The first movies are always the best, because the productionteam puts all their creative effort and more into that film, trying to make it look real and legit as possible. As i now have witnessed with this footage, the team outdid themselves. Thats why the first ironmanfilm looks so fantastic. You can really imagine wearing that kind of suit yourself and they even made those movieprops. This is so amazing
It's not only because of the props, the film owes a great deal to digital technology, as do all those that followed. There are whole scenes where we only see the digital version of the armor and can't see the difference with the traditionally made one, and these scenes could never have been done with the latter. In fact, there's no scene in which the armor worn by the actor is complete, there is always only a part of it that is completed by digital.
What the public see in the movie: "Whoaa the cgi is awesome, the props are awesome! Love Tony Stark!" What the staff experience: lots of hard work, revision, over time, blood sweat and tears. Lots of respect to those people who work behind the scene
His comment about "I've got a 5-7 year window and then after that, the CGI stuff will evolved to make it better" is weirdly prophetic considering each movie had less and less actual iron man suits until end game where I think they just CGI'd the whole thing.
That's why RDJ nailed it. It wasn't just the look. Which was damn near perfect. It's that he was fucking stoked to be doing it. He was passionate about it out of the gate. That's the difference
The effort and skill put into making this for one movie, not counting the environments, pyro effects, stunts and everything else involved. It's incredible. Makes you really stand back and look and appreciate a movie more.
The effects are great. Love the First Iron Man movie from 2008. Its sad that Stan Winston died the same year. Wish he lived longer. He also deserved MORE than 4 Oscars in my oppinion. May He Rest In Peace. 💙

When you watch the movies you never imagine the BTS, I never think of all the ppl that these films go through, all this hard work and, at the same time, fun, that goes in the film. Truly awesome to see this
Gotta pay mad respects to Jon Favreau, having the weight of such a huge project on his shoulders. Had this movie failed, we would be talking about a different MCU or maybe no MCU at all. Marvel wasn't big back then, actually they were nothing at the time. This movie's success made it all possible and I think Jon had a bigger role than we actually give him credit for.
Apparently Whiplash in the second movie was a mixture of Crimson Dynamo and Whiplash... Which is interesting. I mean it makes sense because the villians in the Ironman movies are kinda a mixture of different characters. I think of the Mandarin in Ironman 3.
@@elishaschoonover8914 You're right. And I didn't think about Whiplash being a mixture of the two... Now I wish they would have colored his final battle armor, red. They wouldn't even have had to say it, the color would have been enough.

This version of iron man is king for the real props they made for the movie instead of opting for special effects which deff made the move 100% better for the time that it was made in the first iron man b4 disney and its rendition of it all but also just amazing work by the prop team taking the time to make the suit look real to a existent past what you could do with any pc at the time props are king when you can do them and that what movies forget is that props are physical and can act as much in a movie as the actors!
It's not true at all. The film owes a great deal to digital technology, as do all those that followed. There are whole scenes where we only see the digital version of the armor and can't see the difference with the traditionally made one, and these scenes could never have been done with the latter. In fact, there's no scene in which the armor worn by the actor is complete, there is always only a part of it that is completed by digital.
*CGI make things look better and reach great heights. But ultimate respect go to people who build practical things. Bringing imaginations into the real world and making them practical (no matter how practical), is the greatest talent accomplishment.*
this time was like the perfect mixture of advanced enough technology but still using significant practical elements. I don't think people could have bonded with the transformation if it was CGI to begin with, we could feel the weight of the metal and understand how a guy could make it and fit into it. Nano tech is cool, but no one knows what that means, or understands how it fits into his chest piece, or where the floating laser things come from, or what a holographic shield is, but when he's soldering the circuits in his foot piece, and it's difficult to get out of, that's all gold
watching the production of the movie really makes you want to watch said movie to see how it turned out... i would know because its exactly what happened to me!
It's crazy to hear Robert talk about "5 to 7 years, and if 'this thing' goes longer." 14 years, 24 films, and $23 billion combined box office later.... Damn.
RDjr... You kickstarted MCU with an amazing performance by being Tony Stark... you were PERFECT for this role... When I went to see this in the theaters and everyone said "Wait until after the credits" and the easter eggs with MCU and tying the stories together. This "universe" model was unheard of...
Just how amazing of an actor RDJ is, going from his normal personality, with history and flaws, to play as Iron Man with a very different personality, while carrying many of the same flaws and some of that history back to his present alone, without spiraling again, is incredible. Mixing that with those teams for both the suit and the production, extremely skilled amazing teams in themselves... It's no question how Iron Man kicked off not only it's own franchise, but a much larger franchise with it.
I love how honest Sam Winston is. He is done working for his lifetime. ahaha. Just comes in and says; "Do more of that/ Make sure my name is on the screen".
A lot of people gave their very best and thus the masterpiece was made! Thank you all the teams that worked relentlessly and passionately to made this possible

Do they even have awards for this (I don't watch the Oscars or anything)?
Greatest action stunt
Greatest stunt sequence or something along these lines
@@blackSUAAAVE There are the Taurus Stunt Awards, but they have zero representation at the Oscars.
This is so amazing
ua-cam.com/video/JfbyiPaurlM/v-deo.html ❤️🕸🕷
It's not only because of the props, the film owes a great deal to digital technology, as do all those that followed. There are whole scenes where we only see the digital version of the armor and can't see the difference with the traditionally made one, and these scenes could never have been done with the latter. In fact, there's no scene in which the armor worn by the actor is complete, there is always only a part of it that is completed by digital.
What the public see in the movie: "Whoaa the cgi is awesome, the props are awesome! Love Tony Stark!"
What the staff experience: lots of hard work, revision, over time, blood sweat and tears.
"you're zooming in on my hammer right now aren't you" ..RDJ really is Tony Stark
But iron man doesn’t have a hammer, Thor does

The effects are great. Love the First Iron Man movie from 2008. Its sad that Stan Winston died the same year. Wish he lived longer. He also deserved MORE than 4 Oscars in my oppinion. May He Rest In Peace. 💙

Easily the most rewatchable MCU movie.
I think thor ragnorok has great rewachability with the comedy colors music and action
I've definitely rewatched the first iron man more than any other mcu. I think it would be remembered as a great movie even if the rest of marvel flopped and the mcu was cancelled. They did a damn good job

@@agentwiz169 It's a double entendre. Casting the character who would play Iron Man, and mold casting for the suit to a specific person.

We've come a really long way since Iron Man 1. MCU really brought joy to the whole world when it needed it the most. Thanks guys, for all the effort.
You realise he has an exec producer credit on all MCU stuff since right? As does Louis Leterrier even though all he did was direct incredible hulk
I had no idea they originally planned for the main villain to be Crimson Dynamo... very cool.
RIP Stan Winston
I was thinking the same thing. I just figured they were naming the Iron Monger suit the Crimson Dynamo for some reason lol
Wow
Apparently Whiplash in the second movie was a mixture of Crimson Dynamo and Whiplash... Which is interesting. I mean it makes sense because the villians in the Ironman movies are kinda a mixture of different characters. I think of the Mandarin in Ironman 3.
@@elishaschoonover8914 You're right. And I didn't think about Whiplash being a mixture of the two... Now I wish they would have colored his final battle armor, red. They wouldn't even have had to say it, the color would have been enough.
@@DasMuse You're correct. I looked up the character after I saw your comment and did some short research before replying. I wish they made it red too. Would've been more interesting.
My dude, use punctuation. You're gonna make me fucking cry.
@@Zargabaath I see that is a round sentence !!

*CGI make things look better and reach great heights. But ultimate respect go to people who build practical things. Bringing imaginations into the real world and making them practical (no matter how practical), is the greatest talent accomplishment.*
Iron Man 1 is a masterpiece, besides being a superhero/marvel movie.
It was a really good movie, but a "masterpiece"? Nahh
Im here still waiting for Marvel equivalent of 2008 DC The Dark Knight.
@@fynkozari9271 facts, that was a good movie
It was alright
It ain't a masterpiece m8... But the movie is hella *Underrated*
this time was like the perfect mixture of advanced enough technology but still using significant practical elements.
So much passion went into these movies by every single person. All of their effort payed out big time.
I never realized that Jon was the director of the movie, it didnt occur to me that he could be the director since he played the Happy Hogan character

Truly incredible
*the fact that they built an entire real pratical armor makes the movie legit and really cool* 👍
Love that Peter Billingsley was a producer on this. Loved him as Ralphie, glad he's still in the business.
I love how honest Sam Winston is. He is done working for his lifetime. ahaha. Just comes in and says; "Do more of that/ Make sure my name is on the screen".

As one that used to build props, these builders are insanely talented. Building a wearable hero suit of that calibre is extremely difficult to do.
And this single handedly launched the MCU. This was the plan but it was a big "bet the company" type of thing. I encourage EVERYONE to listen to The Tim Ferriss show's interview with David Maisel. SUPER interesting for the back story of the MCU and beyond

RDJ so damn savvy he makes a C.H.U.D reference while making Iron Man. Respect.
CHUD and Henenlotters Basket Case 1 are the perfect examples of early 80s New York "seediness". Just a filthy, disgusting city filled with harrlots and violence, especially in 82-87.
I'll never forget reading and hearing all the doubts when RDJ was announced to play Iron Man because of where his career was at the time. If only they knew...
