I use Ultra Dawn Dish soap in a five gallon bucket with water, let the filter sit in this solution for a few days and then squeeze a few times and rinse it out. Cheap, and it works perfectly and, you can pour the rest of the water solution right into your yard around a tree or plant. No need for a chemical or added expense. I have a few filters so as soon as I have one that is dirty I throw it into the bucket and start a new solution and a filter that was already cleaned gets oiled and installed. Rotate. Nice to see options though, thanks!!!
I discovered this stuff a couple months ago. I’ll never use another cleaner again! It’s fantastic! I oil with Maxima FFT and it has no trouble with cleaning it!
I stumbled across a big dealership in Canada that had the bottle & aerosol spray stuff o the shelf. Bought a bottle. Great for when I trailer my dirtbike away from home for days at a time.
i moved from the notoil powder to this stuff a year ago, and it's AMAZING!!! i've also since swapped to a more sticky aresol filter oil (belray) and it obliterates it easily.
I ordered some a couple weeks ago and haven't used it yet. Then I found out my dad ordered some as well about the same time as me. We are both saying that if it works as good as they say it'll be great!
Yes this stuff is the best! I buy 4 at a time and put it in a bucket. Enough to totally soak the filter and I can clean about 40 filters before it gets too thick with filter oil.
with the grit sand etc that comes off with the oil should we be straining the solution after a cleaning? so that it doesn't get all over the filter....
Not sure if its out water or what but we can't seem to get it to rinse out of the filters after washing with it. Went back to using solvent and soapy water.
The reason for not twisting the air filter is to prevent straining/damaging the seams and filter material. To remove water/cleaner, it should only be squeezed. I assumed that was pretty common knowledge when it came to air filter care.
Interesting. I spent the money once and bought some actual filter cleaner only to find out it was straight mineral spirits like I’d been using previously. My filters always still seem oily afterwards. Nice that it’s biodegradable as well.
So, my question is how do you dispose once your 10 filters are done? It's bio-degradable, but once you clean the oil off (bel-ray in case) its contaminated with non-biodegradable stuff. Looks great and have been wanting to try it for a while. I use naphtha and filter it through a T-shirt. It eventually gets to thick.
@Danman1972...yeah, it's one of the reasons why I stuck to No-Toil products. I thought the same way and decided against it. No-Toil is 100% biodegradable as long as you use their product only.
@@jmx7656 I used No-Toil for a long time. I got tired of it ruining my filters. Yes, I used cold water and didn't ring them out, but it just sacked the filters at the glue joints. I was never sure how long I could keep a filter or if a joint was bad enough to let things through. I usually just replaced it as soon as I saw it doing that. Also, if I let it sit to long it would loose its tacky. Lived in a dusty place at the time, but never had any issues with infiltration. Just decided that I didn't want to keep on buying filters. With the naphtha I just filter it. I recycle it with the oil or just dispose of it with the house hold day for the city. A gallon lasts me a very long time if I filter it with an old T-shirt to clean it. I bought the F3 cleaner. Works well. I did 6 filters with it. Likely to continue with it. Will just toss it in the oil I take up to the recycler with the truck and bikes.
@@jmx7656 For me it would happen after several months of used. The area I was in had hard water, but I would see it start to come unglued. I only used there brand cleaner, rim grease, and original red oil. Cleaning the air box I bought their cleaner for that and its a heavy ammonia based product. I would things it just diluted down, but the smell about knocks you out! Works like a champ though. Good luck!
I'm a NoToil user and I was given a bottle of this to try. I found on Petroleum based oils this F3 stuff is neat, but on the NoToil filters you might as well stick with the NoToil cleaner. It's easier, smells better and is cheaper. Petroleum Based = F3 Rocks NoToil = Stick with NoToil cleaner. (IMO)
Excited about cleaning dirty air filters? HA! LOL! The best way to clean an air filter is to dump gas on it in the corner of your parking lot and then rinse in a 5 gallon bucket filled with hot soapy water.

Just used mine for the first time. Very cool! Works great!
Just got some last week after talking crap on their spam ads for 6 months and holy crap it works amazing!
I know right??
Just tried this stuff. AMAZE-BALLS! Cleaned a couple old filters and filter skins to like new.
It’s nuts

Picked some up at my local shop. It’s legit. Works great.
Glad you tried this, I have thinking about ordering some, it's been all over my FB feed.
It’s good

Totally. It really is amazing.
Nice to know as I use Belray air filter oil always for decades. Ya I am getting old. Lol.
I ordered some a couple weeks ago and haven't used it yet. Then I found out my dad ordered some as well about the same time as me. We are both saying that if it works as good as they say it'll be great!
Happy you found it worthwhile. I do like it not being smelly and yucky.
It’s really good
Thanks for the review!
It’s soooo good.

Nice
Then you can just re use the oil to oil your filters, GENIUS lol j/k
Glad you did this I've been on the fence about ordering it.
It’s awesome stuff

They don’t say to and I think that it would fall to the bottom and any that you get on the next filter would get washed off in the running water.
Awesome product, store you got it from and your channel 👌
Thanksn
Good stuff, it works and Ben is great to deal with.
Agree
Sweet! Will try some, but what filter oil are you using?
Belray
Not sure if its out water or what but we can't seem to get it to rinse out of the filters after washing with it. Went back to using solvent and soapy water.
Huh, that is interesting
I blame Robbie
@@highlandcycles 🤣 he did buy it hahaha
Do they have a recommended filter oil? I see it says all types.
I don’t think so.
Just ordered some. Thanks, Morgan.
You’ll love it
@@highlandcycles I'm going to try to filter it after use, maybe extend the life.
@@d.brayman3165 let me know how that goes
@@highlandcycles Sure thing.
Let's go Ben!!!!
He’s awesome

I have never twisted one. That seems like a dumb thing that only a dumb person would do. That’s why I was surprised to see it mentioned
Kerosene works best for me. I might need to try this though.
It’s really good n
Awesome! Will definitely give it a try for sure! Thanks man

Its defiantly not just mineral spirts. MS give me a head ache bad. Even the "odorless" stuff. Just stinks. This has non of the smell. It works great.

How does it compare to no toil? My filters look brand new like no staining at all when using no toil.

Yes it does

Nice!
me personally will just keep using all the dawn dish soap
That works great too. This is just super fast and good.
I was living under a rock.

I got to say that stuff looks like it works really well might have to give it a try because I also use mineral spirits🤘

I'll for sure give that a try, iv heard of it before but the fact that you barely soaked it, should last me awhile👍
For sure
I think by "don't twist" they mean just squeeze it, not wring it out . That's good practice for any foam filter
Agree. Just seems a little funny
