I was 12 years old when this batman movie came out, and was already a huge fan of the superman movies from 1978 and 1980, and i had seen plenty of episodes of the 1960's Batman show. I just remember to this day, how my mind exploded when I saw this car on the screen for the first time, it's a highlight in cinema history. This car hasn't been topped in any batman movie since, it's quite simply the most iconic batmobile ever made.
Easily. I feel the same way about the suit in the OG movie too. It's fantasy, so I honestly couldn't care less about it being realistic with practical head-turning neck and nonsense like that. Batman isn't realistic in the first place, and just like with comics it's a vibe, stylistic, all about the look of the piece far more than realism and practicality.
Starting at around 8:39 when they start to remove the plastic bag my jaw pretty much just dropped and stayed dropped the next 15 mins. I'm a big Batman '89 fan but the Batmobile I would argue is probably the greatest car / wheeled vehicle design of at all time.

Technically this looks like it should be the Batman Returns version. The first film used a custom paint called "Flip Flop" where it appeared to have a more satin finish with hints of purple at certain angles. In Returns, the paint looked gloss black.
You’ll need to see it in different lighting. Just like the original, they were able to replicate the paint finish with the color flip. We even had input on the percentage of green tint we liked in the paint! 😂 some of the other video reviews show it off better in light to show the colors.
Go to the site. They tried hard to replicate the first, not the second. People complained it didn't look black enough, but they got to the point eventually. And they keep saying it's kinda hard to tell in photos/on video. As it was in the film. Anyway yeah they went for the finish of the first.
I love seeing Norms face panic anytime Adam tries to open or install something 😂. I’d be just as nervous!! Great review, this makes me extra excited to finally get mine in my hands.
My dad used to own one of the 3 promotional ones. It resides in a museum in Japan the last we heard. Lots of differences between it and the hero vehicles just to make it more inviting to people looking up close and what not. It was very cool. That one was made from the base of a ~1982 Buick. I got picked up from Middle School in it. I became quite famous after that around the playground.
Like many others I love this Batmobile! I was 8 years old when this movie came out and it was the coolest thing ever as a kid and as an adult too!. Thanks guys!
It looks like the center of the wheels is smaller in the back, compared to the front. I think thats to the difference in wheel thickness... Love that. I always love it when the size of an object or the viewing angles of the onlooker creates optical illusions with sweet effects, and its MOST amazing when that was specifically intended by the Maker. First learned about that in school when talking about the form of the collumns in the greek Pantheon. But what a great Model man. Such an amazing work. I love this car.
I truly very much like the 89 Batmobile and some of the various others from the Batman films, But the 66 Batmobile is always going to be my all time favorite of them all indeed!👌😎👍.
It's insane, spectacular scale, I have a smaller one. Today, 10/26/89, my dad and I were watching the first Batman at the cinema in São Paulo, it was the premiere here.😢. I miss you so much, man, if it's been 35 years, it seems like it was yesterday. I remember it in detail.
This a thing of beauty! Museum quality. Jazz Inc hit it out of the park! Wow! I also have to say that the Hot Toys 89 Batmobile was pretty amazing when it was released. For someone to come along and say, we can do better and deliver on this scale is something I do not take for granted. Adam and Norm I LOVED your discussion on this piece. Then, being part of Weapons Company in the Marine Corps, I regularly got to shoot and maintain the M2. It is a beloved piece of artistic destruction that shall NOT be mocked, by comparing it to a lowly Thompson sub-machine gun. Over 100 years of continuous service, and easily another 100 to come. The only thing that will outlast the B52 BUFF, will be the M2 Browning. I'll end my rant now. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL model.
Guess what else they are NOT? M2 Brownings. Those ARE NOT .50 cal M2s. They are .30 cal M1919s. So it turns out that none of you guys actually know what you're talking about.
A number of (off the shelf and sold as retail) digital cameras going back to about 2001-2002 were made that are precise enough to get engineering and architectural detail down to a point of less than one tenth of one millimeter. The cameras of this era were only about 5mp. It only worked with certain lenses, and then specifically only under certain apertures and focal lengths.
"Is Micky Thompson a Batman character?" OMG! That's such a funny thing to hear someone ask. Never mind that the someone is Adam Savage. I'm still laughing. 🤣
Currently awaiting for my Jazzinc 89 Batmobile to be delivered! I was there on day one and have enjoyed the ride watching this thing come into fruition!
This is an amazing model, they knocked it out of the park, if I HAD to make one criticism, it would be that the front yellow lights are not right, I remember them being amber/orange, but like I said that is a nit pick and it looks AMAZING the amount of detail and hard work that was put into this run really shows that the people who made it really care about what they are putting out
That is just beautiful. When I was little, and in Cub Scouts, my dad and I made a version of this for the Pinewood Derby race. I wonder if my parents still have pictures of it, because I'm sure it didn't look nearly as awesome as I remember it. lol
Funny true story:there was a movie outtake in the 1989 batman movie where batman got in the car and the roof slide back and the roof CAUGHT his pointy ears!!! 🤣....CUT!! Tooo funny.
I had the original released from the film in 89.. my grandad got it for me along with the batwing, bob and joker.. absolutely loved it! This brings me back and is incredible!

Increadible model! Like a dream to have it. PS. When Adam is trying to disassemble shield at 13:23 like "Savage" ;) makes my heart beat faster! :D Great vid!
It's kind of interesting how the 1989 Bat-mobile was arguably the most realistic one, and then they got more and more campy until the Batman & Robin one was more or less a thing that looked like it was ripped out of a comic book. Then, Christopher Nolan goes back to arguably even more realistic for his series. One of the best things about going to the WB studio tour is that they have quite a few of the various Bat vehicles on display. And the actual real one is a bit smaller than I would have expected.

Guess what else they are NOT? M2 Brownings. Those ARE NOT .50 cal M2s. They are .30 cal M1919s. So it turns out that none of you guys actually know what you're talking about.
There will never be a Batmobile to match this one. What a replica! Gorgeous!
This is my favorite batmobile of all.
A number of (off the shelf and sold as retail) digital cameras going back to about 2001-2002 were made that are precise enough to get engineering and architectural detail down to a point of less than one tenth of one millimeter. The cameras of this era were only about 5mp. It only worked with certain lenses, and then specifically only under certain apertures and focal lengths.
that thing’s incredible, man. kudos to the makers.
Thank you
You two are just like kids on Christmas morning, open8ng your new gifts. Awesome.
My fave Batmobile of all time!.
Ive got the recent Lego 1989 Batmobile and it fits easily on a shelf. I would need a whole room for this 1/6 scale batmobile.
This is an amazing model, they knocked it out of the park, if I HAD to make one criticism, it would be that the front yellow lights are not right, I remember them being amber/orange, but like I said that is a nit pick and it looks AMAZING the amount of detail and hard work that was put into this run really shows that the people who made it really care about what they are putting out
They are yellow, they just looked that way in the film because of colour grading I think
@@christopherpekel6096 oh ok i could see that
That is just beautiful.
Those machine guns are Browning M1919 .30 Caliber MG's.
It makes me happy that there are people who can get so happy by a thing and obsess over it to this level. Oh and it really comes through that Adam and Norm are friends and really share this high level nerdery :D
Thank you two and the rest of the team as well for making Tested happen, it brightens my day :)
Holy shit that thing is sick
@JazzIncdioramas *I wish I could afford one of your vehicles. This vehicle, in particular, is the only vehicle in my entire life that I have adored and have an affinity for. I'm in love with it. Great job! I'm honored to have seen the amazing detail you have put into this Batmobile. I appreciate the love you poured into your design. I could only wish to own one.*
Goodness, Adam, lexan scratches so easily (looks like lexan but I could be wrong).
Glad you quoted the "where does he get all those wonderful toys" have thought about that alot. Your spot on.
micky thompson was famous for their racing tires
This is my favourite live version, but my ultimate favourite is the one from Batman the animated series. Thst art deco style is perfect.
My favorite Batmobile is the 1989 Batmobile
The fact that Batman runs Mickey Thompsons on the batmobile might be the coolest thing ever the coolest thing ever.
89 batmobile is the best batmobile
Increadible model! Like a dream to have it. PS. When Adam is trying to disassemble shield at 13:23 like "Savage" ;) makes my heart beat faster! :D Great vid!
'89 is a classic, but Batman Returns is the best one.
Thanks for these as a lifelong Batman fan.
I want this Monster!❤😮
Only channel that i enjoy every moment of an unboxing
Bat logo on the steering wheel... just incase Batman forgets who he is. LOL
