In this recipe video, the cake ingredients are only for one layer. The chocolate ganache ingredients are for the two layers. If you want to make the cake as pictured, double the batter ingredients. If you're after the single layer, half the ganache ingredients mentioned. Please keep that in mind when making this recipe! 😊
@@rubshos I can make mistakes even when I studied the recipe multiple times, and still can mix up something, let's hope I'll remember this before I start cooking 🤞🙂
JKH I forgot to say that my family loves your Vegan chocolate cake and the ganache is superb. I add a few tablespoons of syrup and I use 2/3 the amount of sugar in the cake. It's divine. Thank you.
The ingredients are for the one but can easily be doubled to make the two layers as pictured ☺️ the ganache however was measured out for the double, so if you make a single layer, just half that recipe that I mentioned in the video. Hope you love it! 💚
JKH. I'm an Aussie living in San Francisco. I recommend that you put your recipe in Imperial measure. Americans do not understand metric at all and only a few would bother to transcribe your Metric ingredients. You would increase your following tremendously.
Super duper... super duper....ohh my god. Please make cake with jaggery. I don't eat sugar. And oil. Its really want I want. Air in the sponge. Without air in the cake sponge, I don't consider it cake. And your cake sponge is with bubbles...yuuuhuuuuuuu❤❤❤❤❤❤
This recipe looks delicious! Can I use agave syrup instead of maple? Also, If I can’t find the rice bran oil, and I use coconut oil instead, is it going to taste a lot? Thank you in advance
Hi, you can swap the maple syrup for agave. Coconut oil is fine but you will taste it ☺️ you can use any neutral oil - sunflower oil, and grape seed are also great options.
I personally don't but I think my taste buds have adapted to the taste. Unfortunately, I don't know any other ingredient that would give it the same consistency and sit nicely within the cake layers. You could try a more traditional icing?
You can, it just won’t turn out as fluffy. It will be a denser cake but still delicious 🙂 One reader over on the blog also mentioned that she substituted a bit with almond meal to add some moisture back in and she had great success.

lol lets hope people get the memo before they actually begin to make the cake. Its one of those unfortunate mixups.

Lovely tutorial. Thanks for posting.
Thanks so much!
Thank you for this amazing cake, what can replace the maple syrup in this recipe please ?
Any liquid sweetener will work ☺️
Looks real yummy..I’m baking it for hubby’s birthday 🥳 I..Thanks for sharing
Awesome! I’m sure he’ll love it 🥰
I’ll have to give it a try with gf flour and some almond meal
I hope it turns out nicely! It won't be the same consistency so just keep that in mind 😊
@@HeartfulTable - most things are different from “conventional “ food. It’s just the way it is
That looks so good! Chocolate is my favorite kind of cake, can't wait to try this recipe! 😊
Mine too! Can't go wrong with chocolate 😉 I hope you like it!
I am definitely going to make this on the weekend 🤤 are the measurements for the cake for a 1 layer or 2? Should I double?

Chocolate cake looks so delicious! Do you think I can leave out the coffee? And use something else?
You sure can, it just won't be as 'chocolatey'! Just swap it for more plant milk.
The Minimalist Vegan sorry for my late reply, but just wanted to say thank you!
@@Sarah-eb9rz you’re welcome! ☺️
Looks amazing! Another great one I’m going to make! Thanks you guys!
You’re so welcome! I hope you love it just as much as we do 💚
@@HeartfulTable yay!!!! I’ll post it too!!!😉
Beautiful recipe. Thank you. Will this amount suit 9 by 13 inch rectangle pan or do I need to tweak it. Kindly let me know.
Thank you! It will be fine, you’ll need to bake it for less time as it won’t be as high as the one in the video.
Looks yummy
Thank you! 🙏🏼

Thanks so much for sharing this beautiful recipe. Looks delicious, cant wait to try. Do you think I can use gf flour?
You can. I had someone comment on the recipe (on the website) saying that they did it with great success using gluten-free flour and almond meal.
@@HeartfulTable Thanks so much. ❤ I will bake this delicious cake with Bob's gluten free flour then❤Happy Sunday
@@DevikaDilip that would be my suggestion too. It's a great all-around gluten-free flour blend. Happy Sunday to you too :)
Do you have any recommendations for substitutes for the coffee? (I don't drink the stuff, and have nothing to brew any with either.)
Just add more plant milk. The cake won’t have that really rich chocolate flavour but it will do the trick ☺️
Looks great!!
I want to make a fondant covered cake.
Is the cake firm enough to stake them?
Thank you so much! I haven't tried it but it should be fine. Depends on how thick it is but I believe it would hold up fine :)

Deffo gonna make this!!! My weakness is chocolate cake 😭🤣🤣🤣

Thanks for your recipe! Do you feel coconut in it’s taste? Can I use something else instead of coconut cream?

As someone who can not stand coconut, I don't completely agree with that comment. Please give it a try and hopefully you will be thanking us later👌
Can you do this with Gluten free flour?💜

What would be the weight of cake?
I don’t know, I’m sorry. It’s not something I do when I make my recipes.
