Do not confuse Anglicismo (the use of an english word, usually a brand name or specific noun, borrowing a word from the english language) whiich is a linguistic phenomenon recognized in Latin America and Spain with what is heard in the US States with heavy Latin populations like New York called Spanglish (which in reality is Code-Switching, a back and forth, mixing several words in english, then several words in spanish, then back again to english in one sentence, example ''' Today I went to the supermarket y compre unas manzanas verdes en especial and also i bought a bag of lettuce and a bag de limones para hacer una limonada''' ). In Puerto Rico people do not speak Spanglish, they do often use Anglicismos like Parking instead of Estacionamiento, Q-tips instead of Isótopo, Pampers instead of Pañal.
Thank you for making the distinction! "Code switching is the use of both Spanish and English in the same sentence, phrase or conversation by a single person. Spanglish is the combination of an English word and a Spanish word to make a new word that does not technically have a meaning in either language."
