Jamal is still one of the best deadlifters in the world, and is part of the very select group that has lifted 500kg, so it's not like thor is super humble for listening to him, it's super likely he has tons to learn from jamal especially since jamal has tons of experience with meets and prepping for weightlifting comps.

@soft piano music so roughly 18 months ago I stared a new program called 5/3/1. And from the start I decided I'll just stick to hook and only hook. In my personal experience changing grip styles between warm up to working set actually screws up my setup so I warmup with hook and do main set with hook. I'm not sure how long it took me to build up calluses but I got them now and i don't feel any pain. But if I were to guess...i would say about a month or so to get used to it. Also I used the most aggressive knurled bar just to speed things up lol i think it worked. So 3 days ago I pulled 330 lbs for 18 straight reps without any thumb pain or discomfort. So just give it time and you'll get used to it. Again I feel like it's just overall better and most importantly my setup feels consistent no matter the day vs with straps I felt some days the setup just was just blah lol.

In your opinion, in 8 months, can Hafthor master it to the level of Breaking Benni's 460.4 kg WR? 151 kg to go from 310 which he pulled here.

@@Nirsterkur it's hard to say as Hafthor only now has tried hook grip once but if he trains it then yes it's possible as his grip is already pretty strong but it's really hard to say if he can hold that much weight with hook grip his arms are long enough.

If you are as tall al Thor conventional Is way easier. Sumo Is easier for t-rex people. If you can stay vertical with conventional it's easier the conventional. Also a lot of people do not even have the mobility to do sumo.
