Thanks for the video. My neighbor has a Patriot 61. I ended up getting a Toro Z Master 4000 60" with the Kawi 31 hp. This made me willing to try it out on my 2 acre 'meadow' that I let go when my old mower (Worldlawn Cobra 52) died. It's about the same height as your field, maybe a bit thicker since it's been kept mowed for about 4 years now.

I’ve been trying to find a video for an idea of what it’ll actually do since I’m looking to upgrade and purchase the patriot and this is all I needed to confirm my want/need for it. I get into plenty of yard not that tall but close and my mower isn’t getting it done so thanks for sharing this video and helping me know how it’ll handle taller grass!

@@1brotherlove829 Fell through unfortunately. The engine carked it not long before I was going to pick it up so he said not worth getting.
I've built with plenty of other mowers in the meantime though including a Toro Grandstand, JD F1145 and Kubota F3690. Much better options for my work!

I just bought a patriot w/kawi 691 carb. No efi. Ive never owned a scag 'acually i stayed away from them but been hearing so much good talk 'well i hope i didnt toss away my money. I should have it at my home by next week. Wish me luck

I have the 52 patriot and am surprised you had to go that slow on your first pass. Especially knowing you had to double pass it anyway. Mine replaced a 4' tractor/bushhog and can mow around 6 acres in under 3 hrs. Especially if I mow every 3 weeks.

Yep I can see you will need to mow it at least one more time have a look at the Kavli blade it has very little to do with the mower but it has everything to do with the blade give us a replay.

My patriot uses a lot more gas. I wonder if I need to set something up differently? I cut for a little over an hour and used over 1/2 a tank.

K0ZZY hmmmm. That’s peculiar. This mower doesn’t get as good fuel economy as my last, but it has a wider deck and larger engine. I almost always go through 1/4 tank per hour regardless of what I’m cutting. Is yours the same size tank? 6.XX gallons?

Yes same tank. Different engine though, maybe thats the difference? I have the 52 inch cut.

My patriot uses more gas than my Dixon did but it also cuts the mow time for a pretty much even trade, better ride.

Changed your air filter? I’d be curious what your plugs look like, that’s a lot of fuel consumption.

@@aaronreynolds2776 Not sure what happened to my other reply, maybe because I had a link in it, but it's a piece of metal that goes from the rear edge of the discharge area in towards the spindle. I'm guessing you don't have it, because it doesn't show as standard equipment on the Patriot deck, and since you didn't know what it was, it's unlikely that you asked for it as an option/attachment. Thank you, though!

Take the spring off the bolt & put the bolt back in pretty tight. It’ll stay wherever you want it
