      Hi, not a flame or anything but I just thought I'd point out that you;re absolutely NOT supposed to press out on the clean and jerk, you can only "snap" the weight up in a "jerk", not press it. Even a hint of pressing will result in a foul and zero lift. The same applies to the snatch although it;s essentially impossible to press the weight in that lift.

    Great video all round. Chloe is a very talented young lady and a brilliant teacher too. As for Eddie, this is the Eddie that we all like to see. As one of the strongest men to ever walk the planet, Eddie showed great humility in learning from a younger person. He also provided us all with a great tip about avoiding Ego lifting and avoiding injury. This video is a brilliant example of Eddie, as both a man and a father, teaching his son and his audience about learning from others no matter who they might be, showing respect and creating a positive environment for all to flourish. Bravo to all involved in this video.

    I severly struggled with my front rack mobility when I first learned to clean and front squat. I took it as a challenge and I constantly work on it; from my wrists, to my triceps, to my shoulder, lats, etc. I can now put the bar on my back and still bend my elbows forward as if they are in the front rack position. My back feels much looser than before, and throwing weight above my head feels way more comfortable. Thank you for your videos. They are entertaining and motivating.

    I always thought it is a bad idea to bring your son to the gym since I thought he was too young for the gym in general, but watching you taking really good care, keeping him in the safe zone of training and not overdoing it on him but still encouraging him to do strong but not going to far because he might hurt himself with trying to compete with grown ups, I now changed my mind and do think that it is perfect to continue and you are responsible enough and should continue to encourage him to grow into this and be like JUST DO the sports, which is what you have done for years now for so many of us, being a good example. Olympic lifting is the most fun lifting I've found. It demands strength, power, flexibility, range of motion, balance/stability, timing, form, speed, confidence, and mental grit. Am I good, no, not really I can clean and jerk bodyweight and snatch about 70% of that. But hey what percentage of the world can hold their own body weight overhead? Yet alone be able to get it from the ground to overhead on their own? I mean I'd bet the world wide number is less than 20%.

      @dummy9517 11 місяців тому +8

      @@Lee-ic2yn yeah but that's actually a pretty poor judgement.
      Transforming from that "more awkward" to proper weightlifting is a MASSIVE JOB, and the mobility it needs is crazy.
      Just explosive DL to front raise to getting under the bar is a massive task, also front squatting and cleaning will take time due to flexibility and mobility issues, but it can be taught to some lighter guys(like Novikov comes to mind, he can actually jerk, saw his stone bb lifts)
      Sure, these guys even with bad technique can oversnatch and overclean even many of the middleweight male weightlifters, but that's not the point. Given their size, especially the fact that they are likely doing it for the first time with a massive physique which is hard to train something new, makes it difficult

    Eddie, I have to say it is so much "major win" that you brought along your song.
    Not only that you got to show what you love , and with other people.
    You are doing really great in parenting, and I am too inpexeciended to cath her name, my deepest apologies
    , cause my parents did never want to show how they got forward in life, it was such a "old school" method... But you are doing something again! You managed to the be the "beast" of lifting so much, but I'm more enjoying seeing you being the father of the year! Long story short, keep up the great work Eddie!
