You should include regularly ignored lore concepts like how lobotomy corporation and library of ruina's gameplays are tied to the lore like Angela's repeating dialogues every reset (Asiyah realizations), Angela was forced to record and kill Benjamin because of his condition with TT2 and the facility (Abel's dialogues), the Library is a virtual space where everything is simulated and the librarians can never lose because when they do the stage is reset and the fight is simulated again and the guests also doesn't actually die they'll just be there in form of books that you you can simulate the battle and collect information/book copies as many times and anytime as you want (Hokma's dialogues), Angela made it so that during receptions librarians never will know that they can get revived so their emotions can be heightened (early game Angela's dialogues)
32:37 Fun fact, there is actually a system in place for unique boss dialogue in Limbus Company, and as far as Im aware its used only once. Specifically, you have to fight Chapter 3 Kromer with The One Who Shall Grip Sinclair. Doing so will stagger her on her first turn, and she will make one of a few possible comments about the situation. The speech bubble is the same as the LoR one, so when I first saw it on video I assumed it was supposed to be a meme, but its real.

29:48 Bloodbath theory of representing Carmen's oof attempt is referenced in his encyclopedia in LoboCorp, wich means the theory is actually correct. Another abno who reference lore in her encyclopedia is Snow Queen, wich talks about Angela's creation.
IIRC, since the Lob Corp main facility was made by using their singularity to manifest the buildings into reality, a lot of Ayin’s trauma ended up mixed in the well and that takes the form of many abnormalities. Pretty much every abnormality with italicized lore can be related to Ayin’s traumas.
For example, Notes from a crazed researcher was Ayin trying to complete Carmen’s goals.
Another theory says Censored is Ayin’s forgotten traumas after becoming X (in other words, a physical manifestation of amnestics)

I think the reason for Sephirah names being different (Hokma/Chockmah, Hesed/Chesed, Tiphareth/Tiphereth, Gevura/Geburah) is that they're all different translations of the words from Hebrew to old English and then finally modern English since the translated names are written-out versions of how the words sound like.
For example, Hokma in Spanish is written as Jojmá, Chesed as Jesed, Tiphereth as Tiféret, Netzach as Netsaj, and Malkuth as Maljut. Keep in mind the J in Spanish.
P.S. "Da'at" (which means Knowledge) represents the combination of all the sefirot's traits, and if you flip the kabbalah tree upside down you'll find out the cogito tank holding Carmen during day 50 is located in that spot.

@@DinoDave935 Some small clarifications I forgot because All my homies hate proofreading:
- In the spanish translation for lobcorp (and I assume ruina) the characters keep their english names. The spanish example was just to show that the hebrew words have multiple interpretations.
- I left out an important part of the message that clarified the "J" in spanish sounds like the H in Hokma, so spanish Chesed would sound like "Hesed"
- On the topic of the best coffee guy ever: Chesed in Lobcorp Legacy had an "H" on his armband, indicating his original name was going to be Hesed.
@@DinoDave935Affirmative. Since original names come from hebrew, many different sources transcribe it differently - especially that not all hebrew sounds have direct localisation.
For example ive ran into "Gevura" instead of Gebura, Hesõd, or Chokmah and Tipharet (in ffxiv). In some versions Da'at doesnt exist on tree, in some languages malkuth is spelled so alien it hurts.
I liked to pronounce them as close to original, so to me there is no "ch" in Hesed.
There is additional roadblock of certain sounds, like ph and f being absent from korean, making this game of tag even more awkward.

I like to imagine Censored isn't actually so gruesome it makes even the mightiest people go insane, but rather it's got a mildly terrifying appearance (like a deformed flesh horse, nothing there style) but he has the power to make anyone go insane by just looking, hearing, smelling or touching him. Sort of like the SCP that's a completely normal little girl that makes anyone who sees her have an unfightable urge to kill her, or the one that cannot be described with words, text, or images because it will take them (or the person who said the info) away.
There's a very excellent theory that Censored is the Smoke monster from Library of Ruina. There's a video, Uncensoring Censored, that goes into detail but the TLDW is basically that, the Smoke Monster was extremely deeply ingrained into Ayin's mind as was extremely deeply connected to so many major events of Ayin's past. As a result, when Ayin had to wipe his memories for the Seed of Light project, it was a major issue because just seeing it was enough to force the suppressed memories to the surface, ruining the project. While the Smoke Monster is absolutely horrific to look at for our workers, thus the sanity gimick, the reason it has to be censored is because if it isn't, Ayin will get his memories back and the project needs to be reset yet again.
@@Late0NightPC I've heard it before, and unless it's confirmed by project moon, I'd rather to stick to my own interpretation of censored because of a few reasons:
- If Roland's form is any indication, the smoke monster was a huge, fat, smoldering creature that (I think, I don't remember the conversation well) was buried deep underground. I can't reconcile that with the thin, horse-like appearance of Censored's breaching form clearly meant for being on land, nor the fact he can fit into a containment chamber.
- LV5 employees view stuff like the mountain of smiling bodies, nothing there and blue star on a regular basis and remain completely relaxed. I can't imagine the smoke monster is somehow more mentally damaging than a massive pile of rotting corpses (the smell alone would make you throw up) or a mind-altering godlike being.
- The librarians don't freak out upon seeing Roland's smoke monster form at all. Considering the countless time loops there's no way not even a single employee did not flinch at seeing something that looks exactly like Censored. Remember, their ability to cause fear is at the same level of WhiteNight's.
- The smoke war flooded a massive portion of the city with smoke. Censored doesn't ever produce any, not even when it's mating, or inside its chamber.
EDIT: If anyone's brought any of these points up in the uncensoring censored video, or if the guy debunks these arguments directly inside it, let me know so I can give it a watch.
Pretty sure CENSORED itself was meant to be a jab at how some particularly bad SCP writers would just redact and black bar the SHIT out of their articles, but overall the abnormality may not actually be horrific in appearance, it could be the VERY EMBODIMENT OF HORROR.

Due to legal resons we wont "see" backer abnormalities. Likely will see only abberations that can be avoided as problems.
If I remember correctly Salt, Pepper, Birds and Thought Police wasn't made for LoR, but was a tribute to the game to tie the album off, but that's just my foggy memory. What I do know, however, is that the song is about another Korean poet. Yun Dong-ju, and his experience going into Japan for University, only to be arrested for 'Anti-Japanese movements'. He was most likely a victim of experimentation while locked up, the infamous Unit 731 active at this time, and later died (Read: Killed) while still captive. His poems were later collected in Sky, Wind, Star, and Poem and published.
Also, doesn't 'Sky, Wind, Star, and Poem' have a familiar ring to it? 'Book, Librarian, Star, and City'?
Since I'm talking Korean poets, Yi Sang's short story, The Wings, is a great read and I really recommend it! It deepened the impact of out Yi Sang's chapter for me, but it also stands on it's own! I read all of the books for each of the Sinners in prep for Limbus, except for Hong Lu's, and it was one of my favorites!
I don't get much of a chance to read nowadays, and I'm trying to speedread Moby Dick before next month. But I'll check it out, thanks.
Also yes SPBaTP (wow that's a silly acronym) wasnt based on anyone in ruina, and was based on that poet but it was still in the album so idk what's up with that
To add on to this,
Yun Dongju was ashamed that he couldn't help his fellow korean people that were getting slaughtered and arrested for screaming out for liberation, he was very embarrassed that he was scared to help.
Result of that lead to him writting his poems, as most of his poems were about how he is ashamed and embarrassed of himself, he used child-like grammars and word choices, showing how he thinks himself as a child that can't do anything. "Salt, Pepper, Bird, and Thought Police" directly copies this style and lyrics basically explains Yun Dong-ju's entire life.

A few things that I thought were neat and could've been mentioned:
-Lobotomy Corporation Line stickers. A series of stickers featuring the Sephirot, Angela, and Myo that were made for Line.
-Lobotomy Corp concept art. I spent awhile searching for this again but I can't find it for the life of me. Project Moon were once selling looks at behind the scenes art for Lobocorp not available in the artbook, with the website showing a picture of concept Angela which featured her wearing a beret with the company logo. REALLY wish I could find this again but either way payments didn't work on the site last I saw it and I'm sure this stuff is unfortunately lost to time.
-That old Roland is a Claw theory from the early Ruina days.
-The well known Lobotomeme Corporation UA-cam video that's defined a lot of the older jokes in the community.
-Not saying this should've been included but consider me impressed that there were zero Hokma balls jokes made.

As someone who pronounces the purple tear as "the purple tier," there are in fact 'tears' falling from my eyes as you invalidate my identity, dave.
The purple tear debate's really only a problem in English. In the original Korean text, the purple tear is written as "보라눈물", "눈물" (nunmul) specifically translating to "teardrop". It's not pronounced like "tier" or anything, but the word directly translates as the tears that fall from your eyes. Similarly, in Chinese she is the "堇紫泪滴", while in Japanese she is the "紫の涙", with both "lei di" and "namida" translating to teardrop.
There is a lot to say about Welch's as it's implementation in the game is due to a creepypasta where if you drink an opened can of Welch's it had a good chanced to be spiked and you would woke up as a slave on a fishing boat.
The button is also based on a creepypasta.

16:09 Da'at is an interesting one. Most of the time Da'at is all of the Sephiroth in their highest form which may connect it to Carmen who became a part of the light but sometimes Da'at can be there instead of Kether(Carmen and Ayin connection) and this time as a Sephiroth Da'at symbolizes the connection between God and Human in body, mind and in actions. Also by the one of more new classification Binah Chokhmah(Hokma) and Da'at symbolize aspects of human mind. In simple words Binah is learning, Chokhmah(Hokma) is memory and Da'at is remembring.

Sinclair is also a based off his own author. As his book was originally printed with the author Sinclair as a pen name.

If you were wondering, Da'at doesn't really appear in LoR, but it's that bonus secret department with Carmen's Brainstem in the last day of LoboCo, so I guess Angela wouldn't entirely be inaccurate there. The entire Tree of Life is meant to represent that channels that the "infinite-ness" of God flows down and forms all of reality, with each sephira being some step in that process as the energy turns from pure and unlimited potential down into an understandable and definable "thing".
Keter is the "Crown" and as I understand it, is basically the point at which that "pure infiniteness" first begins entering the lesser realms and becoming "something" rather than "everything". It's basically defined by the fact it can't be defined, because what it is is so beyond us mere mortals that we can't ever hope to comprehend it fully, so it's sometimes called Ayin/Nothing, because it is so beyond our understanding that we can only know nothing.
Da'at sometimes takes Keter's place, but most of the time it represents all of the other Sephira together working in unison perfectly. Unlike Keter which is "the start of "everything" becoming "a specific something"", Da'at is the entire process including both the "everything" of the pure energy and also the final clearly defined thing it becomes once it finishes passing through Malkuth, as well as the opposite, of human understanding leaving behind it's restrained human-understanding of things in Malkuth and passing back upwards, losing individuality and humanity until it comes to be one with God's infinite-ness again by moving up through Keter.
The while tree of life is complicate as hell... It's fun to look into if you like philopshy stuff, but god damn if it doesn't break your brain sometimes...
I wanted to mention at 15:20, a lot of the pronunciations are actually a lot closer than you may have realized. Like Keter and Da'at, "Keter" and "da'at" is how it's pronounced even if it's spell with th, as in old words spelled with the modern alphabet, "th" would be pronounced as "teh", with stuff like the Egyptian god of knowledge Thoth being pronounced like "tote" bags. Yesod is the same, as while it uses a J in some spellings, it's that weird "J but actually Y" you see in some other languages, especially with Jesus' name. Hohkma is similar, with the Ch being a sound we don't really use in english, but being a sound made in the upper-back of the throat, like a K sound but a little further back and without the tongue completely close off your mouth.
The ones that are genuinely different are Gebura and Netzach. Gebura is more like Gevura, with a V, and Netzach doesn't end in a hard ch but a softer softer version of the Hokhma CH sound, making it sound more like Netzakh. Plus, Malkuth, as unlike Keter and Da'at, she kept the th sound despite it being prounced as a T, so she would be like how the VA actually pronounces it, Malkut, like cut but with a different U sound.
That was a bit of a long read but I appreciate the detailed explanation thank you.
Also I hope I didn't pronounce any of them wrong, I always see people pronouncing sephirah names wrong and I always thought mine were right so I hope I wasnt being a hyprocrite.
@@DinoDave935 Ah no, don't worry about it. I just mentioned it as, when you brought up them being based on the Kabbahla tree of life, you mention that "Why they were changed beats me". Rather than the name itself being changed, it's more that their spellings were just modernized, like Hohkma getting rid of the C since modern english has Ch being a very distinct and different sound, while just H is far closer. I definitely would rather we not use a spelling that risks "Cock-ma" popping up as a nickname for him...
As long as a pronunciation is "good enough" that we can all tell what you refer to, and an "imperfect" pronunciation isn't going to start offending someone, I really don't care for "technically wrong" pronunciations. Whether it's Gebura or Gevura, it's clear who that name refers to, so which one is used doesn't really matter to me.
Considering how we’ve stepped up to Urban Plague IDs in Limbus, I wonder how PM will go from here. I also wonder if they’ll put Dante as an active combatant in the fights or just leave him as the PoV character.
i really hope Vergilius becomes playable, i feel like everything is leading towards him having a more active role in the future but i dont know how it would work because i highly doubt he would need IDs and Egos since he has his own.

Iori's color name is the purple tear(the sadness liquid) because both the japanese and korean versions of her name refer to it as such
Also probably because it's stated several times that she mourns the loss of her son and wants to get him back and that being a big part of her motivation which would explain why that'd be her colour name. Besides Iori doesn't even tear up holes in reality, she can just shift herself and at times others but she's never shown as actually tearing holes through spacetime like claws do for example. Her abilities also seem much more powerful than serum w for example since she can literally warp to alternate dimensions and shit.

Since her main gimmick during the receptions was a shift to the different floor in the middle of the fight, she could just shifted from "main game" dimension(let's call it "Point Y") to the different dimension("point Z"), while Purple Tear from the alternate dimension(Either Point X or Point Z) took her original place.
For example, the player(in the point Y) choose Gebura floor for her reception. But in alternate reality(Point X) the player used Kether Floor for the reception. In the middle of the battle, Iori from point Y runs off to a different reality to increase her chances of winning(to the point X or point Z). She teleports from Gebura floor from point Y to the Gebura floor in point X\Z. And at the same time Iori from the point X making the SAME jump. But this time, from the Kether floor in point X to the Kether Floor in point Y. Which means, we fighting a different version of Iori from different dimension. That would also explain why Purple Tear fight force the player to immediately fight Iori after she shifted: she just fought that same floor and continuing the battle with the floor she was greeted with in the beginning, but it's a different story for our perspective and she just jumps suddenly to kill a different floor.

If the cut abnormalities that never made it in to lobotomy corporation don't make it to Limbus company, the one hope I have is that they make it into the planned open world Project Moon game as starter egos or a sort of half distortion form that's usable for a limited time like the yokai shift ability in Nioh 2. I can honestly see Norinori alongside Rope and Cord as fragile Egos that start off weak but get strong as time goes on like sticking with a longsword in Dark Souls while Jangsan Tiger and Puss in Boots become a distorted form that you acquire based on a self revelation you come across based on what actions you did or what companions and new hires in your gang or fixer group got killed.
Funfact: PM lore specialists have found that, in spite of how deep the lore goes, it's still far less deep than yo mama.

There is also the fact that the more levels your Employees have in LC the closer to a Abnormality it they become.
With the combination of EGO gifts and stats you can see them becoming Abnormalities in there dialogue as they level up especially with their panic texts.

Okk so not to nitpick (is absolutely going to nitpick) but here are some clarifications:
1. Backer abnormalities have in fact appeared beyond LobCorp (or at least aberrations of them) as backwards clock has appeared in limbus as Steam Transport Machine
2. The Sephira have many different spellings in Romanized forms, and though they have specific pronunciations in Hebrew, these are not apparent in English. Because of this, even within PM, there are multiple pronunciations for their names (Such as the Ch in Chesed being pronounced as H in Korean but K in Japanese)
3. The Purple Tear is in fact tear as crying, though for a long time I thought it was the other (And yes it is a lot less cool)
4. Bloodbath does not represent death, but rather alienation from the self, to the point where one would be willing to treat themselves like a slab of meat (this is referenced in the abno log), and this theme is further carried by the Snow Queen, which represents an inability to feel emotion (though it is implied that the Snow Queen is actually derived from Ayin's regret about keeping Carmen alive)
5. The Da'at is not Angela, but rather the Well. In LobCorp it is the room that is directly above Keter, though it is unclear if there was a Da'at in the Library (It could have been the Central room where Angela resides or potentially the void that Carmen lives in)
12:00 The original name for Limbus Company was Lobotomy Corp Branch, this is why the game is always abbreviated as LCB, there was a mock-up logo for the game posted on Christmas of 2020 on Project Moon’s twitter account.
32:52 I like to point out that the original ending wasn't the reverberation ensemble reception but the release version of the head reception and 3 main reasons for the backlash were:
1. In the reception of the head, Zena said that Angela was a threat to the city, even before she was created in the outskirts and, the main reason why Garrion was sent to the laboratory, that being a big retcon of the plot of lobcorp.
2. The post-credits cutscene with Iori being too "on the nose" about being a plot hook for a next game, keep in mind that we already knew that Limbus or LCB as it was known around that time was in development.
3. That the keter floor was the only floor without a realization, meaning that it only had 4 sets of abno pages and no E.G.O's, I don't remember if modding support was announced around that time or not.
Also, the backlash was mostly from the Chinese player base.
The Chinese gamers are great at doing this stuff. Look at how they (rightfully) butchered OW2 on Steam.
The reason Yi Sang is named after the author is because his book: The Wings is written in first person where the main character only refers to himself as "I"
Distortion Detective game was always said to be planned for after the conclusion of Limbus Company's story. That being said, I would also pay good money for a Charles' Office "prequel" game.
Backward Clock was a backer abnormality and it got an aberration in Limbus, they're not certain to be Forever Gone. It's possible we see more things like that in the future, though they do like to make more new abnormalities (and aberrations) these days instead of bringing back old ones, which is perfectly understandable. And not to defend Melting Love (people make it much hornier than it needs to be, what's new in the PM fandom) but the abnormality story is actually kind of fire. All the backers have some pretty awesome stories, Clouded Monk's is easily one of my favorites in the whole game.
God seeing footage of Lob Corp elevators being elevators and not teleporting nuggets is so wild.
Gebura also has special dialogue when she's put into the fixer line receptions of SotC, Red Mist (go figure) and Purple Tear. Thanks to that dialogue we know that Kali was an underling of Iori back before the events of Lob Corp (and that Iori and Binah also know each other). With this information we know that every color fixer we have been introduced to except the Vermilion Cross (due to lack of information) has history with Iori. Vergilius being the only one of those that as far as I'm aware, was not explicitly taught by Iori. Argalia, Angelica, and Kali all learned under Iori while Roland, despite not being an actual color and only fulfills that role for the purposes of Ruina's story via effective impersonation, got help from her as well.
Not much to add feedback wise, just a great vid that was an interesting watch, excited to see more long form content like this in the future 🙏👍 maybe a video about the abnormalities themselves, like with the censored bit, they’re all beaming with detail which I think would make an interesting analysis vid, regardless, keep doing what you’re passionate doing 💪

For the Donation Abnos, I can at least say that the possibility of them making a comeback is a bit more likely than in LoR, since we have the Steam Transport Machine, whose design and gimmick is based on, and technically makes it an Aberration of the Backwards Clock, a Donation Abnormality.
Also, like I kind of said, Wonderlab IS referenced in the games, just not directly. While the term is never used, it's pretty obvious that, with the amount of new Abnormalities that reference other, previous Abnormalities, that Project Moon decided to make more use of the concept of Aberrations, which were first introduced in Wonderlab, and are (usually weaker) variants of existing Abnormalities.
Outside of that, I'm enjoying the video so far, and will keep watching it when I'm not busy.

When I told that to a friend who I've been talking to about Pmoon for a while he felt incredibly disappointed. He's a massive fan of DD1 and 2, he thinks pmoon's lore is interesting, but he isn't interested in lobcorp or ruina. He said that if they actually had gone through that route he would've absolutely bought the game.

I feel they removed it because of the cognito-filter lore and the fact it doesn't really make sense for it to happen.
I mean they literally censored the segment of silent orchestra's performance that deals white damage, so they're clearly committed to keeping the manager sane.
Arguably it's more immersive and creepy when you can't see her face at all, but can watch your nuggets go insane witnessing it.

Someone decided to take those photos and make them into an emoticon pack, and it blew up in popularity on DCInside, incentivizing people to draw their own emoticons with characters taking the place of the cats. Kyaru, being a traitor and a cat, was definitely most popular of them all.

Backwards Clock is a backer abnormality. Steam Transport Robot is clearly an aberration of Backwards Clock. If you wanted to talk about an entirely ignored class of abnormalities, you should've gone for the Translator Abnormalities- Void Dream, Firebird, Grave of Cherry Blossoms, Yin and Yang. PM has yet to even REFERENCE them outside of LC itself.

Fair points, just a thing I wish creators did more often is stay in closer contact to more versed folks to make sure they're sure of what they are talking about. Still, it was pretty hilarious to see you asking about Love Corp in the VC. Just there's a few other things that could've been mentioned, like mentioning the Q&A interviews, some of JiHoon's comments in the Project Moon Community Hub (like him posting the obelisk from 2001 Space Oddyssey in general chat the moment people started talking about him) and maybe like how you mentioned Legacy Lob Corp was different, Legacy Ruina was a whole 'nother story, with key page leveling and all sorts of wacky mechanics.
Video's still damn good, just felt like some of the entries were a tad bit superficial and some other stuff was missing entirely. Also Bongbong didn't get her own dedicated entry which is lowkey criminal.

About 22:10 Theme 02 as credits song, it was removed because of korean community raged on it as inappropriate song for finale, and it really isn't true because true ending is kinda Marie Sue type of good end so fun music will play with it along pretty well. But here we are, this banger isn't in the game even and it won't come back because last patch for LoR is like 3 years ago.

First, we got the Reverb Ensemble, after which the Library was left in that state with a visible background and ominous background droning- but that wasn't "the ending". Then, we got the Reception of the Black Silence, which was its own update- and STILL not the ending unto itself. Then, we got the Distorted Reverberation Ensemble and the Reception of the Head as one update, which constituted the original ending. What they added in post was the Keter Realization, and some shuffling around of the events of the Reception of the Head, and the removal of a post-credits scene. At no point was the ending just "you killed Argalia", the Library being expelled was ALWAYS part of the ending.
The backlash came primarily from China, because they misread a post-credits scene in which the Purple Tear was petitioning to create her own Association as Project Moon demanding money.
