- Here is my take on Vegan Chocolate Cake and this according to me is the best vegan cake recipe you'll ever need. Its rich, moist, chocolaty and super delicious. Try it even if you are not a vegan!
IMP NOTE: I forgot to show when I added the Vinegar and the Vanilla.
Add it along with the wet ingredients.

INGREDIENTS
Vegan Chocolate Cake:
200 grams ( 1.5 cup ) All purpose Flour
28 grams ( 1/4 cup ) Cocoa powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp Baking Soda
200 grams ( 1 cup) Granulated Sugar
120 ml ( 1/2 cup ) Vegetable oil
240 ml ( 1 cup) Boiling water
1 tsp Instant Coffee Powder
1 tbsp White Vinegar
1tsp Vanila Extract
IMP NOTE: I forgot to show when I added the Vinegar and the Vanilla.
Add it along with the wet ingredients.
Vegan Chocolate Ganache:
250 grams Chopped Chocolate
180ml (3/4 cup) Coconut Cream
Garnish
Strawberries
Melted Chocolate

I am not vegan, but I have 3 daughters, all vegan. I am going to surprise them with this recipe. It looks great and I am sure it is yummy.

Made this chocolate cake today. It's sooooo moist and soft. You don't even have to pour sugar water over it ( most recipes ask for it) this just melts in your mouth ! Quantity of sugar is just perfect.

Can I replace 1 cup sugar by 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup applesauce. This is to reduce sugar. Do you think it will work. Should water quantity be reduced too because of applesauce. Thanks.

@@Adilicious I made it in a mini pan ,and I think I added to much coffee and cacao, so it turned out a bit sour with out the frosting which I believe it's going to be ok
Also, can I double the recepie? Of course to make bigger cake
Is it Cocoa powder or cacao powder?
+ it's funny you said to use only the thick coconut cream on top but you used the liquid part
Raw cacao powder is made by cold-pressing unroasted cocoa beans. This process keeps the enzymes in the cocoa and removes the fat (cacao butter).
Cocoa looks the same but it’s not. Cocoa powder is raw cacao that’s been roasted at high temperatures.
+ I am using coconut cream in the video if you are using coconut milk then only use the cream on top that separates
I know what's the difference (cocoa powder can't be raw)
As for the coconut cream - it's not possible that you used only the hard part. Look at 3:01 it's liquid, differently not the hard part of the coconut cream...

I made it in a 9 inch pan and it's very thin 😥 but then again, I didn't add the vinegar, because I missed that part from the ingredients until after I made the cake and re read the description above the ingredients list. So maybe that's why it was too flat?? I just also rewatched the video to see if I missed anything and I realize that she used 6 inch pans. It looks thick, because the pans are small, but the cake itself is as small as her hand. Do not make the cake in 6 inch pans if you want to feed a whole family. You might want to triple up on the ingredients in thy case. I was going to make it for my brother for his birthday... but I might try tripling the ingredients next time.

Mélodie .D organic white sugar is. You don't know what type of sugar she is using, so you shouldn't judge. You should be supporting other vegans not giving them hate

I just want to THANK YOU! I tried this recipe and it is amazing can't even tell it's vegan! My layers were thin so I made a 4 layer cake I messed up 2 layers because I forgot the parchment paper but everything was perfect!

Adilicious Hey Aditi one query I have. Ganache becomes light in colour on whipping as we can see in the video. What can be done if we want dark coloured ganache?

Hello, tried this cake for my son’s 4th birthday and it turned out very well and he loved it. Would appreciate if you share more and more vegan recipes. Thank you so much.
I made this cake in a 8 inch round non-stick pan, i set the temp to 325F and baked for about 33min. Just a reference in case anyone needs it. The taste was amazing -I upped the coffee to a fine ground pea berry and used 1 tbsp. The cocoa powder was Hershey's rich dark chocolate and it tasted oh so heavenly!! The frosting came out absolutely develicious!!! All in all it hit the spot for a chocolate lover :) However my cake turned crubmly pretty after cooling. It wasnt dry, just very very crumbly. any thoughts on fixing that?

Hi, I made it twice, the first time the sponge was very runny so I added more flour, the second time I put only 150 ml of water with coffee and I still had to add a little flour, I wonder if it is a mistake in the recipe and it should be 140 ml rather then 240 ml of water. Also the first time I didn't put vinegar and the sponge was stickier, the 2nd time I remembered too late and I added the vinegar after I already mix the ingredients and the sponge was a little crumbly, next time I will mix the baking soda with vinegar and then add it to the mixture. The cream came much nicer using coconut cream rather than coconut milk. It is a nice cake, I gave to some friends and they really liked it. I live in UK and I use plain flour, Lindt dark chocolate, 70% cocoa, the rest is the same. Thank you very much for sharing this recipe!!!!

I mixed the baking soda with vinegar before adding it to the rest of ingredients and wasn't a good Idea.

Make sure the wet mixture is warm or room temp before adding to dry mixture. Its boiled water but it should not be added to the dry mixture super hot. Hope this helps if this actually the issue your having.

Vegan With Love I think the person meant they actually thought it was a milk brand/type. However, it's not it just describes the diff types of milk for vegan. I also never heard of those types of milk called 'plant' milk and I'm vegan lol. So good to know :-)
Great recipe but I'm highly allergic to gluten, does anyone have any suggestions of gluten free flour blends ( that you Know tastes good) I could use so I can make this? Thanks
the king arthur flour gluten-free blend is pretty stellar, and you can use it 1:1 as you would all purpose flour
I use the Great Value gluten-free flour blend. It’s the only one I feel makes baked goods taste well.

Will apple cider vinegar work instead of white vinegar?
Yes you can use white or apple cider vinegar. Usually the whole point of the vinegar in baking recipes is so that it makes the cake have more volume if you also use baking soda. Have you ever tried mixing baking soda and vinegar? It gets all foamy and stuff. :)
I made it with apple cider vinegar, yes it works the same but affects the taste, especially for me cause I knew it was in there lol.

Looks delicious. And just a tip. I hope you don't mind. I make a similar cake to this and what you can do is to substitute the flower for grated almonds, so almond flower. I think it should be a bit healthier like this as well. Btw to mix in a bit of liquor with the chocolate is a great advice. It makes me think of my mom's cake when I was young. She often used to do that :-) Nice channel and video as well!

Great recipe! I’ve made this twice without adding water, just almond milk and added 2 tablespoons of coconut oil to make it a bit softer. It cane out great! Thanks! Proof we don’t need eggs to make anything except eggs!

I know, it ruined my cake :( I followed the video exactly as well as the ingredients list, but I noticed that the measurements were off :( my cake is flat. She included the most important ingredient at the very top of the video description, not within the actual ingredients list nor in her showing during the making of the cake :( it looked so tempting out of all the other UA-cam videos but extremely unorganized and yeah, my brother's birthday cake is ruined. I'm watching another video. Hopefully it turns out well...

May be you dint emulsify the oil well with the mixture or are you sure you measured the oil right. No link to the bowls bought them from all around the world

This is seriously the BEST cake I have ever had. I usually cut it up, put bananas and frosting in between the layers and then frost the whole thing. My mouth waters just thinking about it.

No sub, I just put in the water without coffee. Tasted like a delicious chocolate cake and I'll definitely make it that way again (we don't drink coffee).

My cake turned out disgusting. It was dry crumbly, salty, and not sweet! The frosting was drippy and messy. What did I do wrong? I followed all the steps and used the same ingredients.

Hi, Can you please mention what brand of vegan chocolate you use for ganache. Finding it difficult to find good and affordable vegan chocolate that doesn't have refined sugar.
