Thank you for the info for a sec i was afraid i installed lifters wrong on a 5.3 but now i see theres no way to install lifters wrong. Was so scared id have to take the head off again to make sure i put em in right
Would it make sense to then bleed the lifters some before installing them to be able to get the preload correct? If you soak them in oil and they're super stiff, couldn't that affect the pre loading process?
My replacement lifters also line up top or bottom. I'm choosing bottom as the oil galley is on the bottom. So assuming more oiling for the lifter this way.
@@Dougdea No. I pulled the cam and lifters and they look brand new. So I put a BTR Truck Norris cam in with Morel lifters and new valve springs and it is now making a different but similar sound. I replaced the timing chain and gears also. The rockers look perfect and my motor has definitely been apart before. I bought it from Copart so I don't know what the previous owner had it apart for but its SUPER clean inside with new parts. Im baffled man, idk what it was or what the noise now is.
Awesome video. Answered all my questions and some more. Thanx.
Glad it was helpful!

Why did you only soak your lifters for 2 hours? I was always told that you had to soak them for at least 24 hours is that not true?
It won’t hurt to do it longer
Nice video helped me out thanks
glad it helped
so linkbar lifters like a johnson 2116lsr would not use the trays?
What did you use to get the packaging grease off?
So what if holes are towards pistons or cam
So, I purchased morel lifters for mine. The hole is either on top or bottom versus the traditional lifter. Which way would you recommend up or down?

@@Tixrok Do you suspect a lifter turned in the tray? Because im almost certain that's what happened to mine.

Just tore apart a 2015 Camaro SS. The lifters on one half of the bracket are not the same size as the other half?
Probably active fuel management or direct fuel management.. certain lifters shut down to save fuel . Started in 2007
Displacement on Demand, active fuel management
