Your comment has cleared up all of the questions i needed to know in one :) not sure whether to go for the joms or the fks yet everyone seems to have mixed reviews about both to make it more confusing, sounds like cutting the roll bar out and then seeing how it rides is the best idea if its crap will wack a tt rollbar on like you say
I'm glad we can help! :) The ones we used in this video seem to be pretty good, they absorb the bumps well at the height Jad set them and (it looks like) if you took the helper springs out you can set them so low that the wheels would be off the ground! lol I don't know what the other sets are like though. We cut the anti-roll bar as close to the anti-roll bar bushes as we could and left the centre piece on the car. Cheers! :)
+Nick Gilbert Yes there was a bit of the frame that got in the way of the driveshaft on one side of the car and I think Jad said something else would end up rubbing on the other side if you don't cut a bit of chassis out too but I can't remember exactly what he said now. You need to get engine raisers too otherwise you may smash the sump if you proper slam it. lol Thanks for watching!
Thanks! I recently found out that you only need the engine raisers on the diesel engines because they are quite tall engines so the sum sits lower in the car than the petrol versions. Thanks again :)
I'm not sure if they were shorter than the stock ones we took off but Jad just bought some coilovers designed to fit the Bora so he didn't need to do anything special to make them fit. Thanks for watching :)
I'm stuck here way buy new motor iv seen a bora 1.6s 16v in silver and a bora 2.0 British racing green sorta colour looks same but probably not lol but full mot n under a grand or Audi A3 1.8t or a4 1.8t or golf gti 1.8t but hard to find one here just now! 3 door any suggestions since you guys have both bora n a3 cheers bros
I'll have to ask Jad if he can remember how much lower it was in the end but it was basically as low as you could go without cutting the chasis. Maybe in this video it was 10mm higher than the minimum because I'm sure he said he got it even lower in the end but i'll need to double check. I don't think there is a limit to how low you could go on the back but he like his cars to have a bit of rake. If you are just asking to check how low these coilovers can go; you could take out a little helper spring to go super low - it looked like you could set it so low the wheels would be off the ground! lol Thanks for watching :)
Yes they are both based on the typ1J chassis so should be the same, the coilovers cost £180 on ebay when we got them. They are FK AK Street coilvers if you want exactly the same ones. Thanks for watching! :)
I like the video! , and I got a questions for you guys... Could you guys give me an advise about JOM blueline coilovers? Should I buy it? Is these coilovers nice?Do I have problems in the future? Thank you sir.
Hows it going? These are FK Coilovers so I can't tell you for certain but apparently all of the coilovers you can get around the price of the FK ones perform around the same. The FK coilovers seemed to be pretty nice and the ride wasn't too harsh even when they are low. Thanks for watching! :)
Thanks for making an easy step by step walkthrough will be lowering my bora soon, just a couple of questions are those fk ak street coilovers? Did you grease any part of the coilovers and did you have to use any other parts other than the coilovers themselves? Such as adjustable droplinks, aftermarket rear anti roll bar for that height? Thanks again!
Hows it going? Thanks for watching! I'll need to ask Jad what brand they are, he chose them because they were reasonably priced and yellow though so I guess they are the only ones that come in yellow. lol We greased the threads on the coilovers with some grease that came with the kit - just put a line of grease from top to bottom on the treads and then unscrew the adjuster-ring all the way down and all the way back up again and that should be fine. We cut the front anti-roll bar out, the coilovers are so stiff you don't really need one but if you want to do it properly Jad said you can get one from the audi TT (you may need hubs from the TT as well), there is no anti-roll bar on the rear because it does not have independent rear suspension. I Hope this has helped! Thanks again :)
The Retro Lab Ha it really does im so ready for the mega lowzz was hard for me to find though when i typed jetta in. Only when i searched for bora coilovers i found it. Relly useful.

+Lloyd Griffiths Thank you very much!! :D
Again thanks for the help much appreciated :)
They notch the Chassis on these cars when lowering them? (Honda Civic guy, not familiar with these cars. But I keep mine in good shape)

So do I have to buy new shocks thats different size/ shorter than the old shocks?
I'm not sure if they were shorter than the stock ones we took off but Jad just bought some coilovers designed to fit the Bora so he didn't need to do anything special to make them fit. Thanks for watching :)
Can u adjust back coilovers
Yes, there is an adjustable plate that sits below the spring.

Is it the same variasion on skoda octavia 1999 it looks like bora and i wana lower it how much this coilovers cost.
Yes they are both based on the typ1J chassis so should be the same, the coilovers cost £180 on ebay when we got them. They are FK AK Street coilvers if you want exactly the same ones. Thanks for watching! :)
Thanks i think so they are with the same chassis and i will search for them.
As long as your car isn't 4WD then they should be the same. Thanks again :)

Thanks guys.
No Problem, thanks for watching! :)
You DO NOT need to use a spring compressor, the struts come out just fine without that.
You will need a spring compressor if you are reusing the bushings
