My husband suffered a serious heart attack a year and a half ago and a few months later, during his recovery, he began to experience nightmares and subsequently, trouble sleeping. When he shared this with me, it happened to be the beginning of October, and I was going to commit myself to praying the rosary each day that month. My husband decided to pray one night with me. We prayed the rosary together that first night and then the next night and the next and my husband's nightmares stopped. We have prayed the rosary every night together ever since, over a year, now, and he has slept well and without fear, ever since. Thank you for your intercession, Blessed Mother Mary.
One of my favorite Bible segments bringing to mind the dignity of life- When Mother Mary was pregnant with Jesus, she went on an about eighty mile joyous journey to visit her cousin Saint Elizabeth (patron saint of expectant mothers and pregnant women) in her hour of need, Elizabeth said referencing her tiny child in her womb John the Baptist who was conceived when she was in old age: Luke 1:41-45 When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the infant leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, cried out in a loud voice and said, “Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled.” Praying for our Church, our culture, and for us in my Rosary every day! I believe Jesus Christ is the mediator, and I believe our Blessed Mother Mary can lead us to Him. She prays for us on our way to Him. When I refer to Mary as my mother, please know I am not taking away respect due to my one and only God, Lord Jesus Christ. I believe loving people Jesus loves helps us love Him more, so the more I love Mary, the more I love God, and Jesus gave Mary to us as our mother on the Cross. John 19: 26-27 When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son.” Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his home. Mother Mary, the first Christian with her choice to say "yes" to my one and only God's will, I believe she is the number 1 model for sainthood for both men and women. She did God's will perfectly in every respect from the moment of her conception, listening to every single one of His commands. Her choice to say "yes" Luke 1:38 Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.” Then the angel departed from her. to God's will ushered in salvation for the world, and she did so knowing the sacrifices and sufferings that would result from her decision, but, humbly, accepted the privilege of containing the God of the Universe her womb, and then becoming Jesus' most intimate friend, companion, and greatest consolation while on Earth. She was the devil's ultimate humiliation! I believe God is the King of the universe, having all power of the universe, but God chose Our Lady, a humble lowly woman the privilege of crushing the head of the devil. Mary is not God, but she is a saint, and being that she is with Jesus in Heaven, I ask for her intercession to our Lord (and for sake of brevity, I'll say I "pray to Mary"), similar to how I'd ask people to pray for me (if you have the time, please do! I'm a broken sinner in need of many prayers), but I trust she is a saint in Heaven so I believe it is helpful to ask for her help, especially being so close to her Son. There is only one God. He is the source of all good. He is Goodness. He is Love! Thank you, Father Mike Schmitz!

Thank you, Fr. Mike! I am a lifelong practicing Catholic but had never before heard the origins of the rosary. So enlightening and helpful. God bless you for all you do to promote the faith and clarify misunderstandings about Catholicism.
Sometimes the Rosary feels like mindless repetition when you're just saying the same words over and over again. But I've also noticed that it's a very peaceful and calming prayer. Repeating the same prayer keeps your mind from drifting too far away.
I’m a cradle catholic, and then became a non denominational Christian at 26. I was extremely devout for 5 years and now I am going back. I joined RCIA this fall and one thing I always heard was, it’s not good to repeat over and over again the same thing. And that it’s mindless, blah blah blah. One person that told me that was my husband. I told him, look, the Rosary is the perfect prayer. Look at our father, look at Hail Mary. What Are you saying? You’re thanking, you’re asking for mercy, you’re asking for God’s will, you’re praying for EVERYONE, literally everyone else. What else do you need? Now I still will take the time to pray for my Lord about specific things but the Rosary is perfect for our day to day. In the end, we can’t manipulate God and we have faith he will know what we need.
The Rosary is a method of learning and meditating on Jesus' life through the mysteries. The prayers are the same but they are said while meditating on the five mysteries of that day's Mystery. Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious, and Luminous. Once I learned that part of the prayers, my praying of the Rosary was much more rewarding.
I do pray the Rosary once and sometimes twice a day. Thank you for this video and explanation, Fr Mike. Praying for you and everyone here. God bless🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻

I believe he's our friend and loves us with the love of Heaven, the love of God, and God entrusted us to Saint Michael, so we can trust he will help us get to Heaven. He will help take care of us! Hope you have a light-filled peaceful joyful blessed October, everyone!

This reminds me of Lot asking the Lord if he will destroy the righteous along with the wicked. Which is why prayer is not only good for us but those around us. But even when we try, we are so often met with angry accusations: "You Catholics WORSHIP MARY!!!" "VAIN REPETITION!!!" So insulting to our Blessed Mother, who is truly Jesus's most faithful disciple and always points to her Son, never to herself-- except as a model and guide to Christian belief and practice. And very discouraging to hear-- how can anyone reason with such people?
I was baptist too. Had a lot to unlearn

I am a breast cancer survivor for 3 years. Mother Mary is my Miracle Lady. I prayed my rosary everyday until to this day. She made an important change in my life. Through Mother Mary, Jesus healed me. Always grateful for her unconditional love, help, guidance, hope, Miracles and Healing.
I only became Catholic because of Marian intervention. Ave Maria and Glory Be To God the Father the Son and Holy Ghost.
Let us pray the Rosary everyday, Our Lady of Fatima
Thank you Mother Mary for the rosary! Thank you Fr Mike for reminding us of importance of Rosary.

Repent and pray the rosary. Wonderful words to live by and not too much to ask. Mother Mary please help me to do what you ask of me.
I just finished praying the Rosary before seeing this video. ❤
In my current struggles, the rosary has always provided me a means of peace when I am overthinking
One of my favorite Bible segments bringing to mind the dignity of life-
When Mother Mary was pregnant with Jesus, she went on an about eighty mile joyous journey to visit her cousin Saint Elizabeth (patron saint of expectant mothers and pregnant women) in her hour of need, Elizabeth said referencing her tiny child in her womb John the Baptist who was conceived when she was in old age:
Luke 1:41-45 When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the infant leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, cried out in a loud voice and said, “Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled.”
Praying for our Church, our culture, and for us in my Rosary every day!
Her choice to say "yes"
Luke 1:38 Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord.
God bless you Father Mike.
I pray the scriptural rosary, it helps my concentration. Eg. Monday Scriptural rosary 📿 ....Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen 🙏🙌 Greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦
The Rosary is the most powerful weapon we have against evil in this world. Thank you Father Mike! Didn’t know you were from Chicago. Same here St. Rita “Go Mustangs”!

Completely agree.
I liked this video a lot. I am not Catholic but I have been saying the rosary (with the help of various UA-cam channels) for about 8 years. I have learned some of the things you said but not all. I find the holy rosary very calming and centering. I also love the structure of the prayers and the bits of Jesus’s life in each grouping. Thank you!
Kristian cross is a great channel here on UA-cam to pray the Rosary
This is a great video. When I take the subway train to go somewhere I pray the rosary silently and I count the beads with a ring-rosary or a short key chain rosary I have and time flies quickly!
Thank you, Fr Mike, important message for this time we live in. God Bless. Claire.
Praise Jesus that the Blessed Mother shares the treasures of her heart with us! It is such a gift to walk through the Gospel with her. Hand in hand, like little children, she leads us to her Son. ❤
Dear Father Mike, I’ve been following you for the last couple of months and you’ve been such a fresh air for me in my practice. I listen to your teachings while driving, running and cooking! Just wanted to say thank you, you have no idea how much you’ve been helping me. I’ve decided to pray the rosary everyday since last month, and I’m reading books about it. As I turned to my phone now what a lovely surprise to see you just recorded this video! 🥹 thank you! God bless you! Please keep teaching us!! Lots of love from Brazil!! 🇧🇷

Now I know 🙏. I’ve been praying the Holy Rosary everyday for about two years and I’m so happy as it’s given me strength, comfort and peace.
Try a scriptural rosary. It helps.
That is ok. We all do this. Just stop to think Mary is the holy Mother of God....
Well she is the Holy Mother of God
Pray the Rosary everyday! ✨🌹❤️✨

Thank you for your guidance and sharing. I've been enjoying the Bible in 1 year podcast and after many years of prayer and reflection I am now following Gods path into the Catholic faith. Who knows, maybe even into the life of Priest. Blessings.

Happy Feast Day of the Holy Guardians Angels! Prayed to Jesus today through the intercession of my guardian angel!
Psalm 90:11 "For he hath given his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.”
Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God’s love entrusts me here, ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.
I've been praying for you Father Mike and the people here in my Rosary every day (thank you for everyone last week who prayed for my friend, including someone who replied praying to Jesus through the intercession St. Mark Ji Tianxiang!) and, on Sunday, the Feast Day of the Holy Archangels, St. Michael, St. Gabriel, and St. Raphael, I prayed to our Lord Jesus through the intercession of Saint Michael, as well as Saint Gabriel and Saint Raphael, to help protect and defend us. I believe he's our friend and loves us with the love of Heaven, the love of God, and God entrusted us to Saint Michael, so we can trust he will help us get to Heaven. He will help take care of us!
Hope you have a light-filled peaceful joyful blessed October, everyone!
I started praying the Rosary 3 years ago, in the middle of my process of praying for my marriage restoration. I started on my own, then in group and now I pray also with my mom. I'm in love with the Rosary, it's a true meditation on Jesus' life and it's a moment to relax and think no other thing so it has also helped me with my anxiety. . I love your videos, father. Thank you
Beautiful and informative video. Thank you.
This reminds me of Lot asking the Lord if he will destroy the righteous along with the wicked. Which is why prayer is not only good for us but those around us. Who may not know God and when we can we should share with those in the dark. Plant seeds brothers and sisters. God will water them through us and others.
What an eye-opener for me that I hadn't considered before - of course Mary is sent by God and is giving us His message.

Any time I pray the Holy Rosary and meditate on the mysteries, I always gain a peace that would never be possible with any material things we think we enjoy. Mary's intercession is real and when you realise that you can't help but wonder "why didn't I start doing this sooner." Praise be to God and God bless everyone.
Thank you Fr Mike
I just started praying to her more often. I call her Mom as well.
That's such a beautiful thing about the church. Knowing we have the ability to pray even in the midst of our sin. Knowing that's the way of the saints of course knowing ourself. Before we go never ceasing, certainly we must strive for it, polishing the saint...😂😂😂
ain't that some, when you know what the church does, is make it part in. From the altar to the sun, you realize how much love the church has for a sinner. WHERE YOU AT PRODIGAL, WE LOOKING AND WE TOOTING AND RECRUITING. WE WILL FIND YAH AND WE WILL KEEP YAH.
Tq Father Mike for the reminder. God bless.
