Wow
Gregg is the best all around player today! want to hear him with Johnny Hilland!
Oh my, that was great!
Greg is a funny dude and a great guitar player. I love his wildwood videos.
That was brilliant. Two of my favourite guitar players on same stage! Thanks!
Just AWESOME!
JD Smooth
THAT was outstanding! BEST cover attempt I've ever seen, heard or FELT for this tune.
Did I ever say "better than the Allman Brothers"???? NO, I DID NOT. You pulled that one straight out of your own *ss ............because I plainly stated BEST COVER ATTEMPT. Furthermore: Trolling my comment that I posted OVER 8 YEARS AGO. Well it's painfully obvious that you're lonesome, bored, and starving for attention. Get a life. Lastly: Greg Koch is by far a better guitar player than anyone ever was in the Allman Brothers. And ANY accomplished guitarist who knows all about Greg Koch will tell you the same thing. @@josephfemoyer7218
ok...that was amazing!
Brilliant - you guys should work together more often!
Steve Roberts I agree completely. I wasn't familiar with J.D. before this, but he's awesome.
Awesome but Dickey still reins supreme on this song So tasty
I didnt kbnow Bill Ayers played drums!
Awesome. Almost as good as Dickie Betts and Warren Haynes... ALMOST!
The lick at 3:10 someone help!
its not very difficult to do at all its something he’s talked about in a instructional book of his and makes mention of it being a dickey bettes things as well as hearing jimmy herring doing something similar. I initially learned a take off on it from a guitar magazine or i think i saw orianthi do something like it with steve vai.
I actually could transcribe that out for you and some of the stuff that precedes it because i know what hes doing that descending line he does with the ringing open e string is pretty cool before he goes into the lick that you are talking about

I listened to it a couple of times and learned to play it by ear ' not that difficult at all.
Worthy effort of a "cover". With that said, neither guitarist stays true to how the song should be played, especially Greg Koch. Keep in mind there is the studio version, then four known "live" recordings of the song before Duane Allman's passing. Of course the sound quality is not good, but you can hear Duane and Dickey Betts, respectively, Here is the link:www.jambase.com/article/remembering-duane-allman-skydog-shines-blue-sky
There was only one Duane Allman. I respect talented musicians doing their thing, but some of the comments on here are a bit out of line.
Wayyyy toooooooo many notes,no breathing space.first rule of soloing.just ask Kossoff, when u get to see him
Fantastic
J.D. Simo plays one of the best solos I’ve heard in a long time…dude was totally committed to each note/nuance. And that tone…
IT WAS A PRETTY GOOD ONE WASNT IT
