Going with some crystals for today's video! Let me know what you have been modeling lately!

"I made this rly quickly only using these 5 different programs" :D I love this industry
its pretty much how each industry works rly, cuz not a single program is good at everything
@@ShadowedEyedClan pretty sure 3D/VFX industry is one of the biggest offenders when it comes to the list of different programs required to do a job(I'm talking about industry standart).
I learn so much from these videos! Always a joy to see new videos! Keep them up!
Glad you like them!
Holy crap man! These crystals are really cool!
Thank you
Thank you. They look so beautiful.
Thank you!
Yep, I like your assetes!
Love this. Awesome!
On creating the gradient in Substance, you could always use the generator gradient which uses the position map and just sample the 2 areas you want the gradient to go between to get a nice gradient even if the UV's arnt perfectly straight.
Great tip!
Thank you for making such awesome videos! I've been watching them for the last half year or so and they've helped me learn a lot and get a semblance of a workflow going. I've tried to follow along and replicate a few of your videos for assignments in ZBrush and Maya classes I'm taking and been mostly successful. (Side note, you have a very soothing voice!)
Awesome! Glad the vids have helped
such a great tutorial!!! you saved my project 😭 thnx!!!!!!
Nice !!!
Thank you Yankee!
Nice work sir
Thank you!
Great stuff as per usual! Just wondering why you dont make use of the auto "Layout" option in the Maya UV editor?
I do, but sometimes it doesn't pack things too well.
Thanks
No problem
I'll definitely do this when I get at my desk. They look so juicy and shiny.
My current project is modeling a human character, creating a female base mesh I can reuse whenever I need to do a female character.
A question I had asked myself when I modeled a sword some time ago. Where exactly should be the pivot point? Should it be at the position Maya is putting it automatically when centering pivot point, or should it be at the handle? Also, where should the weapon be positioned in Maya? I couldn't really find an answer for that, maybe you have a tip for me.
I would probably put it at the handle location, it kinda depends how it will be used.
Where do you find these amazing concept art?
I didn't use concept for this one, but if you are looking for inspiration I recommend looking at artstation.
I don't understand about the UVs: looks like you made them in Maya but didn't you have to update them after sculpting more in ZBrush? Didn't see that part in the video 🤔 But this is helpful, thank you!
I didn't have to redo uvs after sculpting because the shape didn't change that much from the low poly model.
@@3dextrude I see, the high poly bump details import automatically to Substance when you export FBX?
you have to bake the textures
@@3dextrude I see, thank you. This part of the process is very foreign to me. Appreciate it!
kinda feel like the orb brushes are over used. see them in eeeeverything
They are used a lot for stylized assets.
@@3dextrude should try and make your own, set you apart from all the other stylized artists out there :)
are u import to SP low poly or high poly? if first, then and how to bake low poly in SP using high poly from ZBrush?
the low poly, in the bake settings you load the high poly
@@3dextrude okay, thanx
how did you start your high poly in zbrush without having control edges (mine deforms as i increase polygon count before sculpt)
I used dynamesh to add polys and preserve the shape and then divided. You could also use zremesher as well.
@@3dextrude using dynamesh doesn't preserve the shape for me...did you merge all the subtools into one? Zremesher works a big better in holding the shape but doesnt add control edges to keep that sharpness
@@Sportsman134 Make sure to set the resolution high enough in dynamesh for it to preserve the shape
full video??
Available on Patreon and Premium page at the moment
how did you move the vertices in that mode in maya again?
you mean soft selection? press b to activate and deactivate
do we hv to merge the objects in zbrush while exporting for substance ?
no, you can export them as fbx and they will export in a group just like when you imported them
@@3dextrude Oh..k thanks a lot ..😊👍
Bro please give me the video of how to create a own substance material and i cant join ur premium group . Please help me bro and reply me as soon as possible.
my god what IS THAT SONG?! i know ive played whatever game its from a million times.
TETRIS ON THE SWITCH I REMEMBERED!!!!
mine came out a bit more realistic
Your voice seems to be very loud in this video. Looks fantastic though!
this is my other account. Ignore that comment, it's fine now (at least on mobile).
Wouldn't the if map change when u sculpt after base mesh?
I baked on the low poly model so the uvs don't change on that. It doesn't matter what the uvs are in the high poly
@@3dextrude ohhh..ok thanks
I’ll be honest, as a beginner modeler, this wasn’t much of a how to 😅 More like a demonstration. I was hoping for a step by step because I’m struggling with getting the different faces while still keeping good shape language. It’s very well built however, very pretty!
oh! yeah I agree, there are some tutorials on the channel which are more how to's, but this one definitely falls more under a timelapse category.
@@3dextrude Awesome, glad to hear!
do you hate blender?
I don't use it, it doesn't mean I hate it.
@Arcagex
😂
DISAPPOINTING!! You dont even show your plug-ins!!
I learned to nothing , fine ....
