+Tom Howland I'm with you on that. I first learned about him about a month and a half ago when I saw him at this show. He's coming back near me next month so there will be more video on the way soon.
Set the tempo satisfyingly slower than the Cream version. Since the Clapton rendition begs for improvement, make sure the element of noodling is pushed to the forefront. Not being sure that Clapton could duplicate his performance, get an ensemble approach going. Play with just some subtle hints of Cream arrangement, and dumb down the bass so it us perfunctory. I love So no and Koch, but this isn't even on the same level as their video at the studio. Expensive cover.....
No where near clapton who has total control over melody and builds constantly. Claptons solo with cream is still staggering. This is great technique over musicality. In 500 years time people will still be talking about clapton and Hendrix, not these boys noodling.
JD Simo is fast becoming my favorite guitar player. This kid rocks.

Greg Koch is by far the best player on stage. He smokes both of the other guys.
Seriously.
+larry geetar i dont think he would like to read that about him
music is about collaboration not competition
You probably are in need of looking up more of Simo's playing then. Greg is a beast, but JD is king.
Looks like Johnny and Koch are trying to impress Simo.
Does Johnny A ever turn the wah off?
Yes..... If you listen to his stuff, you'd know that
