ABOUT TODAYS VIDEO: How To Treat Hot Spots On Dogs With A Home Remedy
The important part here is not to use conventional antibiotics as they leave your dog with low immunity from depleted gut flora levels killed by the drug and the potential for further outbreaks of hot spots.
The remedy I have for you is far safer and should fix the hot spots, acting as a natural antibiotic while at the same time helping your dogs immune system.
The rule of thumb is one teaspoon of coconut oil to one drop of oregano oil. Simply mix the two together well and apply directly to the hot spot daily until it's gone.
You can make up a small batch to last months at a time, and now you'll have it at the ready for hot spots, itches, stings, bites and bugs.
    • Add 4 Tbsp gently melted coconut oil to an empty jam jar or other small glass container you can easily dip your fingers into.
    • Add 12 drops oregano oil.
    • Mix them both together well and use the cream as a topical antibiotic
Store in your kitchen cupboard and the mix will last for months and it's ok if your dog licks at what you've applied because it will continue to promote good health internally.
Do not use Oregano oil on pregnant or lactating dogs or have any allergy to thyme, mint or sage.
There's only one brand I trust 100% that have an excellent record, great customer care and the best quality oregano oil I use daily and it comes directly from Greece.
And remember, never use essential oils neat, they must always be diluted before using on your dog.

Thank you so much on your videos. I have been struggling with my Puggle and his hot spots. What is the best first step I should so to start to figure out what is causing his hot spots?
    Thank you in Advance

Hi Carina, the cause is more than likely due to the kibble only diet you feed your Puggle.
A kibble only diet does not give your dog enough of the nutrients they need and over time health niggles develope like hot spots, skin issues, ear problems and so on. This is because of yeast build-up in the body from too many carbohydrates and additives in kibbles. So this is the first place to start making a few small changes and watch the difference it makes.
I recommend my free guide: healthydogforlife.com/guide to get started and if you want to further the positive impact of adding a few extras to your Puggles kibble meals, then I highly recommend my eBook: Feed Your Dog Better: healthydogforlife.com/feed-your-dog-better-book-by-dan-scott/
In that book I have the Healthier Kibble Diet which maybe where you can make an easy start on doing the best for your dog.
Between this hot spot remedy and the Healthier Kibble Diet, your Puggle will be in so much better health and vitality.. Not the mention, no more hot spots!
Also be careful on giving as less drugs as possible like antibiotics, flea&tick, de-worming etc as there is a natural alternative to all of them.

I have a similar problem with my Puggle. I wonder if this can also help with alopecia in dogs. No red spots, just bear areas with hair loss. Bacterial or fungal skin infections usually have an underlying allergy component too. I will be taking him to the vet on Friday. Thanks!

Hi JoAn, this video has all the answers: ua-cam.com/video/2LkzSgeOpGw/v-deo.html And the natural treatment is listed in the description - highly effective too.
If you don't have to get the vaccine, don't get it is my advice, the side effects build over time to cause those auto immune diseases, vets think is from something else.
An additional protocol... if you feed kibble, get the free guide: healthydogforlife.com/guide (very helpful).

Interesting, could be kidney issues from not working properly. I'd start with some fresh food added to the diet to get at the underlying problem. Eggs, lots of veg and sardines and less 30% kibbles in the meal.
This will feed the skin and hair will begin to grow back.

Doesn’t the oil of oregano sting?

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  10 місяців тому

It's acrid and must be mixed with a carrier oil. Once mixed, it's fine, just a bit tingly. When a cold, for eample, is brewing, I add 4 drops to a tsp olive oil and down the neck. This I find a little sharp/acrid/tingly but the payoff is a better feeling almost instantly and it wears off fast.. and of course no cold comes on.

It's an idea but one I would not recommend. The smell of Vicks is a strong smell coming from the use of camphor, menthol, and eucalyptus oil. All these chemicals and oils are toxic to dogs. It is not a medication recommended for dogs due to the toxicity attributed to the core ingredients.

Day 1: Amazingly the dog that despises all kinds of medicine w/the most dramatic resistance possible didn’t mind the mixture being applied (used a soft basting brush) late evening. Impressive improvement to his skin just overnight. All redness gone from the hot spots. Skin looks healthy & the dog literally appears happier. He sits calmly while the mixture is applied & I love the smell.
The Oil of Oregano recommended here is very high quality. This is amazing. Going to follow the directions to add it to kibble as well. Extremely impressed because it makes a pet owner feel horrible trying to treat hot spots & watching them grow/multiply & the skin getting worse. This mixture stopped that progression. THANK YOU so much!!

Day 3: Day 3: Our 12 year old dog literally sits still for application of the mixture. His skin is already healthy & his coat is starting to fill in the hot spots. Over 20 years ago a vet prescribed steroids for my first dog who was 11 at the time. The steroids “fertilized” cancer cells that we didn’t know about & he died from the cancer within 12 months. So when this dog suddenly chewed hot spots into his skin we had to find a real remedy. Dan Scott’s remedy worked so well that we’re going to follow his advice for all 3 dogs. Thank you! The most amazing remedy for curing/healing & saved us hundreds of dollars in vet bills! 🙏 Thanks again to Dan Scott. No further updates are necessary.
