It provides me with company and entertainment all at the same time. I also find it quite relaxing to listen to. The good thing is that I can play it on my TV in the shop. I don’t really have a way of playing Podcasts, so I just use UA-cam. Maybe when my project is done I will bring it over to show it to you.
Steve
That was up close and personal 🤣 So glad you took notice of my comment and made another chatty video, very sensible! I wasn't subscribed, but today I put that right :)
i love these walk and talk videos - it's like hanging out with a friend.
Just here to say I too love this style of video making a return to the channel. It is soothing and reminds me of walking and talking the sh*rt through with a friend.
Also thank you for uploading these to Spotify too for listening on the move. 🙏🏻
When u do talk and walks lol i just put it on and listen while cooking or baking of whatever… do whatever keeps you going my friend.
As you got into the first2, 3 minutes here, made me wanna hear your philosophy of this online culture of people attacking. You kind of touched on it a little... Beautiful day for a walk-and-talk. Hi from Canada, long-time subscriber p.s. Dogs aren't sick when they eat grass; it's a natural way to get fibre, and "sometimes" if they don't feel good it helps them throw up and feel better. Nothing major to worry about. 😏
it was a bit unsettling watching this video on my 22 inch desktop computer monitor randomly since i usually only watch youtube on my phone lmao great video and amazing tips, always love to hear from you craig!
Hope you will make a video about why reading is good for you, also maybe a challenge to do it more
I did! But I could do it again.
I reckon that anything that makes you think about what you're eating on a daily basis, is a great way to keep you focussed. Weight loss is fundamentally very simple - we make it complicated for ourselves really! Advice like this from a super-relatable guy like you Craig, is what we need more of :-)
Love your casual walk and talks!!
Really appreciate this video. Just love some honest opinions and takes about losing weight. I feel the same as you. I've tried so many exercises to lose weight but walking seems to be the best. For me. Also loved your thought process that some days you just need to not give a damn but also not let the scale dictate my feelings. Very rambly comment but appreciate this video so much. Watched your 20k steps a day because of this video and will try to aim for 10,000 every daymyself.
I’ve been using Lose It! as well, and intermittent fasting for the past month. I’ll usually get one or two hunger pangs before lunch, mainly when I do my morning walk. Then once I’m at work and I have my coffee and, well, work, to take my mind off of not eating, it gets a lot better. Sometimes I’ll drink some sparkling water for a little change of pace, even though apparently it causes an increase in Ghrelin, the hunger hormone. People will ask me why I go to the gym so much, assuming I’m going to say it’s to look good; but no, I always tell them it’s because I love to eat, so otherwise I’d just get fatter and fatter.
Thank you for talking about the Lose It app! I had been using Noom for a few months and decided to try Lose It, and I can say not only is the latter far better designed and user friendly, it costs a fraction of what Noom does for an annual subscription. As you described, calorie budgeting and daily weigh ins are the best way for me to meet my goals -- mainly because they are both part of the same thing: accountability and mindfulness. Also walking every day. That is also essential. Yay!
This was really enjoyable. Can you please share the recipe (or at least defined amounts) of what goes into the smoothie? Sounds yummy!
I have an acupressure mat. (not matt). I lay on it with no shirt. the first 2 minutes or so are painful but around 4-5 minutes I get a euphoric rush, kind of like a runners high. I love it, feels good for circulation and muscle relaxation too.
Great video. Dig the walk & talks. I do wish I had this last year when I did this journey, (lost 80 lbs!) but now I can 100% relate. Your suggestion about trying to not let a whole day explode just because you ate out once in a day is great advice. Giving yourself permission to bend without blowing up is great for your mental health. Willpower fatigue needs to be managed, too.
Love the walking and talking!!! ❤ Thank you!
Amazing video as always! Black beans and eggs go so well together. How do you prepare the black beans you eat daily?
I’m digging the intimacy of the zoom!!! 🤣
Great video! The accidental zoom worked like a charm. 👌 The leaf crinkling at the start of the video was soooo grating, tho! 😱
Just started back to the gym, with a different mindset. I walk/jog my 10k steps on the treadmill about 30 minutes or 2 miles going 4-5mph, then I do a group of exercises have a back and biceps, chest and triceps, then leg day. So it’s pretty awesome to have all your steps in by 930 am, then all your other steps the rest of the day are extra. It also makes me a different type of tired making me want to drink alcohol less. I also carry a Nalgene bottle everywhere (wide mouth bottles help), and by noon I have done drank 100+ oz of water. Food the beans and eggs work, also can’t wrong with a meat, carb, and vegetable. keep yogurt, hard boiled eggs, and cottage cheese around as a snack. Life hack taco seasoning makes bland chicken taste pretty good, with no extra calories. I also notice when I eat breakfast, and lunch I eat a smaller dinner which helps with a bunch of things, especially weight-loss. I have tried the 5 small meals thing but don’t know really what small means so I was non stop eating, doesn’t help.
I am a subscriber but I am not a sponsor, I love to see a person being real having joy and struggle, feeling that I'm sharing a time with you while I'm working or cooking. Hope it helps
I like to listen to these walk and talk sort of videos when I eat meals alone. Like sitting with a friend
I think the yo-yoing between consciously thinking about diet and reflecting on it as well as letting go and just eating is good. Obessing over it all the time can be really hard on the mind. Also, my dog used to eat grass just for extra ruffage as my vet explained it; self-regulating their diet - slightly older video so might not be useful info anymore haha!
i love the walk and talk style. especially the long form so i can work while listening ^_^
Loving these new WeezyWalker videos.
One of your videos from a while back turned me onto Lose It and had a lot of success. I also went back to it this month after taking the long winter off. This time, cutting out most alcohol.
I love the zoomed in video - matches the vibe
Ooh, I used to love Story Not Story, I'll have to go listen to the new episode!
Walk n talks with nature about you are excellent. Walk n talks on the road with cars going by are fine. Edited videos require watching (and are great). Walk n talks is a vibe. No watching necessary, just good vibes, bro.
I like the walk and talks 🙂 Reminds me of Wheezy Mondays. I loved those 🙂
I like your videos a lot and I enjoy the things you have to say. Thank you for posting! A lot of your insights help me get through my day ☺️
I am subscribed to the main channel but I love these walk and talk videos. Rachelle in Seattle
Getting in shape is just like running a UA-cam-channel: You have to have consistency and you have to know certain stuff about the «ins and outs» that work and don’t work - there is no shortcuts, and paying attention to details and refining things as you move along gives results. But instead of algorithms and editing tricks and retention you need to know about basic stuff like protein and fibers and calories and portion sizes and movement of the body - not really hard to learn, difficult to master, but the key to using all the knowledge is consistency :)
I listened to this video while eating lunch, I enjoyed it! :) Thank You!
Your walk and talks are good for my listen and drives 👍 I like that they’re a good length too!
I am a subscriber who didn't comment last time, but I liked the walk and talk last time and I like this one too! Just wanted you to know. :)
I'm indifferent to the walking, but happy you're back and talking to us more often.
Nice calming video. For me it’s the late night snacks that start to creep in that throw my weight off. When I reduce them then my weight creeps down again. I don’t stress about it just try to do the best I can.
I found that Intermittent fasting has helped me tremendously. I'm down 25 lbs and it's been the easiest "diet" that I've tried thus far. After the first month I don't even have to think about it anymore. I rarely feel really hungry or even bloated anymore. It has had a huge effect on the amount of food I need to eat to feel full too.
Such a great video!! Full of useful information
Love this and your last walking video and all the videos
My dogs eat/ate grass whenever they had an upset stomach. Was never a sign of serious illness. Though with one dog it was probably related to recently identified food allergies.
I'm diggin the walkin and talkin.
You have such a lovely house! ❤ And yes I really like these videos. Keep them coming 🙂
Heartfelt and interesting. I got a little dizzy with the camera so close to your face. Thanks for sharing your experience! Breakfast with eggs, beans, and salsa is so good. I add some avocado. PS - I'm getting seasick . . . good luck on your journey!
Really enjoyed this, thanks!
How does your arm not get tired. Tried to mimic you for a minute and couldn't lol
I agree, daily weighing helps manage expectations. If i weighed myself once a month or even once a week, I'd have high hopes and then ultimate disappointment, and then a treat fest! Once a day, i know what to expect. 😅😊
I think my dog looks forward to spring so he can eat the fresh green grass shoots 🌱😋
Walk and talk is great, 👍 just be careful not to move the camera around too much, too quickly. You had my head spinning 😅 ❤️
Bunny is one cute little goblin!❤
Enjoying the walk and talks!!
Needed some wheezy in my life
You could try a fiber target where you see if you can get +60g of fiber from whole foods each day. Or you could try to get +5g of fiber from three different foods at each meal. I bet if you did that you would lose weight without counting calories. Really just a different way to do the same thing :)
I’ve missed you Wheezy!
Your videos have always made me laugh out loud and I appreciate that. These more subdued chats are nice too!
My dogs always eat grass. The vet said as long as they aren't eating it to throw up that it's fine. They just like the taste.
So my dog also eats all the grass, so I've looked into it a little, and it seems like the going theory is that they eat grass just because they like it. Some dogs like it more than others. The ones that like it may prefer specific kinds (mine loves the tops of grown out bermuda grass). But yeah, they pretty much just do it because they like it, and it's fine.
I love the walk and talk!!!!
I love these videos, they are calming and nice to listen to. You usually post them during my mornings, so it's perfect to start a day with this vibe!
edit: Also, my dog usually eat grass to clean his stomach before food, but I think it's depends!
You had me at bunny. =)
Thanks Craig x
Love the walk & talk!!!
The walk and talks are cool. It feels more connective. Probably because it’s not edited and it’s just rambling
I don't mind the walk and talk format but of note -- motion sickness can be induced by too much of that spinning/moving stuff. In the first video it was less noticible because you walked longer in a straight line but this one had a LOT more spinning, moving, shifting, etc
Loving the walk and talk. 😃
I like variety. Thanks for the variety.
That's the closest we've seen of the beard since the early days of AlwaysWheezy!
