I just picked up a Bad Boy Avenger with a 60” deck. I have a 2.5 acre field that hasn’t been cut in 3 seasons. Not as tall and thick as your property but not much shorter. Unfortunately that’s how I’m gonna break the mower in is knocking it all down but it’ll be smooth sailing after that. Thanks for this video. Never thought I needed to see someone else do it to get me to say screw it and do it. lol.
I have a craftsman gt6000 strong kohler riding mower that I got when I bought my farm property. I have grass like yours that even after a few drives over it still stands up or doesn’t get cut. I wonder if I need to sharpen the blades or something. The mower is a 2013 and I doubt it’s ever had the blades serviced
Hey I got a really good question for you sir does that hurt your mower. I say that because I have a mower and I've never done that with it but I have a tractor with a brush hog and I have taken out seven foot tall grass with that
It can hurt it if you go plowing straight into it, super long thick grass is where you’ll snap a deck belt usually. However, since it’s a reasonably small zero turn it shouldn’t have as much of an issue with snapping belts as some of the larger decked mowers. Apart from that, as long as your mower isn’t constantly bogging down and struggling, it really shouldn’t hurt it at all.
Welcome! Y'all head over to the channel page to check out more videos of the Scag at work...and lots of chainsaws.
Great job on the lawn looks professional
Not bad for a little Patriot. Good job

Mannnn, how blessed u have a ride on mower. Now let's see you grow it back out and use what we all normally have. The push mower or weed whacker! 😂
Pretty brave to stand in that 🐍🐍😂😂 scag did well though 🍻
Do you start with the highest settings on cutting?
I believe I started around 5" and lowered it to 3".

You definitely need new blades.Also.RPM important
They are air cooled need that air when working Xtra hard.
Does your mower protect the belt drive well?
Nice video Glenn! Looks like it took about three or four passes in those really tall spots to knock that stuff down, did the Scag bog down at all?
Thanks man! Surprisingly it never bogged down. I've been impressed with this mower.
Tall grass keeps destroying my deck belt. What am I doing wrong.
What model of blades are you using? Thks
You do know there is a plate under the deck you can adjust to help cut taller grass
What is this you speak of???
@@TheHogdog92 adjustable baffle under the deck

At that point you need to get a mowing trailer attachment.
You should always discharge away from the grass you are cutting. That way you don’t cut the grass twice.
Grass has nowhere to discharge if it’s pointed into that tall grass
Sir he's got a $5k mower, I don't think he gives a fuck about cutting it twice lol
damn
Looks like you need sharpen the blades it barely cutting it
My mower blew up while cutting tall grass 😢
Oh no!
Should have bought a bad boy it would have run through that alot esier
And lasted a week
