The vet diagnosed my eight year old rescue dog with atopic dermatis last fall. The medication bought from my vet did little to aleviate his issues, but it did cause some worrysome side effects. After many attemps to determine the cause, I recently changed his food to single protein (duck/lentils) grain free (Nutrisource Vita) He used to eat salmon/sweet potatoe - grain free until I watched a documentary on farmed salmon (contamination). He is doing much better - no more ear infections/hot spots and itching. I admire your bravery in the face of the "big pharma".
Thank you! The dog food I have been using, (that worked) just changed their formula, and my dogs all had a reaction to the new version. So I have been stressing about what to feed them. I've never heard of that brand and will look into it. Thank you for the suggestion!
Thank you so much for this information my dog just started with the itching and I had just started feeding him salmon thinking he was allergic to chicken. I will definitely be switching his food.
Bingo! My vet changed our girl with yeast in her belly to single source dog food , no change, I would prefer raw) I bet it is the salmon.
I switched from beef and chicken to salmon. My dog was doing well but it's starting up again. Will try duck based foods.
I just bought chicken soup dog food with no grain and it is Salmon and brown rice .
My dog chews his paws after his walk. After ruling out other options, I concluded my dog has contact dermatitis allergy to a grass. Timothy is probably the culprit.
As soon as we come in from a walk, I wash his paws with water and a mild soap, then rinse and dry. He no longer chews his paws.
That’s great. I’ve heard of other dogs having that issue but we have not experienced that with our boys. I’m glad you found something that works for you 2.
Look at Tula, sitting there so well behaved.
I'm a retired Vet nurse... your information is spot on!!
(pun intended 😃)
Yuck yuck yuck😊 .thats a good pun.
My dog has environmental allergies. I feel so bad for him. He's also allergic to chicken duck and turkey. Thanks for giving me remedies to help control his itching. It was educational ❤
I really appreciate getting a holistic veterinarian's advice. I'd much rather avoid vet meds that are both costly, but more importantly come with bad side effects.
I agree. We have been using more and more alternative methods for our boys for a couple of years. Making sure we get proper education and products is a must as well.
So true. My dog died from CYTOPOINT shot 3 days ago which the vet claims to have no side effects. She died within a month of administration. Such a horrible death
Vaccination > chronic diseases, auto-immune diseases. We stopped the shots, changed to organic raw diet & nothing toxic. Our current oldest K9 is a 20 yr old Toy Poodle mix who has no chronic illnesses. God bless you, Dr. Jones for all the good you do, especially through these videos & your website.
You're welcome
Hello. I'm wondering what about when he goes for walks and what not ? Rabbit pee, all the wild diseases? How do u protect them? Just wondering because I wish to go all natural for mt babies I don't want to do shots but I want to protect them for any diseases
Incredible your oldest is 20 years old!!! Amazing!!
@@anitahardesty2163 He has since passed away but yes, he was 20 yrs old & had no chronic or auto-immune diseases. His eyes were still clear & bright. He played everyday & loved to lay on the grass in the sun while we tended to our garden. We were so blessed to have him & so grateful to have learned about natural pet rearing.
@@ranasawah9198 I learned everything I could about how to give them good health & keep their immune system strong. Learned the truth about vax, pharma, toxins, food/nutrition, their correct diet (organic raw), about herbs & homeopathy. I wasn't afraid of disease bc I knew what we'd do if something happened & knew that the best defense is a strong immune system. You must be comfortable & confident in what you choose. Do not be guided by fear. We are raising our last 2 dogs the same way & hope to have them get to 20 yrs or more. I would never vax any living being. It's the worst thing one can do.
It would be so nice, if you would list the 5 things in the description box.📝
What fun would that be…

I am so grateful I found your page. You make more sense than the last 4 vets i saw out of 6 total. Only one truly cared about my PeggySue. He retired and Im done playing russian roulette with doctors for my dog. I have encountered evil in these people and they really don't care abt her. One said it was cruel of me to let her live coz she is special. She has multiple health issues and you address them all....thank you
Thank you...very informative!!! Tula is such a good dog!!!!

Some great suggestions here. My Staffy Pibble has had allergies her whole life and we've managed with medication. My American Bully puppy is showing signs of allergies. Going to do a food allergy test and see where things go. If it's environmental I will try some of these as alternatives to meds. Thank you!
Thank you so much! You are so appreciated.
Welcome

Thank you Doctor 👍🏼❤️
You're welcome
Thank you so much. How about benadryl?
My dog ( a miniature poodle) was having TERRIBLE allergies after her last vaccines in May. ( won’t be doing that again!) she was itching horribly and even her fur was coming off of her paws and feet
We started giving her Ivermectin- three days ago her skin is no longer red and horribly inflamed! She is no longer licking and biting her paws and feet! It’s even decreased her yeasty ears and paws.
I bathe her with a shampoo I made ( 1 cup green tea, 2 Tblsp apple cider vinegar, 2 Tbsp of baby Castile Shampoo. I bathe her with this twice weekly when she was itching the most, other wise only once weekly .
I can hardly believe how amazing Ivermectin works in bringing down the severe inflammation she was suffering with.
Where can I get ivermectin pls?
Ivermectin is a heartworm preventative for dogs
I get from Amazon.

Thank you!!
Thank you Dr Andrew I will try these medicines for Harley's allergies. He is having a time with allergies this summer. I have changed his food and he got worse scratching on his sides. Trying a lot of salmon skin and boiled chicken and veggies cooked in chicken broth hoping this will help him.❤ Blessings
Thank you! I used to live in Anchorage Alaska and none my cocker spaniels had a problem with itching. Then we moved to Oregon and Washington state and my poor little Boaz itches like crazy, so I know it's environmental. I will definitely try these suggestions. I love your holistic approach to our furry children and feel good that it's a team effort to help them live their best lives.
I hope it works well
My dog is also Boaz, straight out of the book of Ruth.
Also, try washing the paws when you come in from walks before they get it in their bed/spread it around.
God bless you 🙏 ❤️!!!!
Thank God this worked. I got all of it.
thank you for this. We are having a really difficult time with our one doggie.
Same here.
Thanks!
Thank you so much for this detailed information! i just got a foster dog who is a Shar Pei and poor things jus eats her paws and legs up. She has no fur left. She is already on medication that doesn't seem to be helping, and is already on a sensitive skin and stomach diet. So looking for other alternatives once she gets done with her medication.
What Would you think of using Slippery Elm Bark for a dog that has atopic dermatitis who gets frequent ear/eye infections???
Thank you.
Are all these items got in a herbal shop. My dog Bella has itchy ears. Vets charge so much money. Your channel really helps. Great channel. Thank you 👍
What do you recommend for yeast problems?
I’m so excited that I found your channel. I hv an 8 yr old Multipoo that suffers with allergies. For the most part
aproquel works. I’m retired and paying out $220.00 for a 100 tablets 3.6 mg. It’s certainly a strain on my budget.
Fingers crossed that I can go your route. Hopefully it will be a win, win situation. Tku. 🐶
How’s your dog now?
I would like to know as well
Me too?
Very interesting message! I wonder if I’ll give my dog cooked turkey with pumpkin to stop her Duarte’s, am I have to cook the turkey when it state: fully cooked? How to feed her this fully cooked frozen turkey for her Duarte’s condition? Thanks a lot for your advice & great help!
I was wondering about Hemp Seed Oil if that helps as well?
Thank you again for great video! One question; Could you tell / know, what supplement is mifloran KH ? I read that it can help prevent lipomas on dogs, but what is the safe and best supplement for a 11 year old with a autoimmune issues? My dog has developed 2 lipomas more, and it worries me alot.
Can you use Hista-eze for dogs? It’s a blend of quercetin, stinging nettle etc.
My dog has been great free of ear infections since I changed his food the big difference from the last food was the food I have him on now is potato free both white and sweet potato free as well as grain free. The protein is is white fish instead of salmon that was more less a cost cutting on my part but I think the white fish still does good. It also contains flaxseed as the 3rd or 4th ingredient but a put about a shot of flaxseed oil in the kibble as well. Flaxseed oil is also relatively cheap it's a cheaper alternative to fish oil. Also my mums dog has been doing great since I put him on 95% curcumin before I got him on it he had the hardest time getting around with his bad hips. Im greatful for this channel it's helped 2 dogs.
So happy to hear that! Please feel free to share my videos so we can reach more pet parents 🙏🏼

I adopted a dog who had chronic ear infection. The shelter already had him scheduled for the surgery to remove his ear canal :( I talked them out of it, took him to my personal vet and a dermatologist. We treated him with some medication, it was that bad. We found him to be allergic to beef. Today he has both ears intact and has not had ear infection in 12 months.
What food do you feed your doggo?
And how did you figure out that your doggo was allergic to beef?
@katk3381 not sure if this question was meant for me or the other person, but at the time I was feeding my dog Boreal grain free while fish. He had been doing great on it, however I've had to change his food once again because Boreal raised their prices and I can't afford that food anymore, partly because I got another dog it's just too expensive. I now feed my dog First Mate with Lamb I've also took a chance with the grain friendly version because I don't exactly know if he has a grain allergy or if the breader just said feed him grain free as a way to be on the safe side. But I thought we'll the breeders I got my other dog from had her on a food with grains and chicken as the protein that may as well keep it that way she's had zero ear infections and she's almost a year old. The only difference with my one dog that had the ear infections is his protein is lamb but its still grain friendly I know for a fact he's allergic to chicken, so his is lamb
Dr. Jones' Ultimate Canine Health Formula (30 Day Supply)
Just bought it. Do I have to buy all if these as well????
I lost my dog 3yrs ago. But I still have his beloved brother, called Cat.
Can dog treatments like these work on cats as well?
Cerenia, and BHI Allergy has helped my Chronic Bronchitis afflicted pupper a lot.
Will be checking into these other products too.
Which brand of Plant Sterols would you recommend?
tHANK YOU
Thank you, I have a dog that’s allergic to life. We’ve even been to the veterinarian dermatologist and had the patch tests done. He does daily sublingual drops but this time of year we still have horrible break through itching. I’m going to try some of these!
I hope they work well
Hey any update on your fur babe?..
Lmao… not funny but I did giggle a little when you said allergic to life! That’s my boy! I ask him all the time is there anything that won’t break you out or cause you to itch?! Please just tell momma because this is crazy… 😑
@@VeterinarySecretsis sea kelp good for Frenchie’s with allergies also what multi vitamins or supplements from your site would you recommend for allergic Frenchie’s I don’t trust anyone else’s also something for gut health thanks 😊
Thank you so very much.............................
Could we give soaked chia, hemp and flax seeds if we cant afford to keep up with krill oil? Is there a difference between both for omega support?
Love this video. Had to come back and stop/start and got these all written down. It's payday, I'm off to start with the omega3 krill. Poor baby, we will win with your help. Thank you so much
Hi. I hope all is well now. I have just made a list for my newly adopted bulldog. He is so miserable right now. He's been stuffed full of pharmaceuticals and vaccinations up til now. I believe the natural way will be much better.
How is your pet today?
Good luck on your bully. Poor dogs can suffer so much with skin and ear issues. Love this doctor, he is my go-to dude
I just add water no salt sardines👍daily beautiful coat no itch simple we love you Mr andrew jones ❤
That's great to hear
Hello Debbie is the sardines fresh or in a tin please
💜 thank you
You're welcome
Yes, i can back this up. My dog gets itchy in the summer and spring. Only started last year as she was getting older. Last year was awful but this year i was prepared. Fish oil works amazing but please remember it takes at least three weeks to build up in their system so start it early long before itching season starts. Also used quercetin. Use ear wash if they get waxy build up or itchy ears. Use it for a week and then every other day for one more week. Johnsson itch spray is cheap and helps their itchy paws. Antihistamines work a little. They're not amazing but do offer some relief.
Also used seaweed for dogs (kelp).
Does the Johnson itch spray on their paws ok to ingest if they start licking them…my dog licks her’s constantly. Hope you respond thank you.
@@user-jf9yz2rl6s try staying with her for at least 30 mins after spraying and don't let her lick. It's absorbed by then. My dog licks her paws too and I've had no issues using the spray, but honestly if u use it twice a day and fish oils etc she won't lick her paws half as much.
Thank you Doc! Have a Labrador Retriever and working on the allergies that seem to be worse this year.
Our 13 year old chocolate lab is suffering from hip
Dysplasia. Upped his pain meds but he just sleeps from gabaphantin 200 mg three times a day.any suggestions?
I have a lab mix -keeps itching did you find anything that works ?
Thank you for all the great information, I have a question?
When giving your dog theses supplements for allergies do they need to be a certain brand, organic, etc?
Krill oil 500 mg - 20 lbs
Betasitosterol 100 mg - 20 lbs
Quercetin 100 mg - 10 lbs
Bee Propolis 100 mg - 10 lbs
Melatonin 1 mg - 10 lbs
Nettle 1000 mg - 20 lbs
Sunflower oil topical
Apple cider vinegar 1 tbsp with 1 cup warm water topical
This is much needed! Just figured out my dog is allergic to Chicken. She was shedding alott and I noticed she itched after feeding her dog kibble. I was feeding her natures recipe chicken and rice. I recently watched your video and it inspired me to feed her the lean ground turkey, carrots, sunflower oil, brown rice, and eggs. Coconut oil also helps her a-lot she loves it. Will be purchasing your krill oil thank you!!!
You're welcome:)
Arr u rubbing the cocunut oil on her or feeding it to her
@@tjones5399 I do both
Tip: If both ears are affected, then it's likely a protein allergy. Switch protein source. But what if it's only one ear?
Dry itchy skin...a small amount of organic coconut oil each evening works for my little Minpinzu. 🌞
Good tip, thank you for sharing
How do you get your dog to eat the coconut oil?
@@freeasabird5187 Mines loves it with a spoon she licks it.
Hi doc,
Would you be able to answer my question please
I have a doberman 6 month old female in the middle of her eyes and jaw she has lumps on both side's they look like swollen glands do you know what these could be like some kind of saliva glands or something and is there any natural remedies I could do to help the inner corners of her eyes are always red hope you can help.
I'd like to try Quercetin for my pup who's been on apoquel almost his entire life. He's 66lbs, according to your dosage he'll be getting 660mg of Quercetin daily. Will that be okay? Is there a max dosage? He's currently on 16mg Apoquel once a day and we soak his paws daily and are trying nettle leaves in his food too. Would love to hear from you.
Could I use Pau D’arco for a yeast belly on my dog?
When my puggle, Bella gets really itchy- I put her in the tub & run a warm bath. I add about 2 C. of Baking Soda. I use a big cup to just stir the water & scoop it -pour it over her... I just sit w/ her & keep her in there as long as I can, scooping the water over her. Then o take her out & dry her. NO RINSE.
It really works short term. & lasts about a day- no itching.
Thanks for another great video, Doc.
Good to see you’ve recovered from your fall. That was a pretty bad fall... really glad you’re ok.
Love & Light to you & your family.
Have you ever tried rinsing with ACV/water mix? After bathing I always rinse my little dogs with 1/4c ACV into about a 16 oz container of water. It helps with skin issues, repels fleas (flea meds make my dogs skin super itchy), stops itching. May take doing it a few times to see results.
Hello Dr , do you have any good alternatives for plant sterols for dogs , I looked for that new roots brand and is not available in USA at all . Thanks !!
What would be the best kind of fish oil omega-3 to get for my dog?
QUESTION- If I have a 30 lb dog, and a krill capsule that is 1000mg, could I do one pill every other day? Or would that not be a good way to do it for her system?
Dr. Jones, do you still recommend Krill oil for a dog who has IMTP? I read Omega 3's have anti platelet effects but she suffers from seasonal allergies (intense licking of paws and butt)
Does regular Fish Oil work and what would be dose? I have a large bottle of Kirkland Fish oil and was wondering if that might help. My girl usually runs me $500-1000 a year for skin issues and a shot for her (144lbs) costs me over $300 and lasts maybe 2 months best.
How do you dose a tiny dog about 10-12 lbs?
