I read it a few years ago, hated it. It read like a wattpad fanfic. Imagine my surprise when last year I saw someone GENUINELY hype this series up
I just got to page 63 and ive been realizing how mediocre the writing is but I kept on because I hadn't seen a bad review yet, I'm so glad I've found people who think the same😅

It makes me crazy that the book makes Warner so extreme to make it seem like Adam is a better choice when both of them are walking red flags. Also berserk to give your protagonist the ultimate power and but then make them choose to be controlled in every situation possible.
You guys have noooo idea how entertaining this break down/ analysis is for someone who has never read this, i.e. ME 😂😂😂. It sounds absolutely bonkers, especially the part where they're in a car, with a drugged up toddler, heavy petting, while a guy is driving the car, low key voyeuring them?! What the hell is this book even?! 😂😂😂
You could literally explain the entire plot of the story and a couple of sentences, they wrote Juliet so terribly, and she’s literally everything I hate. 😭
I read the whole book and it was absolutely trash solid one star .

I re-read the first book 4 days ago, and it was really such a let down. Aaran Warners shrines / shatter me cult is all over social media, but for what? No idea. The hype is wild for something... so bad.
I tried gaslighting myself into reading the rest of the series before I finally accepted that shatter me was awful. BTW the audiobook was even worse. The narrator was terrible!

This book reads to me like when I was in high school and had a crush on someone I would imagine all these scenarios before falling asleep where crazy things would happen and my crush’s sole existence was to fall in love with me 😂😅 so although I have definitely outgrown that phase, I could see how there could be a target audience for this
It's literally Wattpad material 😭 and it definitely falls in the category of people who didn't grow out of their Wattpad phase

It’s strange cuz I just read Tahereh Mafi’s new series and it’s largely the same when it comes to world building if not WORSE…nothing happens and we know nothing about anything and it’s all just centered around a basic chosen one trope. Only saving grace is the characters are SORT OF fun

I binged the entire series during the 2020 lockdown - it wasn't well written but I thought it was entertaining overall.

I have to say if you’re planning on reading the next one, Juliette is still in cry mode for like 40% of it if I’m not wrong. It gets better though 😭😭

Okay hear me out, for a DBBC omega verse book you could do Bro and the Beast by LC Davis and Joel Abernathy. It’s omegaverse satire. A frat bro gets pulled into his twin’s favorite omegaverse romance novel and finds that he’s replaced the female lead in the book. It’s a series of connected novellas, so they are pretty quick reads and very silly.
dbbc is the highlight of my day!! please do the folk of the air🤞🏽praying that y’all actually like it cuz it’s one of my faves 😅😂
I read this book last year and it felt like a self insert fantasy that was dreamed up in middle school. However, that's not bad, if you take that idea and refine it as an adult. That said, I just put myself on the waiting list for book two and there's like 30 people ahead of me. There's just enough here that I'm willing to give book two a shot.
I read the first three books. Shatter me was bad but compared to the second book it was quite a lot better. The third book was one of the worst things I ever read. If you hated this, way worse is to come
I think you guys should read one of the JD Robb books. The first one, Naked in Death, isn't the best but it does set up the characters. As the series evolves, I find the mysteries to be pretty solid with a great found-family quality to the recurring cast of characters.
Shatter me is such an interesting book imo.
I totally agree that the book is so bad. I genuinely hated how Juliette was so whiny, she seriously annoyed me.
So I can't recommend the book but I do recommend the series. Even just to Ignite Me. By the end of Ignite Me I actually enjoy her as a character.
It is not like a 5 star series but it does get good and entertaining.

Finally I really really hated this book and after seeing all the edits in bookstagram and hype in Pinterest I thought I was problematic one.
If you want a new contender for worst dbbc book, may I recommend The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer? I actually had some fun with it because the cringe was so bad I just had to laugh lol

I bought the firat 2 books when they first came out due to a youtuber I used to watch. She was obsessed the series. It got to the point that when the 3rd book came out I didnt buy it and gave the other 2 away because the way she talked and even her behaivor towards the author totally put me off the series. Never even read them cause everytime I picked up the first one something made mw put it right back down. Not mad I never read it.

I liked the shatter me series and I don’t think it’s entertaining to watch a video tearing it apart for no reason, feels very negative. People like what they like. It’s really not that deep.
