No doubt. The Top 5 guitarists who have influenced my style are, in no particular order: 1.Mark Knopfler 2. David Gilmour 3. Lindsey Buckingham 4. Just back 5.Buck Dharma
He uses a technique called Travis picking, which is usually used in acoustic folk music but he uses it in a rock setting. He plays a bassline on the lower strings with his thumb and then plays the melody on the higher strings with his fingers, meaning he's having to keep track of two different sets of timing at the same time. He's ridiculously good at it 😋
When people think of "Best Guitarists" people like Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmy Paige or Jimi Hendrix often come to mind. Nobody ever think of Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac but I'd easily put him in the top 10 of all time Guitarists. He does not use a pick like most guitarists do, he plays with his fingers.
There are some songs where Lindsey plays two and three parts simultaneously, plus he sings too. His dexterity is incredible. Check out "Big Love" from the same concert. If you just listen, you'll think it's three guitars and a vocalist, but no, it's just Lindsey.
Lindsey Buckingham is a rare talent. Self taught. Like most great guitarist when you hear a few notes you instantly know sound like the artist song I'm playing. Lindsey plays a lot of finger picking very hard on the nerves in your hands most have carpal tunnel. And many surgeries over the years. I had 2 myself I can't even play anymore without severe pain. But the greats like Lindsey has learned how to play without damaging there hands so much. Sorta like how a great singer has techniques not to harm there vocal chords. Lindsey Buckingham is one of my favorites. And so are you Maddie you see and hear things most people don't notice like Lindsey playing the bass line with the basset and playing lead at the same time ❤
The spotlight is squarely on the great Lindsey Buckingham and for good reason, amazing how he plays and sounds. A huge shout out to a legendary rhythm section in John McVie on bass and the outgoing Mick Fleetwood on drums, they have been great together since drumming for John Mayall in the 60s, then forming Fleetwood Mac in the late 60s. There are several eras of that great band, all are a bit different but all worth listening to. Try Hypnotized from when Bob Welch and Christine McVie fronted the band. Great song, Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
Such a group of incredibly talented musicians. I believe that the drummer was the glue that held this band together though many changes and over many years.
No dear Maddie, Lindsey Buckingham is a "fingerpick" style player, meaning he doesn't use a guitar pick. When fingerpicking, the thumb plays the 2 bass strings. If you examine the close-up shots on Lindsey, you can see his thumb is muting the midrange strings while his ring finger and pinky play the high notes. I loved the "telepathic" remark, lollll. That's why serious performers spend time rehearsing, ya gotta keep synchronized on stage. For more of Fleetwood Mac throwing lightning on stage, you'd surely enjoy "My Little Demon", from the concert tour called The Dance. Take care & stay well 😇🌹😊🤩
Iconic band ! I got to see them live in my misspent youth ! Mic used ahead drumsticks which is the brand . Thanks for another reaction ! You are always trying to learn and i love that !
I remember seeing them about 20 years ago and I'm 32 now. Even though stevie was obviously pretty old she still sounded the same as she did when she was young.
All I can say is, "I'm glad the younger generations can appreciate greatness when they hear and see it." Lindsey was possessed by another force when playing this ❤
There are many types of drum sticks but to answer your question more specifically… there are traditional wood sticks and then wood sticks with nylon tips (the round things you described). These tips accentuate the cymbal sounds, especially on the hi-hat and ride cymbals, giving it a brighter sound… that can also cut more through all the other music going on.
🎼🎸🎸🎸✨️🎸🎸🎸🎼 great .. just great Maddy !!! I love Fleetwood Mac songs. This great video highlights the tremendous guitar skills and singing ability of Lindsey Buckingham. The lower sounding strings if a guitar are near the top , not the bottom. If you strum slowly it gets higher as you go down from top to bottom. Lindsey knows how to use all the strings like no other, very skilled musician. Thanks for playing this one. 🎼🎼🎈❤️🎈🎼🎼
Mic Fleetwood plays a lot of percussion drums which is more bass driven. He plays the skins hard and that is his signature sound. Another great rock band for my youth in the 70s.🥰
That's the Lindsey Buckingham playing sitting cross legged in Stevie Nix's crappy studio apartment for hours while eating acid style.Fleetwood Mac? "Go your own way".
Maddy I understand your confusion. John McVie, the Mac in Fleetwood Mac was locked in pretty tight with Lindsey. John and Mick Fleetwood (the drummer) have been doing that since 1968. For my money the most underrated rhythm section in music. Listen To "The Chain."
John McVie's bass work is excellent but subtle. The track recorded on a Fleetwood Mac song is the final bass. John says he needs to tailor the bass to fit the singing.
I always thought that Lindsey Buckingham was any egotistical jackass, but this is definitely an impressive song and performance from him, and it's in my regular play rotation, and is frequently replayed 5 or 6 times before moving the the next song.
Christine had such a knack for laying down just the right keyboards for Lindsey's stuff. They had a real musical kinship. One thing this particular five people could always do very well was put on a great show. You got your money's worth and then some.
Buckingham is playing rhythm and lead simultaneously - one advantage of finger picking - and he's a mater at it as you also saw with Big Love. John McVie is on bass - unusually using a pick.
Fleetwood Mac is one of those Legendary bands. The concert this videos is from is their 'The Dance (album) Reunion'. They have remastered videos of songs from this concert on their youtube channel.
I subscribed because you played this version thank you! From this same concert you need to react to the song "BIG LOVE" it is just Lindsay and a acoustic guitar and he does actuality play both lead and bass on one guitar and sings his AXX off it's unbelievable!! He is one of the most under rated musician
Maddy.. Fleetwood Mac is such an epic group with so many GREAT hits that transcends generations! Special bands have checked all the boxes to make their music everlasting.. this is one of those bands! If I may suggest a so from their early days. Fleetwood Mac - Rhiannon (Official Music VIdeo) I wish you react to it but at least watch it.... ! Love Ya peace
If Buckingham was playing the bass strings on his guitar, they would be the top strings. Padding on the drumsticks give a more cushiony sound. Check out Silver Springs ua-cam.com/video/eDwi-8n054s/v-deo.html from the same concert. 20 years after their breakup, Stevie Nicks is still angry, and it shows on that song, as she's firing laser eyes at Lindsey, bringing the song to a rousing conclusion.
As a band their history is bizarre and it is a wonder how they lasted so long considering they all hate(hated) each other but it never started that way, Lyndsey and Stevie having a huge fight and messy break up after the first album,.Christine cheating on John and Mick keeping the Columbian economy running, you would think that would be it all over but somehow Mick managed to get them all in the studio to do Rumours probably one of the greatest albums ever made and its all about them hating each other i mean Stevie just totally destroys Lyndsey with the chain and dreams so he writes go your own way to get back at her,Christine writes you make loving fun about her affair, its a damn masterpiece the whole album lol
That was awesome but to me the very best version of this song live is from their double album from 1980 I think it was from Richfield Coliseum I'm so afraid is 8 minutes and 33 seconds long it is a scorcher a smoker better than this version in my opinion
There are all different kinds of drum sticks some with small tips and larger tips it just gives a different sound when hitting the drum head and sometimes the bass player plays the same chord as the guitar maybe that was the confusion anyhow excellent song and reaction later beautiful girl.❤️🤘😎
Your off...it would be impossible to play both...😂. It’s not a bass! My Dear , the bass player is back by the drummer! It’s the way it was tuned! You need to educate yourself on instruments. It’s not supernatural, it’s called practice. You will understand the more you listen to, and watch these great artists. SRV & Double Trouble from Austin City Limits! You don’t have to block him
Lindsey Buckingham is one of the greatest guitar players of all time.
No doubt. The Top 5 guitarists who have influenced my style are, in no particular order:

plus he sings, astonishing talent from my understanding self taught and doesn't read sheet music!
This is one of the rare versions of this song that is SO MUCH BETTER then the vinyl version.
1000x better...i almost think it puts them back to their original blues band days before they were famous
This entire concert was a masterpiece! The ending with a full marching band will make your jaw drop!
Absolutely the Usc trojans were amazing
To qoute someone elses comment, Lindsay goes into a trance, and takes us all with him, one of my favorite all time songs,
When people think of "Best Guitarists" people like Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmy Paige or Jimi Hendrix often come to mind. I have not heard this song in a while, glad you played it. Its a master piece !

There was a reason Mick Fleetwood needed to replace Lindsey Buckingham with two guitarists on the last tour.
Lindsay is one of the best guiturist in history .
So epic
David Gilmour is better.

I think this is the concert where they had the USC marching band come out playing for their song Tusk.
He often plays bass lines, but also had the great bass player John McVie. Behind him supporting him! It all kinda worked out for them.
Such a group of incredibly talented musicians. I believe that the drummer was the glue that held this band together though many changes and over many years.
He is self-taught and his picking style is his own-
Wow!!

Lindsey Buckingham plays guitar in a very unique way with his fingers.
One of the GOATs of finger picking guitar players.
Very hard to do. I have never seen him use a pick before.
I think Lindsey is very underrated as a guitar player honestly.
Ntm a singer as well.
He can play me with those unique fingers anytime!!! Lindsey is a gift from the Music Gods!!!🎶🎼🎵🎸🥁🎹🎤🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥💜
Iconic band ! I got to see them live in my misspent youth !

someone from the uk rented a car from me and left fleetwood mac cd with me I found this song I love it so much from Jamaica

One of the icons of the 70’s we Boomers were so blessed with great music! 😎🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥they look like sticks for a kettle drum.
GREAT deep cut request! Buckingham is an animal! "The Dance" DVD is a MUST own!

By far -- Lindsey was the secret success to keeping the band alive as he modified their sound over the years.
Lind

Oh so cool!

The Bass 🔊 on The Chain ⛓️ is wicked !
Oooh
John's base on Sisters of the Moon live from Mirage tour is great too.
Yes, great Rythym Section! All the way back to John Mayall days they kick butt.
This just grabs my soul, and take me higher!
Incredible how this song builds in tension, released by Buckingham's playing.
Mick Fleetwood recently lost his restaurant in the fires in Lahaina Hawaii
FWM has such a cool tribal undertone with John's bass playing.
Lindsey being his genius guitar playing self playing rhythm and lead in unison.
cool and the gang. That band had tons of hits back in the late 70's-80's. At every school dance.
Never stop during a solo, espescially not on this great solo! 😉
So true...
Lindsey Buckingham is one of the most underrated guitar players ever.
Christine had such a knack for laying down just the right keyboards for Lindsey's stuff.
They had a real musical kinship.

Fleetwood Mac - The Chain (Official Music Video) [HD].. very HIGHLY HIGHLY recommended.
Fleetwood Mac is one of those Legendary bands. The concert this videos is from is their 'The Dance (album) Reunion'. They have remastered videos of songs from this concert on their youtube channel.
early Fleetwood Mac song which I have always loved!
Play the melody and bass live at the same time? Hah...Wait this is Lindsey. NM, I've seen him do it.
Epic!
Finger Picking, one of the Best. Alongside Derrick Trucks of Allman Brothers.
He Was Playing Bass ! What bob 1984 said a couple down from here
The live version of Silver Springs is a very good one to react too.
Lindsey brilliant musician songwriter all round studio genius of the band
John Mc. Vie is playing the baas.
A hidden gem. 🔥🎵🎶🎶🎶 Peace ✌️
If you liked this, you will be amazed by, Live version of Big love by Fleetwood mac, acoustic solo guitar performance from lindsey

She already *did* react to "Big Love" live from The Dance back in August
When Fleetwood Mac fired Lindsay Buckingham for money, they had to hire 2 guitarists to take the place of only one.
I love this version but the version from Boston 2004 was in my opinion the best
John McVie is playing the bass. Lindsey is playing lead guitar.
Many of his parts have bass and melody. Look at The Chain intro. The advantage of his finger style.
"Comfortably Numb" Pulse.
Pink Floyd.
Great song!
best live version is the one in Boston
That is my favorite as well.
I never heard this song of theirs, thanks.
Maddy.. Fleetwood Mac is such an epic group with so many GREAT hits that transcends generations! Special bands have checked all the boxes to make their music everlasting.. this is one of those bands! If I may suggest a so from their early days.

Long island audit. 😂

He’s a banjo player. That’s his finger style.

Oooh! I felt she seemed upset but didn’t know if I was reading into things too deeply
he doesn't use a pick, he used his fingernails or just his fingers and thumb to play multiple notes at once.

Loving the new shirt!!. I actually had an idea for it that would be for next year if you're interested.
He is just playing with his fingers instead of a pick. The drumsticks are just nylon tip sticks. Pretty common.
He uses a finger pick style.
So cool!!
Ce sourire 😍
Check out Iron Lung from King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard. Super cool song and probably the most trippy music video ever made.
John Mc Vie is playing bass..................look to the right of Mick...Lindsay HAS teleee-commun----tic powers.......let it flow into YOU!!!!!
Great song and beautiful woman. 🤘🤩🇺🇸
YOU BEAUTIFUL MEDY REACTION VIDEO
OW,,YOU'R WELCOME
As good as this is you should check out Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac 's " I've Got A Mind to Give up Living " electric blues live 1970
You said, “ alone” isn’t it afraid?
My biggest problem with this review. She blew the title!
@@babs51063 it makes me ask, what’s so funny about peace, love, and understanding?
Live 1982 version is so Bleeping Great ! This one not as good as that one
You should react to their song “Gypsy” next🤘🏼
Now do Big Love!
"I'm So Alone"??? 😅
Il joue une forme de picking , c'est très difficile !!
Wow!
I'm so alone? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Whoops 😂🤦🏽♀️
I’m So Alone???? Really!!!????
Tusk
It's not I'm so alone
Nobody can copy Lindsey's work.
Except, you know, the millions of people that have successfully covered his music.....
You are completely off. They have a bass player in the background:):)
