ST. TERESA OF LISIEUX: “I cannot bring myself to hunt through books for beautiful prayers. There are so many of them that I get a headache. Besides, each prayer seems lovelier than the next. I cannot possibly say them all and do not know which to choose. I behave like a child who cannot read: I tell God what I want and He always understands. For me, prayer is an upward leap of the heart, an untroubled glance towards heaven, a cry of gratitude and love which I utter from the depths of sorrow as well as from the heights of joy...”

Good morning Bishop Barron, and greetings from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺
I’d like to offer you my heartfelt thanks, and deep appreciation for your teachings in this dark world, where the truth is being constantly attacked, and when good priests are being cancelled for speaking the truth.
As your beloved saint St. Thomas More said on the scaffold. “I die the King’s good servant, but I die God’s first’
Please remember your little lambs must be fed.
May beautiful Jesus, and his most holy Mother, continue to bless you. ✝️

I often just chat with God … in my car, in waiting rooms, in Chapel before Mass especially and before confessions. Sometimes as I’m in the supermarket while I’m shopping, you can talk to Good anywhere, anytime and know he hears you. 🙏🙏🙏

When I was in kindergarten, the nuns defined praying as "talking to God with love" for the kids to understand what praying is. The definition was etched in my until in my senior years now.

I talk to him all day long like a friend just like you say. He told me that if I want to pray for someone else, I just need to think about them for a moment, and he does the rest. Pretty cool huh? I used to just get up and start talking to him out loud all day long just like you said. It's quite real. There is a pay off. People think it's crazy. My mom taught me to do that. My Father said he's been talking to me since I was 16 because I would talk out loud just like my Mom would do. It's all very real. The words of Christ are worth more than gold imho. Thank you so much!

ST. TERESA OF AVILA: “Don’t think that if you had a great deal of time you would spend more of it in prayer. Get rid of that idea! God gives more in a moment than in a long period of time, for His actions are not measured by time at all. Know that even when you are in the kitchen, our Lord is moving among the pots and pans!”

I am terrible at conversational prayer. I talk too much. Lol. It often breaks down into wandering thoughts.
I do use the Jesus prayer all the time. Bishop Barron said it perfect. It draws me back into silence and centers me. Among other things, it has had a profound effect on my patience with other people and general worry. Slower to anxiety and anger.

People typically pray when they want something and are disappointed if they don't get what they pray for.
God gives us what we need not necessarily what we want. It's important to believe that God answers our prayers. One can't pray and then not believe that your prayers will be answered

Whenever I felt that way, like I was talking to myself, I would go to my computer and type out my heartfelt prayers and then press “send” which was really the delete button. That way I knew God heard and saw my crying out to him. Seems totally strange, but it was as a good way for me to pray and say, “There! It’s all yours God!”

Oh please, any real catholic Jesus adherent knows that Bishop Barron has a difficult time reaching out to people and connecting. He's a typical preacher! Which is the exact problem with trying to express belief in faith. People think it's fake. They need things explained in such a way that speaks to their conscience.
