Shoutout to Terry Crews, who was just starting his acting career and got the chance to stand next to one of the greats, in an Oscar-worthy performance.
He just did an interview on Club Shay Shay that made me want to watch this scene again.
@@jcaashby3same
Same haha

We know we just watched it on club Shay Shay too
Fun fact: the King Kong line was improvised by him. He was just in the zone, so in character. He was amazing in this
Yeah I know, that’s what good actors do when they in the zone especially Denzel
He actually was talking about terry crews who was staring him down lol
probably the worse scene in the movie
@@ailuosi7241Hate doesn’t look good on you brother.
@@DeMarcusReevon the movie was good but this scene was garbage. i wouldn't expect you to understand. shouting and out of direction aggression is always appealing to people like you. i can see why you loved it. but despite your lack of sophistication for consistent story telling, the scene still remains the worse scene in the movie. cry all you want, this fact wont change.
Terry Crew is a legend! who came here after watching his interview at Club Shay Shay 😅

Facts
Seriously one of the finest movies ever made. Denzel is exceptional.
I agree with the last part.
Agreed
Right. And imagine all the accolades the film got, but Antoine Fuqua wasn't nominated for Best Director. We all know what that's about.
@@quintusgreene7292what’s your point?
Denzel's best performance imo.. Hawke's best as well btw
That look in his eyes at the end, when he's laughing outwardly but clearly fearful internally, for an actor, that is a sign of greatness. It was over and he knew it but couldn't let them see his fear. But his eyes told you everything,.
sure did. just chilling you can tell he knew he was about to die soon.
One of the greatest actors of all time. Him, De Niro and Nicholson. They can act without saying anything.
Agreed 100%
Yeah that was pretty good, outward bravado but inwardly he knew that he was completely screwed
The kicker is that in real life or acted out like here. Everyone can still see your fear. We humans really don't do a good job hiding our emotions.
Y’all really just spoiled the end of Godzilla vs Kong.
Well done lad 🤣🤣

Terry looks incredible. Walked on the set and got on the scene, right time, right place. Incredible
He still looks good. The man doesn’t age apparently.
This was Terry Crews' first ever role and he stood next to a legend. His career blew up after this.
“you can shoot me, but you can’t kill me”
There is a cold truth in those words...
You can kill the man , but the chaos inflicted by him will not wash away that easily
Another takes his place.
@@redsol3629 my take on that is that his impact will still resonate after he is gone, whatever that may be.

“What a day” - Legendary acting by a Legend
I love when a great hero actor is even better as a bad guy. Well done Denzel!
Yeah when it came out and as we were watching the movie, slowly realizing that, Denzel is the bad guy?!!! Up to that point, any Denzel movie that came out, he was always on the side of righteousness. It really did have an impact, just blew everyone away, not just the fact it was Denzel but just how he brought that character to life like no other. 😊
My aunt loves Denzel but hates Alonso
0:59 I can't believe Terry Crews made unexpected cameo and witnessed Denzel Washington's iconic line. 😂
I saw a clip where Terry Crews talks about getting to do that. I saw it on YT. IIRC he is friends with someone working on the film. He's a fan of Denzel, and wants to see him in action, so he gets to visit the set. The director spotted him and asked if he'd like to be an extra. Terry jumps at the chance. Terry said he is also seen earlier in the film doing something on a rooftop.
That's President Camacho to you

Was ready for him to start doing the breast flex at Alonzo as an intimidation tactic.
This was his 1st movie scene. He was a security guard who was invited to watch the scene. Director noticed his size and asked him if he wanted to be in the film. He took off after that

Hawke could go toe to toe with any tough guy leading man. He deserved more attention for this performance

Daniel Day Lewis and Denzel Washington are in a class of their own. No one else comes close to this level.

Only Denzel can deliver a speech like that. We may have the words on paper, but switch Denzel for anyone else this would not be the same. Great also to see Denzel play a villain, which does not happen often. Spectacular performance.

Club Shay Shay!!!!
This is why he is one of the last few A listers left. Hats off to Terry Crews he is amazing.
Denzel really did good in his supporting role of Crews here.
Hate when people say Denzel is Denzel in every movie, because he's not, he hits different emotions eloquently. Just because he's great at everything, doesn't mean he's doing the same thing every time, he just adapts that well, it's effortless. This is defeat, anger, desperation, panic. It's a different person, personality, emotions than shown in John Q, Glory, Malcolm X, Man on Fire, and even Equalizer. He's truly a master, and the greatest of his generation.
Who said that? I've never read or heard that statement until your comment.
There was no way he was not picking up that oscar
It actually could have gone either way. Russell Crowe was actually a slight favorite for "A Beautiful Mind"...but I'm glad Denzel won!
Shoe program. 23 hour lock down.
Damn I love Denzel
It's actually "SHU program." SHU is an acronym for Security Housing Unit, which is basically extreme solitary confinement (hence the 23-hour lock down part).

Yes, but Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke were at their finest. This was an acting masterclass. Rough movie but so truthful if you know people involved in this game. Give and take.

Phenomenal acting from Denzel. Perfectly encapsulating the "all bark but no bite".
Pretty sure Roger felt his bite
He had plenty of bite.
I wanna see and Denzel n Leo in a movie together. Two of the best
Scorsese ain't ready for that. It's too much.
Denzel was phenomenal in this scene.. He's always top notch... The guy who plays make sorry can't think his name but he did great to in it.... Jake did right.... He left Denzel to the dudes that Denzel thought he could put fear into and play good cop and bad cop with.... In reality that whole hood could of killed Denzel thought I think the hood knew Russians were after him so they left him to die to the Russians.
After snatching the badge and saying, "You don't deserve this," Jake should have snatched the cross pendant and said, "You don't deserve this either."

Who’s here after the club Shay Shay interview 😅
Club Shay Shay's Terry Crews interview brought me here. I've seen Training Day when it came out, but I never noticed that was Terry. He said that role led to Friday After Next. The director saw him just standing behind the lines and asked him to join the scene because of his looks. He had just started going back to the gym. It reminded me of that saying you don't have to get ready if you stay ready.
Excellent acting by the legend Denzel Washington.
There are real life police officers who are just as arrogant as Alonzo Harris is in this clip. They really believe that badge makes them untouchable.
(Denzel Washington's acting was outstanding in this movie!)
Most people who are police officers are scary mfs scared to throw hands or threw hands, got they🤬whipped and still can't let the 🤬go so they get a badge and a gun and hunt down anybody that resembles the one that rocked their🤬 shoots them down and feels a level of revenge and satisfaction . I love ❤️ how . Denzel emphasize the king Kong speech love it he is truly a good actor.
The Terry Cruz Interview had me check this out again. One thing about this scene is it was shot in the Jungle. It is not a projects it is just an area you DO NOT GO unless you had a Street Head Nod pass from family, tight partners. It may have mellowed some but not someplace you hung out when I was a youngster on the streets. It is actually surrounded by very Nice areas on all sides, it just turned out to be what it was, at one time. The other thing is there were only two ways to get in and out if I remember so you had to know before going in. lol don't know now. Haven't been in that area for years. Hopefully it has gotten safer.
