I’ve got these lenses coming next weeks as a trial pair I can’t wait. I have all the same issues you have with silicon lenses I can only wear them for 5 hours before they get dry and piss me off can’t wait to try these
I'm in a trial pair of Total30 lenses and it's been great so far - albeit it's only been a few days of trying them and I will try it out for a whole month/30 days. I've worn both the B&L Ultra and Biofinity (monthlies) for the past several years and trying out the Total30 for a possible change. Dailies Total 1 were great for me as well - extremely comfortable but I've been a fan of monthly lenses and so it was great to hear they came out with the Total30 lenses. Glad to see this as I wondered if we were going to see any new developments for monthlies as it's been a long time --- every product development seems to be going toward daily disposable lenses.
@@JoelHayden - I know that previously you were a fan of Biofinity and Air Optics w/Hydraglide as far as monthly lenses go and so now that some time has passed with those trying Total30, any updates? Have you had some monthly lens patients come over to Total30 and preferring it over Biofinity and Air Optics?
I was a user of air optix hydraglide plus for astigmatism and after the second week or randomly I had blurry vision, I switched to biofinity torics and up to the 30th day I had perfect vision even from a distance. absurd . I want to try these total 30 for astigmatism and see how it goes.
we have the same feeling and problem. after having tried them all I can tell you that the total 30 are not a solution. indeed I think they are worse than hydraglide because even if very comfortable the problem of blurred vision randomly appears the same. so for us alcon in my opinion it is no longer to be taken into consideration. I recommend the biofinity torics in first place, second place baush lomb ultra astigmatism and third place I would put the miru toric. totally disappointed with the total 30 😀😅
@@DaniloEucaliptus - yup that happens with every contact lens - it’s not a universal fit for everyone. A lot of people love the Total 1 Dailies - premium daily lens very comfortable and moist for a daily lens - has been a top rated daily lens and you can see the user reviews in it. But yes there’s going to be a % of users where it doesn’t work well for them and another contact brand does better. Happens all the time. I know someone who has used the B&L Ultra Torics for quite some time - works great for them and no need to switch. I still have 6 months supply left of my Coopervision Biofinity Energys and they’re still very good too - the plus for these is that they help give an edge with digital fatigue - helps with the strain of reading digital devices which we tend to do quite a lot.
This will be a great research adventure, converting patients to Total30 with detail follow-up. Whoa, to gradient the thickness of the lens, seems to directly address that problem: I knew magic would come in handy in manufacturing! Hopefully, Alcon (and your patients) will love the results. Staying tuned.
Very comfy, but too wet for my eyes, I intermittently get a wave of water under the lens, and any squinting a I lose clarity which takes a few seconds to recover. The clarity with no water wave is great(top notch ). I prefer a Lens that seals better, which is much better for sports, I also use precision 1's even more comfy than Total 30, and dont have the water wave issue.
I wore the total 30 lenses for 11 months, and found that while they are definitely comfortable for the most part, my vision was not quite as good as expected and it left me with a halo effect around bright lights, and the lens tends to “Krinkle” and not sit correctly at times and requires multiple blinks to get it to sit right, especially towards the end of my day. My optometrist suggested I try the Acuvue Vita lenses and they have been a much better option that eliminates all of the above mentioned issues, with better vision too.. The comfort level is also just as good IMO so I will definitely be switching to the Vita lenses this week. It’s a shame because I really wanted to like the Total 30 lenses, and even though it might block blue light better, it just doesn’t measure up to the Acuvue Vita lenses.
These lenses are great, unfortunately they do have some issues in the dark like rays of light... It's an issue that I don't have with Biofinity or Bausch & Lomb. But these are so extremely comfortable, that I am not planning to go back to any other lens that I have used in the last 25 years.
Sorry Patrick. I answered incorrectly. The astigmatic form of the total 30 are now available in the US. But the multifocal isn’t available here yet either. And I’m not sure when they will be.
I don't know how you were able to get 30 days of same comfort from these lenses. I am on day 15 and its unbearably dry near middle of day. They start off very comfortable. But so do the acuvue oasys I used before and those are way cheaper.. I can just swap them every week. Really bummed out I went with this lens. Everyone is hyped but its not that good.
After having more time with the contacts i can say with confidence this guy is lying and full of it. The contacts consistently only last 10-15 days before feeling dry and sticky. The contacts dont even want to come out of my eye. I bet this guy was paid to promote the lenses. They are honestly garbage and ive seen a lot of people have the same or similar problems.
I love Total30. The best lens I have ever tried. Alot of people seems to hate it for some reason.
hey man how were they the last two weeks of the month, and how did you care for them ?
Dailies Total one gave me drier eyes for some reason. Still curious about this one

I’ll need to try this
I'm waiting for the toric version! Did you know of Alcon made in future the Total 30 with more basiscurves?
Do you know the multi focal is in their plan
So these are better then two week contacts for dry eyes?

I didn't find those as multifocal lenses... at least not in my country (Belgium), could this be?

Can it help with astigmatism
They aren’t out for astigmatism yet. Will do a video when they are…..
@@JoelHayden they have the toric version now!
acuvue oasys transitions and bausch lomb ultra monthlies are by far more comfortable to wear all day long
Do they also come in Toric lenses
Because they are so new they do not yet. I can tell you that I am certain Alcon has plans for both Toric and Multifocals.
