Greg is one of the most talented guitar players of all time and truly great ! Nobody sounds like him and the sense of humour in his playing is unparalleled
Same! I love the humor and quotations. I think Guthrie Govan has similar habit of throwing in these musical jokes. It's almost like they have the instrument so figured out that it's all a joke for them 😅
10:13 - Greg pulling that perfect cartoon train-horn sound, completely out of nowhere, is the most humbling thing I've ever seen a guitarist do. Mind-blowing.
Greg is such a brilliant string strangler....he keeps the legacy of Roy Clark meets Jerry Reed alive and well. Just on steroids. A guitarist who always makes me chuckle! Mad respect to the man with a great first name!
I’ve seen so many of Greg’s videos I still watch every new one I see and I still smile the entire time in disbelief of how good he is. The absolute most entertaining there ever was
Greg is truly one of the greats ! If you transcribed that solo it would not only be a historical masterpiece of guitar greats, as well as hearing someone’s own unique and creative voice! Bravo!
There's guitarists and then there are guitar players, and then there is Greg Koch. I've played at playing for 55 years and the sad thing is I could never hope to come close. Waaah!!
If you think he's unoriginal, you clearly haven't heard enough of his music. Also there are plenty of talented and original music makers that have weak crowds. Top 40 music gets big crowds, but that's some of weakest garbage ever.
Holy Crap! Just insanely good. precision, speed, creativity, all while playing over the changes and never sounding tired. Lot of tricks and surprise notes I never heard . Was not expecting the Zeppelin and Beatles licks to come out!! How freaking cool!! Thanks!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I have a blog and write about all sorts of topics, some of them are related to playing guitar. The other day i wrote an essay titled "The Problem With Comparing Guitar Gods". Near the end I state the Gregory Koch is one of the most underrated guitarists playing today. The guy is stupefying! The way he can soar over the fingerboard and seamlessly cover six genres in just two or three minutes puts him in a league of his own!
He used to come in to Uncle Bob's Music in West Allis /Milwaukee all the time, when I worked there. I remember he recorded an album with T Lavitz of the Dixie Dregs, with Dave Neitzche (Hope I spelled that right, Dave) engineering the recording. Jim Eannelli, Mark Panier, Bobby "Wayout" Way, Rick Forkes, Ihor "E" Tanin all were there, and Bob Zenoni was still alive... Man, what good times those were. When Greg would come in, he was the nicest, most humble guy you ever met, even though he was so witty, he could have easily eviscerated us verbally. What a great guy. He SO deserves his success!!!! 🙂👍
Greg, your sizzling gristle guitar playing has completely melted off my face!! This particular video encompasses your skill and range like nothing else I’ve ever seen!! Is there any possibility you would ever come to Sacramento, California for a show? Carry On, brother!!
if he went out on a tour as the opening act for a well known instrumentalist who played large-ish venues, Greg would be headlining those same sized venues within a couple years. Problem is, who'd want to hire him for their opening act? Would YOU want to have to follow his show? See also: Back in the day, Black Sabbath having to go on stage after VH just opened for them. Doh!
The value is there I had a pete Anderson t and I played Greg's gristlemaster at Chicago music exchange, reverend provides high quality for a decent price imo I preferred the pete Anderson over Greg's signature guitar still great guitar though
We play whatever we can, Greg plays whatever he wants.
Ain’t that the truth
Too true.
Amen.
What a great phrase ❤

I just love Greg's playing. There are a lot of great players out there. Then there is Greg Koch. And he's playing through a Koch amp. Perfect.
Greg Koch is the greatest American electric guitarist living today. 🙌 🎸 ❤️ His seamless transitions are so smooth!

The one and the only Gristlemaster, ladies and gents! As good as it gets.
MattyK in the hizzay!
10:13 - Greg pulling that perfect cartoon train-horn sound, completely out of nowhere, is the most humbling thing I've ever seen a guitarist do. Mind-blowing.
I bet this guy tried emulating anything he heard on radio and TV when first he started out.
Outstanding! He's a wizard and he knows every song seriously!
And the nicest guy in the game.
This is absolutely the best guitar player alive ... INSANE!
Greg is such a brilliant string strangler....he keeps the legacy of Roy Clark meets Jerry Reed alive and well. Just on steroids. A guitarist who always makes me chuckle! Mad respect to the man with a great first name!
They did a medley and the end of the Tulsa show that was about 15 minutes long and I felt like passing out when it finished. Unbelievable!!
Gregory the Great. You gotta see him live.
Greg is the GOAT in my opinion. Nobody like him out there.
I’ve seen so many of Greg’s videos I still watch every new one I see and I still smile the entire time in disbelief of how good he is. The absolute most entertaining there ever was
He should be the opener for the next G3 tour. He'd make them earn their headliner spots every night.
G3 should open for G1 😂
He should be one of the 3
When I grow up I want to be Greg Koch. No body better!! Phenomenal trio.
Best guitarist in the galaxy rn
Greg and his unfathomably bottomless, gargantuan bag of tricks! 🤘🏼😸🤘🏼Not a meer mortal.

Oops... My bad. My point still holds up. Even to a gramar nazi. 😉

Boy i hope the band got some love!!!!
Awesome, Patrick! Greg's such a beast.
The stand up guitar comedian....only one and only Gregory Kochery
Boy can he play.....
He's on an entirely different level.
Greg is truly one of the greats ! If you transcribed that solo it would not only be a historical masterpiece of guitar greats, as well as hearing someone’s own unique and creative voice! Bravo!
I’m fully convinced Greg Koch IS the best guitar player in the world, disguised as your typical humble local tavern pop in player.
Truth
Love watching him so good.and I'm always jealous of Greg he gets to demo all those great guitars at wildwood

Greg is easily one of the greatest guitarist of our time, he is totally amazing mind blowing guitarist 🎸 ❤ 🔥 🔥 🔥 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏
Greg is incredible..i love watching him just effortly tear it up.
Mind blowing indeed. Greg is possibly the most entertaining guitar player on the planet.
There's guitarists and then there are guitar players, and then there is Greg Koch. I've played at playing for 55 years and the sad thing is I could never hope to come close. Waaah!!
Yes he’s good… but very unoriginal hence…. 30 folk in the crowd
If you think he's unoriginal, you clearly haven't heard enough of his music. Also there are plenty of talented and original music makers that have weak crowds. Top 40 music gets big crowds, but that's some of weakest garbage ever.
Unoriginal? Never would have guessed that would be said
Nothing like watching someone play so free. Greg is the best 😍
its always so good , having fun. thank you greg. what a gift ! dylan is a machine ...or maybe they're alien.
His vocabulary is seemingly never ending. Coolest chops of anybody.
These guys created fire!! 😂😂 Thanks for the share, Patrick!!

ANOTHER FINE CLINIC ❤
Ferocious
Holy Crap! Just insanely good. precision, speed, creativity, all while playing over the changes and never sounding tired. Lot of tricks and surprise notes I never heard .

A true master of the instrument!
Simply one of the very best currently alive
A born entertainer and show off. In a good way of course.
That guitar just filed a restraining order against Greg.
Greg is just sick!
So good.
WOW!!!!
Just mastery of the banjo roll alone is close to impossible on an electric.
OMG what a talent !
I gotta say man…you kick the shit out of Everyone.
Greg, your sizzling gristle guitar playing has completely melted off my face!! This particular video encompasses your skill and range like nothing else I’ve ever seen!! Is there any possibility you would ever come to Sacramento, California for a show? Carry On, brother!!
The Koch Marshall Trio, laddies & lassies. Don't forget to tip your mixologist and waitperson.

Breathtaking, jaw dropping performance 😳
WOW 👏
4:20 Greg lays down a Zep riff then goes total Koch. Wow.
No one's technically proficient than this guy. A conversation using just guitar with Guthrie would be awesome.
My goodness gracious...wow
Mind blown to smithereens !!!
Your right MIND BLOWING
This is some next level shit.
Insanity and what an incredible band !!!
What a drummer Dam
Dylan and Toby are no slouch.
beast
such A sick guitarist!!
Epic
He sells a lot of guitars. And now I want a Reverend.
The value is there I had a pete Anderson t and I played Greg's gristlemaster at Chicago music exchange, reverend provides high quality for a decent price imo
I preferred the pete Anderson over Greg's signature guitar still great guitar though
If I didn't see I wouldn't believe it's possible
Give him a backbeat and hold on tight.
Well gahdayum! 🥹
I got finger cramps listening to this.
The Gristlemeister. The Goat.
Frank Zappa would have really loved Greg I think :) I'd actually love to see him and Les Claypool get together.
Gristle is delicious!
Sounded like a Tommy Emmanuel nod at the beginning, pretty awesome.
i don't think ive ever heard greg play better
I'd say that Tele is just about broken in.
