You're not overthinking it, you can see later on before heavy screams that both demo and scout look anxiously at heavy to see what they should do next, so yeah Valve definitely intended to be communication just through that alone
Small detail i noticed at 2:01 As each robot is starting up, you can hear the sounds of different engines cranking up, as if each robot required a different motor for each of them. I like how much depth was put into this trailer, even viewing it 10 years later.
In mvm you can hear the engines of giant robots (not small robots unfortunately) and different class robots have different engine sounds Scout sounds like a high reving motorcycle while heavy sounds like a big truck

For anyone who wondered why this video has both teams fighting the robots, but in the final game it's only RED, apparently the testers kept trying to shoot their own teammates who were the same color as the bots.
I’ve actually played as shotgun demo before I remember a few years ago there was a glitch on a lot of the jailbreak servers where if you equipped a shield on red your demo would have a shotgun for some reason. On some serves you’d actually spawn with ammo and on some you’d have to pick up ammo for your shotgun.

For anyone who wondered why this video has both teams fighting the robots, but in the final game it's only RED, apparently the testers kept trying to shoot their own teammates who were the same color as the bots.
I wish the bots were more grey coloured then blue because they are made by Grey Mann
Issue is that makes seeing them real difficult given they blend into the backgrounds @@PlantGentlemen

I’ve actually played as shotgun demo before I remember a few years ago there was a glitch on a lot of the jailbreak servers where if you equipped a shield on red your demo would have a shotgun for some reason. On some serves you’d actually spawn with ammo and on some you’d have to pick up ammo for your shotgun.
