Greg is one of the most talented guitar players of all time and truly great ! Nobody sounds like him and the sense of humour in his playing is unparalleled
Same! I love the humor and quotations. I think Guthrie Govan has similar habit of throwing in these musical jokes. It's almost like they have the instrument so figured out that it's all a joke for them 😅
I’ve seen so many of Greg’s videos I still watch every new one I see and I still smile the entire time in disbelief of how good he is. The absolute most entertaining there ever was
Excellent Greg!!!! I needed that desperately!!!! Haven't seen a good show like that for some time!!!! Takes me back to when I smiled more!!!! I'm getting to have to fire up some of my stuff!!!!
10:13 - Greg pulling that perfect cartoon train-horn sound, completely out of nowhere, is the most humbling thing I've ever seen a guitarist do. Mind-blowing.
Got to see him do a guitar clinic a fee years ago. I was the first one on the scene so I got to talk to him for a few minutes and yep, it's true, really nice guy. Then, maybe even better, I got to sit about 5 feet away while he played. Freaking amazing.
This man is an absolute master of the axe. I mean, come on! He can do whatever he pleases on guitar and it sounds soooo good!!! This level of guitar takes years of mastery!
Came to watch the unbelievable, incomparable Greg Koch and the gristle and the gravy was right there! Couldn’t leave without also being blown away by the B3 player and drummer whose playing and sense of time is just stellar!
He used to come in to Uncle Bob's Music in West Allis /Milwaukee all the time, when I worked there. I remember he recorded an album with T Lavitz of the Dixie Dregs, with Dave Neitzche (Hope I spelled that right, Dave) engineering the recording. Jim Eannelli, Mark Panier, Bobby "Wayout" Way, Rick Forkes, Ihor "E" Tanin all were there, and Bob Zenoni was still alive... Man, what good times those were. When Greg would come in, he was the nicest, most humble guy you ever met, even though he was so witty, he could have easily eviscerated us verbally. What a great guy. He SO deserves his success!!!! 🙂👍
There's guitarists and then there are guitar players, and then there is Greg Koch. I've played at playing for 55 years and the sad thing is I could never hope to come close. Waaah!!
Wow! Thank you YT algorithm for this one. Brilliantly put together and I love how he's able to put humor into his playing. The high speed playing of The Forbidden Song was particularly brilliant. We old guys are full of surprises.
Holy Crap! Just insanely good. precision, speed, creativity, all while playing over the changes and never sounding tired. Lot of tricks and surprise notes I never heard . Was not expecting the Zeppelin and Beatles licks to come out!! How freaking cool!! Thanks!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Absolutely stellar performance as always, greg never disappoints! And the band is not too shabby also, loved the organ solo. Would love to see.these guys in person 😊😊
I just got blindsided, had to check my compass, what the heck did I just witness! Smooth Mastery with the Telecaster never even knowing the thrashing it just received. Bravo!
Greg is truly one of the greats ! If you transcribed that solo it would not only be a historical masterpiece of guitar greats, as well as hearing someone’s own unique and creative voice! Bravo!
There’s just something about “Live” music that gets me every time. Perfect setting and awesome playing as always 👍 I can smell the stale beer and old cigarette smoke. The feeling that goes through you watching is incredible. It’s more fun on stage though 😊
agreed, I just 'discovered' Greg on Beato's channel and I was shocked i never heard of him. Definitely a lot of Gatton there, and Danny was and is my all time fav guitarist.
I'm lucky enough to live in Wisconsin, where Greg and KMT are based. I've seen him play live 5 times in the past 18 months. $15-25 to see one of the best guitar players on the planet in a small club. Any true guitar fan should not miss out! Greg and KMT tour all around the states and abroad. KMT does not disappoint
Love that he keeps it musical. Is see so many guitarist that could be great but all they do is rip as many riffs that they already know. No actual musicianship bothered with. You tube taught geniuses? Nope. This guy is the real deal. I bet he knows how to play simple outstanding melodic stuff as well.
And he proves it every day. Just by being himself. Every time I see Greg play, I just walk away shaking my head. As much as I love Steve Via, Zakk Wylde, etc., Mr. Koch is from another planet.
This sounds really good. Fun! Enjoy experiment. Explore improvise to your heart's content. God bless this truly just sound good. Fun for the audience as well. God bless!
Greg, your sizzling gristle guitar playing has completely melted off my face!! This particular video encompasses your skill and range like nothing else I’ve ever seen!! Is there any possibility you would ever come to Sacramento, California for a show? Carry On, brother!!
Greg is such a brilliant string strangler....he keeps the legacy of Roy Clark meets Jerry Reed alive and well. Just on steroids. A guitarist who always makes me chuckle! Mad respect to the man with a great first name!
We play whatever we can, Greg plays whatever he wants.
Ain’t that the truth
Too true.
Amen.
What a great phrase ❤
Well Said Damn..!.. 🔥 Man, absolutely a Flamethrower on that guitar. Woop woop..!..

Yep
He should be the opener for the next G3 tour. He'd make them earn their headliner spots every night.
G3 should open for G1 😂
He should be one of the 3
@@WawakGuitar He's already 6 of them.
No one would want to follow him!

Outstanding! He's a wizard and he knows every song seriously!

Forget stocks and bonds, this guy invested time and effort in himself and his love of music, and it shows, blindingly, always smiling - thank you greg
The guy on the Keyboard is a legend.
He does a lot of stuff that I’ve never seen anyone else do before. Nobody has more talent than him.
Not sure about that. But clearly talented for sure.
Greg Koch - Grandmaster of guitar magic...
Excellent Greg!!!! I needed that desperately!!!! Haven't seen a good show like that for some time!!!! Takes me back to when I smiled more!!!! I'm getting to have to fire up some of my stuff!!!!
mike I get that. Im finally smiling and got me inspiration
The gristle is relentless
10:13 - Greg pulling that perfect cartoon train-horn sound, completely out of nowhere, is the most humbling thing I've ever seen a guitarist do. Mind-blowing.
And the trailer sound just before that 10:12
the man did a CHOO CHOO on a guitar. He made the guitar, and stringed instrument go ….CHOO CHOO. 🚂😂
Gregory at his usual Best. What a show. Thank you!
Absolute mastery personified. Unique entertainer, true virtuoso player and stand-up comic all in one. Nobody like him.

10,000 hours and no hobbies, except guitar playing, awesome talent.
Greg is incredible..i love watching him just effortly tear it up.
This inspires me to be a more creative noodler 🎉❤ I love it
Greg plays way better than many many famous and rich guitarists i know.
I just love Greg's playing. There are a lot of great players out there. Then there is Greg Koch. And he's playing through a Koch amp. Perfect.
Хей приятю, аз съм Николай Коч-ев. И аз свиря от 1970г. Харесвам това което правиш. Браво!

Yes he’s good… but very unoriginal hence…. 30 folk in the crowd
Unoriginal? Never would have guessed that would be said
Wow! Thank you YT algorithm for this one. Brilliantly put together and I love how he's able to put humor into his playing. The high speed playing of The Forbidden Song was particularly brilliant. We old guys are full of surprises.
They did a medley and the end of the Tulsa show that was about 15 minutes long and I felt like passing out when it finished. Unbelievable!!
Holy Crap! Just insanely good. precision, speed, creativity, all while playing over the changes and never sounding tired. Lot of tricks and surprise notes I never heard .

I’m fully convinced Greg Koch IS the best guitar player in the world, disguised as your typical humble local tavern pop in player.
Truth

Must be tough for a genius like Greg who is living in a world of musically retarded fans who aren't capable of appreciating his soulful virtuosity
Awesome and outstanding playing, as always!!!

There are a bunch of absolutely best players alive. Hear of a new one almost everyday.
That was awesome!
I saw him at the Wild Horse Saloon in Nashville (at the 2000 Summer NAMM).
GREAT show!
Greg and his unfathomably bottomless, gargantuan bag of tricks! 🤘🏼😸🤘🏼Not a meer mortal.
