3:50 I 3d printed a little handle with a 2 hollows for the fingers and lowered trigger for the latest xiaomi one, it latches on the crinkle-cut part near the bit, and it's perfect now. For the bigger screws or better torque I got xiaomi hoto, the one with 3 gears, made similar handle because it can really pull....
Jakemy Y04 does support manual operation. 07:13, look carefully at the website, it clearly says "supports manual and electric operation". Manual torque is 3NM.
Thanks. I've had others say it has manual but no brake, which is a bit confusing. I've got a whole new set of 2023 drivers coming in to do a hands on review which will be more comprehensive, hopefully some from JAKEMY too, they make good products.
Just got my CreationSpace CS-190A (CS1901A) and it has Micro-USB port. The USB-C like hole in the photos is actually the charge indicator. The charging port is in the back and not shown on any photos or videos.
Have you tested any of the mini electric drills? I say any but I can't actually find many! I've seen some people rave about the Tamiya Handy Drill, zero interest in that personally given it is itself a fiddly plastic kit that you have to assemble! Only other one that I've found is the Wowstick Drill. There's loads of screwdriver / grinder / sander tools out there but notably, none of them take anything other than generic drill bits, the Dspiae grinder for example won't accept their own tungsten drill bits from the pin vise (and I don't need yet another pin vise). I'm guessing it's because grinders and the like spin to fast and thus melt plastic etc vs the Wowstick drill which, from what I've read, has lower speed but higher torque than most of these cruddy $10-15 dremel / grinder devices.
No but I really want to! The Tamiya Drill, but also the Tamiya... is it a Router? Yeah. Thank you for the feedback, I need to get onto that. Actually just setting up a new recording bench now, another big review coming!
Just bought the Jakemy JM-Y04 ( May 23, 2022, $52 Amazon ) and it has a break now - ie you can use it even if there is no power and/or if the screw is beyond the torque of this. Says a break is part of the functionality as well on the Amazon page. I like the removable rechargeable battery. We'll see how it goes. I should mention that the CreationSpace model is so thick, that I believe its worth considering a full-on powered screwdriver that is just slightly thicker. Finally, if this Jakemy doesn't work out, I'll be considering a "Kinetic screwdriver" next. I may try a few just to see how it is......
The easiest way to improve ergonomics would be to have the knurling around the button. A rubber sleeve would also be nice, but it will have to be replacable.
Hello. eBay won't allow me to paste links (they'll show to the person who posts them, but nobody else can see), so I'd recommend using google.com and searching "CREATION SPACE CS1901A". One of the first results will likely be FastTech, who are a reputable seller. I don't know of any USA stores that carry it (I don't live in USA), but I can recommend FastTech. Keep in mind that we (people in chat comments here) have found that The 1901A is not coming with Type C, it's MicroUSB, so if that was a major factor then maybe try something else, like a Xiaomi Precision.
I have the Wowstick 1F Pro. Has USB-C, don’t know what or if anything else was changed from the one you have, I use it for m3 screw in 3d printer plastic and it gets the job done, but I can see that it’s struggling to cut the threads, tho admittedly the hole might have been a bit too small. It doesn’t have enough torque to strip the threads, which is great. I got the Wowstick drill at the same time, this too is a bit lacking in torque, but with some time it drills holes through plastic, wood and very soft metal. I also bought a TS101, and this one is incredible, well worth the price, an excellent tiny ultra portable soldering iron

At this moment there is only one model available: *CS19A* . The *CS19A comes wiht micro-USB* connector and *not wiht USB-C* connector; I have seen a couple of comments in which they mentioned this. Pinned to Top as this is an important comment. I had a search for the CS190 just now and you're right, I could'nt find it, so I went back to my source folder for the video and found a few graphics from 8 months ago. I'm guessing it's just bad marketing since they seem to call it 3-4 different names (variants on CS19xx). I'll put a link below this message with a graphic from the resources I used to make the video back in Dec 2021 (it's possible UA-cam will just hide my message since it contains a link, so if you don't see it, that's why). Most importantly, you are correct, sadly it's MICRO USB :~( The "Type C" port on the CS19xx is either a button or just a marking. Pretty sneaky that it looks identical to a Type C port. On the other side of course is a Micro USB. Disappointed I missed this. I will put this as first line on the video description. In any case, the video is 8 months old now, so I'd expect we should have some better models out by now, about time for an update video! Thanks for your help Mr Gomez, much appreciated.
I just got it today and what I received is the CS1901A. I'm not sure the CS-190A is still on sale. Anyway, it came with a micro-USB port and not the expected USB-C. I think the CS-190A was discontinued.
same here, and the speed adjustment knob is very flimsy. I almost ruined it before turning my first screw. But it cost less than I expected (on Aliexpress) and the quality and performance seem very good. If it lasts a while, I will be very happy with it.
@@CheapCheerful oh i didnt hear your voice cause im deaf …. dint realize where this video is from ….harbor freight tool has it for $12 uds and microcenter has one for $24 usd ….
@@jamesfatula5824 You are deaf and you go to Harbor Freight, wow it must be a nightmare for you, I am no deaf and I feel like I am going to get cancer every time I go in there because the chemical and rubber smell is so bad, I get sick from going there, I heard people who lose one sense have their other senses heightened so it must be worst for you. Anyways I would not but anything like that from Harbor Freight though I do have their security bit set and it is pretty good for the price.
I've never seen ones come with drill bits, only screwdriver bits. They are'nt designed for that, quite slow RPM, and don't have an adjustable chuck. I'd probably look for a mini drill for that. Still, if you could find a hex drill bit to fit, they would probably drill in plastic and light wood.
Check the electric torque figure (not manual/hand which is often quoted ) Arrowmax Plus is their best and is only 0.20nm which is one of the lowest I've seen. Good for very delicate work though. The new CreationSpace models (linked above) seem to be the best spec but I'm waiting for mine to arrive to test.
I'm still using the Original WOWstick that used 2xAAA batteries (no light) and really didn't do it well, it was barely enough to get loose screws out. Dropped in ONE 3.7v Lithium rechargeable battery and a jumper made of a bolt and two nuts and it can take out most small screws and torque them down very well without assistance. Been working great for the last 5 years 😁Best part, i can just swap in a freshly charged battery when it starts to feel weak. I can go through about 5 jobs with 30+ screws no problem. FYI, I'm using Lithium rechargeable EBL AAA batteries
CreationSpace CS1901A is not good for precision work if its torque is 1.5Nm. That is enough to strip every screw on most electronics needing a precision screwdriver. That is the type of torque you might want for self-tapping screws for wood and plastic. You also need something with better ergonomic grips than this for higher torque levels.
I wasn't able to magnetize the bits of the Xiaomi Precision, but the Wowstick you can (it comes with a Magnetizer). Regardless, all these drivers including Wowstick, CreationSpace and Xiaomi have a standard bit and slot size, so you can just buy a set of bits that will magnetize if you find the existing ones won't.
@@CheapCheerful thats strange, I had the old precision screwdriver without electric motor, these bits were magnetized, you could try to rub on a fairly strong magnet to see if this will help magnetizing instead of using a standard magnetizer ?
hi again! I got myself hands on the xiaomi precision electric screwdriver , the bits were indeed not magnetic, but the bits was attracted to a magnet, rubbing them together magnetized the bits. so yes the bits are magnetizable 👌👌
That's an amazing comparison video, easy sub. I knew these Xiaomi screwdrivers are fishy at best. My tip for this is to always ignore the good reviews on the Chinese websites and look for the low-star ones, starting with one star. Btw, it's especially ridiculous that you can get the much better Creationspace for the same price as the new Xiaomi one. Saved me a bad purchase.
@@CheapCheerful I just got it today and what I received is the CS1901A. I'm not sure the CS-190A is still on sale. Anyway, it came with a micro-USB port and not the expected USB-C. I think the CS-190A was discontinued.
As a daily user of precision power screwdriver I'd say there's, probably, only one parameter to look for - RPM. Everything below 350 RPM is a crap and not worth buying. Torque is also important, but not as much. Electric precision screwdriver is either for some work or for a play couple times and forget. If it is for some work - you need it to screw-out/in a lot of screws fast - that's the main reason for it. You can break out some stiff screws or tighten up, but when dealing with 10+ screws with in a single device (that is going to be repaired) - you want to save you time and that's where RPM is needed.
@@CheapCheerful For the moment - Jakemy JM-Y02 (which is available from other brands) for torx bits and JM-Y03 (not a plus version) for philips (no particular order in there, just need two so not to change bits frequently). Been using ES121 for a long time, but it is too heavy and the button is too hidden. By the way, about buttons - after short period of using screwdriver you get muscle memory and remember how to grip it properly without looking at it, so, in fact, particular buttons placement is not very important. Moreover, placing buttons close to the bit is not a good idea. I'm not sure it will be any better.
All i care about are, Rotation Speed Under load and Battery life. I know its allot to ask for when buying a mini eletric screwdriver. Mainly Speed, i have to do allot of laptop jobs in a small timeframe.
@@CheapCheerful yes please! I've been wanting to get one for a while, but hoping there'll be a slightly better one with the form size. The bosch push drive seems like what I should get, but I still rather a smaller one.
omg a riptrax! man, i wanted every single one of those but i was a poor kid so i never got them, lol, also someone witgh art tallent should watch this and make a 3d printed sleeve from that rubbery soft stuff, have to try a bunch of ones to see which is best tho, might even be able to design button extender/pressers thingies
Thanks sooo much for making this video. You most definitely have the most information and most importantly detailed info on these drivers. I have yet to find anyone else that can even compare. Keep up the good videos...thanks again
@@CheapCheerful and sometimes its level 2 torque is useful to do a real quick job of carpeting screws if they were not that extreme tight, tho, i still use a normal screwdriver for tightening! Besides, its brake or the manual usage mode is decent yet gives u that feeling it might break if u pushed it to the maximum so i avoid using it unless its for something really easy to tighten like what it is intended to be used with. A worthy note mentioning is that the bits are always demagnetized which defeat the purpose of being a screwdriver for precise work....well apparentlyi was wrong, part of it the chienese manuals with it(yeah i got the non global version, _but ig u have the global version yes? The. Are there any differences?_and i noticed after downloading its english manual that it has a magnitzer space under the bits space in the aluminium box!!! And it sure works wonders and the bits get magnetized enough to hold screws up!
@@CheapCheerful aaand another curious question, im glade to hear it lasted you for years, but if by any chance the batt of it died, can it be replaced or used as a wired screwdriver?
You are correct yes. As I say at the start, this is not a review, I was looking at buying a new driver to replace my old Xiaomi so conducted an analysis of what was on the market, and whether it was objectively better than my current Xiaomi which has been around for years, and many people own. The conclusion was that only 1 of them was any good based on specs alone, the CreationSpace, but it was hard to buy (at the time), and everything else was the same, or worse than the Xiaomi. So I decided not to upgrade personally. That was 1 year ago though. Since this video was so popular, I've gone ahead and purchased all the latest drivers for 2023, and will be releasing a hands-on review of them shortly.
So you don't own the other five screwdrivers? It's pure speculation. Something to consider about Creation space is that there's almost no reviews and from the looks it uses large bits which you can't use for electronics repair. Those stepped down bits are harder to find and more expensive.
Yep, it's an on paper assessment before I buy. In the end, per the video, I decided the upgraded specs on offer wasn't worth it for me, but may be for others. Agree on the CreationSpace. I'm planning a new review, with the latest models.
@@CheapCheerful make sure it's before black Friday so you get more views. I was browsing electric screwdrivers and there's not a perfect one. They all have flaws.
Looks very nice. 2.8kgf (0.25nm), slightly stronger than Xiaomi. There's many out there, this one looks worth considering too. Thanks for your feedback!
I think it is not fair to lower the rating of the wowstick for the use of micro usb, since it is an older model than the xiaomi mijia, it has been on the market for 3 or 4 years? While the xiaomi 1 or 2 years? That's why type c. I liked your comparison, I'm about to buy the two jakemy you mention, although I may not buy the one with no brake. And about the creationspace I hadn't seen it or maybe I had, but now I will consider it to buy it, if I find it at a good price. By the way, I have 3 wowsticks, the one with an AAA battery, the rechargeable one with few tips, and the 69-in-1 package, which is the top, likewise, I have the xiaomi mijia, which I think is the best of the 4 that I have. Greetings.
Why is it not fair? Chinese companies often revise products 5 times a year. If they aren't willing to revise the product, they might as well get a lower rating. If you personally don't care that it's using a plug that you have to turn around 3 times until it goes in, feel free to just ignore that whole line in the comparison chart.
@@SianaGearz Does that mean that this model is still being manufactured exactly the same as it was 4 years ago? If that really is true, then I agree. The item must get a low rating. Otherwise. So it's comparing an old item to a new one and it's not fair to the old one.
@@TheEchelon No. It is not an inferior product. It's just older, that's why it uses usb 2 instead of type c. If to this day it is still manufactured with that type of usb 2 input, then yes, it could be considered a lower quality or inferior product.
Thanks for the feedback. Do they stick to screws though? The case and driver has built-in magnets (so will suck in the bits), but on mine and another guys here they won't stick to screws or magnetize well enough.
I dont get your rating, the Creationspace is a kickstarter that went horrible wrong. Most people didnt get it or got a faulty dead screwdriver. I guess they all got screwed!
Interesting! Never heard about that, thanks for the tip! I only know them as a brand on AliExpress, they're still selling several new models to this day. Disappointing to hear the Kickstarter went wrong, but I guess that's the inherent risk of the platform. Let's hope they're doing better now.
@@CheapCheerfulWell I went and watched other reviewers and then I went on the official kickstarter page from them and read the reviews. And the first 2-3 pages of the reviews there all complained about either not getting the product or it arrived with faulty battery or broke after 1-2days!
3.5kgf/cm = 0.34323275 N/m. The creationspace has a slightly higher but not as high as alleged here. The numbers from their kickstarter has the accurate numbers in kgf/cm and other cites either don’t mention it or drop the units. No mention is made of torque under load. Unboxing videos appear to show a cheap product.
Idk I loved everything about my wowstick f1,the size, how it fits in the hand and overall power so much I bought the full size wowstick SD. Only thing I don't like, and is the case with all of them...is the lack of customer service and the lack of a combined storage case
@@CheapCheerful No, it’s not about speed. How can 2 month use of 200rpm is more wear then 150rpm of 3 years? Now I am using precision 28in1 screwdriver from Amir available on Amazon. It’s 200rpm, cheaper, rechargeable and better than 1f+ in life. I have also ordered Jakemy Y03 plus. Will update on that later when it arrives.
The wowstick has 3nm max torque the mija has a pathetic .2nm making you have to do all the hard work only good for fixing smartphones and small devices.
Sorry friend, but this is intentionally misleading marketing which all the electric screwdriver manufacturers do. The Xiaomi Mija also claims 3nm max torque, just like the Wowstick, however these figures are for the *manual mode* torque. I.e., the maximum torque you can get by turning it with your hand, before the brake/clutch gives way. The highest torque of the electric motor on Wowstick is 0.15nm, and the Xiaomi Mija 0.20nm. Sneaky marketing hey? ;) Interestingly, they are both made by Xiaomi now, and in practice are very similar. I'd recommend getting whichever one has the features you like (eg. light, usb type).
@@CheapCheerful No you're wrong sorry but the .2nm for the mija and 3nm for the wowstick are both true you don't have to manually start turning screws with the wowstick as you do with the mija.
@@dalerobertson5424 I'm just going by what it says in my manual "Electric torque peak = 0.15nm. Manual torque peak = 3nm". Or from Xiaomi Today "The motor supplies 0.15 N-m of torque and manually it can handle a torque of 3 N-m". www.xiaomitoday.com/2018/12/05/wowstick-1f-electric-screwdriver-review19-off-now/ Or the Wowstick Official Store "Working Mode: Electric: 0.15N.M; Manual: 3N.M" It's possible these are all wrong I guess, but do you have something confirming 3nm electric torque?
I bought the Creationspace CS19 because of this review and it turned out to be absolute trash. The torque selection knob started to fail after just a couple of months of use and ultimately the screwdriver stopped working at all because of it. Other people are reporting similar issues. I took it apart and the knob mechanism is incredibly cheap and poorly made. Of course, being a trash Chinese company, Creationspace has non-existent warranty support, so if you have a problem, you're on your own. Ultimately got myself a Dremel HSES-01 (aka Bosch Go), which is vastly superior to all the glorified paperweights you're reviewing here and less expensive too. It is very powerful when you need it, but also has a mode that will not overtorque even the tiniest of screws. Maybe next time try reviewing some proper electric screwdrivers instead of all of this trendy looking brushed aluminium trash with pathetic torque and/or poor reliability.
Hello there. See ( 1:39 ) in the video. Precision electric screwdrivers are industry standard for small electronics such as mobile phones, tablets, etc. Most repair stores use these, and mine personally has lasted 2 years. They're not designed for work a Dremel HSES-01 is meant for, as it's a full size electric screwdriver. While I'm sure you could disassemble a mobile phone with a Dremel, I think after the first dozen you'd be calling out for something small, thin, and light that's suitable for the task. This is why precision drivers were created, and why they're plastic inside. In any case, thank you for the feedback, hopefully this will serve as a warning to those shopping for full size electric screwdrivers to stay away from precision electrics. I would ask that you perhaps tone down your comments as they do come across as a little racist and needlessly aggressive - And remember, I did not ask you to buy the CreationSpace, I only said what I personally would buy, based on the information available. Thank you.
@@CheapCheerful The HSES-01 is roughly the same weight and size the CS19 and both are advertised for taking apart electronics, which is exactly what I need them for. In fact the Dremel is much better at handling tiny screws as it will not overtighten them no matter what, it simply stops rotating when they're in while the CS19 requires quite a bit of fiddling with the torque knob to avoid applying too much torque. I've had a WowStick as well, so I agree with you that it's no good. That thing barely has the torque needed to take apart a cellphone and can't even loosen most laptop screws, not to mention computers or video game consoles which I service a lot, it can't handle 90% of the screws used for those applications. I fail to see how calling out the horrendous quality and support of many Chinese companies is "racist". Working on electronics, I constantly have to order parts and tools from China and a whole lot of it is absolute trash. I've received many broken out of the box, unreliable, or plain unsafe products from Chinese companies and they do everything they can to not honor warranties either. There's plenty of good stuff too, but these precision screwdrivers ain't it. In the case of the CS19 I'm just warning people that they should avoid it at all costs because it's poorly designed, unreliable, and Creationspace doesn't honor warranties at all even on their official Aliexpress store.
@@AlDim000 Alright mate, now I just think you're trolling. The HSES weights 6 times as much (370g vs 56g) and is almost twice as thick. They cannot be compared. "Trash Chinese Company" is racist, similar to saying "Trash American Company" would be racist. In any case, thanks for your feedback, I think that's all for me now! Take care :)
@@CheapCheerful LOL, get your facts straight, dude. I measured them just for you. The HSES-01 weighs exactly 300g and the CS19 is a little under 200g. You can't have a 56g device deliver 1.5Nm of torque, it's just not a thing. Yes, obviously the Dremel is thicker, but given the much better grip compared to the CS19, it doesn't feel bulkier and it's much less awkward to hold. Regardless, the issue of the CS19 is build quality. It just can't handle a real sustained workload like a proper electric screwdriver even though it's advertised to handle assembling furniture (so much for comparing it to precision electric screwdrivers... it doesn't even come with precision bits lol).

Interesting, thanks for the info.
same here, and the speed adjustment knob is very flimsy. I almost ruined it before turning my first screw. But it cost less than I expected (on Aliexpress) and the quality and performance seem very good. If it lasts a while, I will be very happy with it.
Are extension bits available for these drivers?
The chuck in most electric screwdrivers are just 1/4" hex adapters, so you can use standard bits and extensions.

Anyways I would not but anything like that from Harbor Freight though I do have their security bit set and it is pretty good for the price.
Wowstick is Xiaomi, it's just their older models.
Xiaomi has a bunch of sub brands like Mija, Yeelight, Hailou and at least 10 more.
True! One of my favourite brands! Gotta watch out for the fakes though, so many claim to be Xiaomi related when they're not.
do you know if any of these come with drill bits?
I've never seen ones come with drill bits, only screwdriver bits. They are'nt designed for that, quite slow RPM, and don't have an adjustable chuck. I'd probably look for a mini drill for that. Still, if you could find a hex drill bit to fit, they would probably drill in plastic and light wood.
@@CheapCheerful ok, thank you for responding, and good vid btw 👍
what do you think of ARROWMAX SES PLUS?
Very interesting!
Hmm i just recently got a random electric screwdriver. It's more bulky and not like these slim shape/pen shape ones.
Yeah, I've found these perfect for working on WPL models, I use the Xiaomi electric and a set of Wiha precision drivers which are my favorites.
Yes, absolutely. Xiaomi good for small electronics, CreationSpace better for things like RC cars and larger electronics.
Can you magnetice the bits ?
Thanks man, and yes agree 100% re: look for the low star reviews!!

@@CheapCheerful Basically, it's kinda weak, so won't do damage. 😉

Thanks for your input, appreciated. Which driver do you use and prefer?
The Creationspace one seems awesome, but with that kind of torque I would be too afraid of stripping those tiny little screws with that much torque...
I know it's a long time ago but I found out that the torque is adjustable starting from 0.5
All i care about are, Rotation Speed Under load and Battery life. I know its allot to ask for when buying a mini eletric screwdriver. Mainly Speed, i have to do allot of laptop jobs in a small timeframe.

I’m buying the creationspace one ☝️ thanks for the overview
Great choice!
Sadly both are better options than xiaomi that they never existed in stores.
so ig my xiaomi one is the best choice i made then
Yep. The Xiaomi is perfect for its intended purpose - small electronics, mobile phones, tablets. Mine is still going strong after so many years.
Uhm, am I missing something or did the reviewer just compare the stats without actually testing most of the screwdrivers physically?
They all have flaws.
you for got SEQURE SQ-ES126 for 100Eur.

@@CheapCheerful It has no awkward button to press like you mentioned is very badly positioned on all other ones.
Greetings.
Thanks for your comments, you make some excellent points! I think I'll sticky this, appreciated.
Of course it's fair to lower the rating, it's an inferior product. And older products tend to be inferior.
How much
I just received the xiaomi and the bits are magnetic. They stick both to the driver and the case
Thanks for the input, appreciated!
It would be nice if it was about assembly furniture too. I'd always have one in my pocket. #DoctorWho
for precision work you don't want a lot of torque.
Idk I loved everything about my wowstick f1,the size, how it fits in the hand and overall power so much I bought the full size wowstick SD. Only thing I don't like, and is the case with all of them...is the lack of customer service and the lack of a combined storage case
Yep, it's a good device. Xiaomi stuff generally is pretty good.
Wowstick 1P+ has best longest life. 3Years+ (10-12 laptops a day), and still working. Wowstick 1F+ has worst life, just 2 months.
Interesting. I guess the lower power of the 1P+ has the benefit of less mechanical wear.
The audio quality of this video is quite poor, it's difficult to understand what you are saying.
Thank you for the feedback, I agree.
Or from Xiaomi Today "The motor supplies 0.15 N-m of torque and manually it can handle a torque of 3 N-m". www.xiaomitoday.com/2018/12/05/wowstick-1f-electric-screwdriver-review19-off-now/
Or the Wowstick Official Store "Working Mode: Electric: 0.15N.M; Manual: 3N.M"
It's possible these are all wrong I guess, but do you have something confirming 3nm electric torque?
Turns out you are right and I'm a dumb ass sorry 🤣🤣
