The new formula in the plastic bottles is amazing. Cleans just as good if not better than gas...and a huge bonus for me is that it doesn't stink. It smells like bubblegum. I'm very impressed. Stoked to be able to wash filters without getting headaches.

I use gas, only problem is I've lost a lot of brain cells doing my filters I think

Gas is the best IMO. I've used a few different products and gas cleans it so easily and is cheap compared to this solutions. Most are $10-15 per bottle and that'll buy like 3-4 gallons of gas. That'll last me most of the summer for $10-15 while I was spending that monthly on other products.

every time I used gas it melts the glue holding the filter together.

Get a hot glue gun and glue it back together

Dish soap is the ticket for this job. It’s a biodegradable detergent that you already have and I’ll guarantee that it’s way cheaper than this product. This product is like trying to reinvent the wheel.

CLINTON DUNN dish soap does not remove petroleum based filter oils.

I don't know why people still use non-biodegradable oils. I use No Toil biodegradable oil and it works great. Also use Ultra Lube bio grease to seal the edges. To clean the filter I just add a couple scoops of Oxyclean powder to a sink full of warm water and it comes out like new.

conventional oils do have better ability to catch dust , the no toil is not at there level yet . so for extreme dust your better off with normal oil , thats why i use them , have friends use no toil on some of the real dusty rides and it has got through

Vanir03 Because filter oil like belray or maxima work better. I've use no toil before and its just not as good.

I use turpentine, works really well and doesn't dissolve the filter like gasoline. And it's cheaper than dedicated filter cleaner

I use gasoline some people say that it hurts the filter but its so cheap and works really well. I have been using it for awhile and i check my seems thoroughly and the filters seem to be holding up. nice vid keep it up!

My last filter just gave up after multiple cleanings and the last one was with gas, the filter and the rubber gasket its glued to came apart. If you have an all-foam filter, I think those hold up to gas better.

Kyle, you're the bomb, but you're swishing two filthy filters around and re-distributing the dirt deep into the foam material. Since 1975, I treat foam filters more like a K&N and dip them dirty side down into a small bowl/container to get junk to fall down and try not to swish the outside crud into the always-clean inside. Then use a small pump sprayer with cleaner to flush from the inside, pushing stuff back out only. Then take it to the shop sink and squirt some liquid soap inside. Rinse well only from the inside-out. Dirt is only on the outside surface layer of foam unless you move it deeper into the element. It's the fine grit you can barely see that's the right size to wear out your engine.

I have used mineral spirits for years and then wash with dish soap and rinse. Its 10$ for a gallon and you only need a couple cups for a filter cleaning.it has never damaged a filter.

The solvent reacts with the water and it turns white. When you see no white whilst rinsing your filter with water it means there is no solvent left on the filter.

What are the fumes like from it Kyle? Thats one of the things i hate about turps and other solvents ive used - the fumes are not pleasant and linger. You can buy dearer low odour versions i spose but the price difference is too much for my blood.

Hey Logan 1 quart will actually clean approximately 10 filters before you should think about replacing the material.

Why do you say using gas is a bad idea?

    • @Cactus73
      @Cactus73 6 років тому

There is no good reason, not to use gas other than it's flammable. Don't clean your filter around sparks or a flame, but that is common sense. It works good, it's cheap, and it won't harm your filter. I've been using gas for over 40 years and have never damaged a filter yet.

Amen! So many people are trying to reinvent the wheel and continue to spend way too much money when you don't need to. It's why motocross is declining.

    • @wrperformanceproducts

Hey Blazers, Gas has been known to degrade the glue joints on foam filters over time. We have done testing and can confirm this but obviously our opinion sounds very biased lol we will be posting some head-to-heads and lab tests in the future to clear this up. But for now I will just leave you with this. If Gas can clean this fast I will eat my shirt!
