I made the chocolate cake and it was so good. I baked it in a 9" pan but I baked two cakes to create two layers. They were super flat but quite thick. I doubled the frosting but it was so bitter that I bought another can of coconut milk and whipped it together with the frosting. I made this to practice for making a friends vegan wedding cake. It turned out great. The only thing I had a hard time with is the ganache. It started seizing up and wasn't smooth enough to spread and pipe. Maybe I didn't whip it enough...not sure. I used a vanilla nut coffee as a syrup in between layers. I've got to get that ganache down in order for it to look cleaner though. I thought of using Giada's Avocado Chocolate Mousse instead but we'll see. And maybe next time I'll use a raspberry or strawberry jam in between layers too. Thank you so so much for being here and helping spread vegan recipes!

I made this cake yesterday for my husband's birthday and it is truly fabulous. He said it was the best cake he'd ever had, and I agree. It is moist, light, rich and perfectly chocolaty. I frosted it with a mocha vegan-butter cream. Highly recommend.
I made this cake in a 8 inch round non-stick pan, i set the temp to 325F and baked for about 33min. Just a reference in case anyone needs it. The taste was amazing -I upped the coffee to a fine ground pea berry and used 1 tbsp. The cocoa powder was Hershey's rich dark chocolate and it tasted oh so heavenly!! The frosting came out absolutely develicious!!! All in all it hit the spot for a chocolate lover :) However my cake turned crubmly pretty after cooling. It wasnt dry, just very very crumbly. any thoughts on fixing that?
Best vegan cake ever . I have tried many vegan chocolate cake recipes but this tops all . I didn’t have white vinegar on me so I sub using 2 Tbsp lemon juice and it came out absolutely amazing.
I made this cake today it came out very moist and yummy more like a brownie. I always try to add some sort of healthy whole food goodness whenever the family eats baked sweets so, I blended a handfull of dates with the water and added two handfulls of raw sugar, a little carob powder and a little black strap molasses-also for color since I can't do coffee due to it's blood pressure raising effects. To this, I added two tsps of psyllium husk powder and a Tbsp of chia seeds for added fiber. Thankfully, the chicolately flavor integrity was maintained despite my changes. Thanks for sharing this easy super nice recipe!

Best cake ever. I used half the measurement from the recipe and made cupcakes out of it. I used soy milk instead of coconut cream for the ganache. The softest cake I've ever had. But obviously the consistency changes after putting it in the fridge

Just made the cake today for a vegan friend. It was absolutely delicious and super soft and soooo moisturize. I ate the leftovers by themselves lo. My only call out would be that it was missing a little bit of flour as the cake was breaking very easily and it was hard to actually put the ganache on it. So for the next batch I added a little bit of (250gr) and did make a difference as it was easier to cut and cover the cake, Thank you so so much for this recipe and your amazing work!
Vegan With Love I think the person meant they actually thought it was a milk brand/type. However, it's not it just describes the diff types of milk for vegan. I also never heard of those types of milk called 'plant' milk and I'm vegan lol. So good to know :-)

Yes you can use white or apple cider vinegar. Usually the whole point of the vinegar in baking recipes is so that it makes the cake have more volume if you also use baking soda. Have you ever tried mixing baking soda and vinegar? It gets all foamy and stuff. :)

Looks delicious. And just a tip. I hope you don't mind. I make a similar cake to this and what you can do is to substitute the flower for grated almonds, so almond flower. I think it should be a bit healthier like this as well. Btw to mix in a bit of liquor with the chocolate is a great advice. It makes me think of my mom's cake when I was young. I made these cake 3 days ago and it turn out perfect! I double the recipe and made an 8 inches super tall cake! My dad alone ate half of it😂 as a non vegan myself, i find it taste exactly like a normal chocolate ganache cake. Fudgy, moist chocolate heaven! I definitely recommend this recipe.
I'm in loveeeeeeeeeee. I just made this cake for tea my (none vegan) family ate it all. The only thing I change a bit we're, I didn't add the vanilla extract (we didn't have it at home) and I add 1/4 cup of coconut milk. Ahhh and I didn't add the icing too. Thank you 😍😍😍

I know, it ruined my cake :( I followed the video exactly as well as the ingredients list, but I noticed that the measurements were off :( my cake is flat. I've been making this ganach for my rum truffles since so many years. I absolutely love using coconut cream over dairy cream, thanks to my S.Indian heritage. At least you don't feel like it'll go on your hips :P

It was a success thanks for the recipe. I didn't have instant coffee, so only used hot water and I used a different ganache (sweet potato), but the cake itself was very good.

the king arthur flour gluten-free blend is pretty stellar, and you can use it 1:1 as you would all purpose flour
I use the Great Value gluten-free flour blend. It’s the only one I feel makes baked goods taste well.

I made these cake 3 days ago and it turn out perfect! I double the recipe and made an 8 inches super tall cake! My dad alone ate half of it😂 as a non vegan myself, i find it taste exactly like a normal chocolate ganache cake. Fudgy, moist chocolate heaven! I definitely recommend this recipe.

I'm in loveeeeeeeeeee. I just made this cake for tea my (none vegan) family ate it all. The only thing I change a bit we're, I didn't add the vanilla extract (we didn't have it at home) and I add 1/4 cup of coconut milk. Ahhh and I didn't add the icing too. Thank you 😍😍😍

I know, it ruined my cake :( I followed the video exactly as well as the ingredients list, but I noticed that the measurements were off :( my cake is flat. She included the most important ingredient at the very top of the video description, not within the actual ingredients list nor in her showing during the making of the cake :( it looked so tempting out of all the other UA-cam videos but extremely unorganized and yeah, my brother's birthday cake is ruined. I'm watching another video. Hopefully it turns out well...

my cake batter wasn't as runny as yours and my butter cream wasn't as thick or light coloured. but the cream probably depends on the chocolate used doesn't it!?
I've been making this ganach for my rum truffles since so many years. I absolutely love using coconut cream over dairy cream, thanks to my S.Indian heritage. At least you don't feel like it'll go on your hips :P

When I've made vegan chocolate cake, I make the filling with whipped cream and melted chocolate. It becomes sturdy whipped cream and tastes delicious
It was a success thanks for the recipe. I didn't have instant coffee, so only used hot water and I used a different ganache (sweet potato), but the cake itself was very good.
