ALSO, remember that if you get lucky and obtain a telebolt early, you can just use that to teleport above the lake
ALSO if all if that fails you can use the evil eye and the soil stone

Loved the targeted alchemy lesson towards a specific goal, now I'll never forget how to make levitatium
If all else fails for getting on the tree, you can also just reload the game (for example by pressing "reload with mods active" in the mods settings) and your hover bar is refreshed
This ^ but I didn't put that in the video because CHEATSY! (Nah, I just din't feel like it.) But, please, if you are ok with it, it's a very easy-to-do trick.

you can also use polymorph to get up the tree. polymorph, wait a bit, and go as high up as you can. the poly runs out while youre in the air and refreshes your levitation! might take a few tries to get the timing right, but this is a good one to know since polys are common starting flasks
you could also try unstable poly into a worm to get in the tree

Just today I managed to finally create the sun thanks to an early black hole letting me grab the music notes, just slap any trigger spell, then place damage modifiers and a multicast with the notes to get easy one shots

The special wand within the music room has great stats if you pair an add mana with a luminous drill for digging.

Yeah, I believe so too, but there's always a progression, you dont hqve to do the crazy things that they do in these videos, you can always start a normal run and keep trying and then look for basic stuff on yourube like spell wrapping and get better little by little.

Digging from the top was a major mistake :-)
Once my tablet COMPLETELY DISAPPEARED. THIS WAS RIGHT BEFORE THE END OF THIS HELL OF TABLET DIGGING.
In all, it would have been way faster for me to get tannerkivi.

By the way, the Kantele is pronounced Kandel-e, not Cantel! Its the name for a finnish box zither, and the Kantele sprite is actually a box zither too!
I tried listening to pronunciations online and, yeah, it's impossible to tell how to correctly pronounce things if you're not from the country of origin, because there are usually multiple different pronunciations, haah. Thanks.

I have always thought about the note spells, if they could be used for some fun combinations. This video and the one you mentioned opened my eyes.
Did this trick 10 minutes into my run and thought the Acid guys hadn't spawned when I was climbing the tree
Jumped off the tree directly into 10 acid guys and immediately died
One of my favorite creators, thank you for sharing this with me. I always really like your videos explaining deep or difficult mechanics that have interesting effects.
A technique I found to get either through or into the tree is worm baiting. Throw the worm egg in the tree deep into the cavern and hopefully it hatches into a medium sized, now you have to bait it into slowly digging through or into the tree.
It kinda sucks but it can work
Another spell based way of getting over: Circle of stillness and a water flask, since it's a very common spell early in the mines, this way can be very useful to create small ice platforms to stand on and then repeat and repeat.

@@NewUser000NewUser True, however I'm mostly trying to say that it can also work for making a small alcove to get over the tree rather than getting to the music room
I had a god-run, rapid fire high damage spell, infinite black holes and infinite circle of healing, killing the boss, digging back up and on my way to get to 11 orbs from east and west, and suddenly, death by high alchemist and squidward at the surface of the parallel worlds.
Noone told me that.
I need to refresh my alchemy because I forgot all about teleportatium transformations with slime and whisky. This is all very useful and I might try it soon.
if u got the teleport spell early you could go to the other notes spells in the sky, that is if u have both enough stamina and your tele wand can shoot fast or something

Honestly i‘d always get the tannerkivi and paha silma just for the infinite digging. You can tabletsurf up to the mountain, so the only thing you need is any explosive other than bombs

There's also the good old "save and exit when you run out of levitation energy and continue the run again to refill your energy midair" trick

could also use the old trick for getting into the gold biome and just stand in a puddle of chaotic poly until you poly yourself into a worm
Also Earth Stone+ the yey from the snow biom works very well and is 100% guaranteed to get in the run, just spend like 10-15 minutes getting them and you can dig throughost of the solid, even the tree

if you have melee immunity you can actually dig in a neat straight line with the worm by just not moving

Im a month into this game, still haven't gone past the hisi base and have no idea what the fuck this is but I love it
I woud love to start playing Noita since it seems super interesting but god, I am not prepared to doing my PHD studies all over again in order to play a game :D
A much, much easier method of climbing the tree is using the tablet telekinesis glitch. All you have to do is initiate the telekinesis glitch (which isn't hard), stand on top of the tablet, jump, and gently throw the tablet. Repeat until on top of the tree.
I tried those for a good 30 min yesterday and never could get it to glitch. Did it get patched or am i just bad?

I just chuck the 1st worm egg inside the greed room and try to bait the worm to dig into the tree and hopefully through to the other side.
The one question I have is, why are you being chased by an acid eyeball
When you get to the top of the tree for the first time in a run, about 10 of them will spawn at the bottom right of it.
how do the note spells effect other spells?
with regular stuff its like "explosion on contact" and im like "yea, that makes sense"
You can also use chaotic polymorphine then change into the worm and dig to that room

what's so good about the notes spells ? how to use them for powerful spells ?
Try:
spark bolt with trigger
[one or more of these] orbiting arc, linear arc, spiral arc, ping-pong path, increase lifetime
[one or more of these] damage plus, heavy shot, electric charge
short range homing or regular homing
a multicast like double, triple, quad, etc.
note spells for the amount of multicast you have.
The notes have natural piercing AND they have the potential to proc damage very quickly as they pierce the target. So, all you need to do is increase their lifetime so that they live a little bit longer (my favorite is orbiting arc, since it increases lifetime *and* adds damage), add some kind of damage to them (my favorites are either heavy shot or electric charge), and then add a homing (I usually use short-range) so that the note stays on the target.
Each note will stay on the target, piercing it and doing a lot of damage quickly. If you use more spells that add damage and more notes then you'll end up with a wand that can take down almost anything very quickly.

It continues to crack me up how useful the tablet is. You can dig with it, you can fly with it, you can kill enemies with it, you can kill (at least one) boss with it, you can steal spells with it, you can get into the glimmer room with it. Am I missing anything?
I know I'm late to this party but I have to ask: what's the mod you're using for the tooltips? With the names showing next to the cursor insteado of bottom or top.
Edit: Or ideally, your entire modlist if you still have it.
I don't use any mods 99.9% of the time, since I focus on the secrets of the game and some of those are disabled if you use mods. That feature is actually in the "input" part of the settings.

the holy bomb music note for the kantele is bugged
The levitation potion didn't work for me, I couldn't get onto the second branch, just next to it. The army of slime guys didn't help, of course.
In order to levitate higher, you should tap the button instead of holding it down. Also, if you stick closer to the tree then the acid spitters will not spawn on you like that (they'll still spawn, but they'll be down on the ground next to the tree instead of in the air attacking you immediately.)

Did that last clip in the outro of the video have a multiplayer mod on? There was icons that looked like one I saw before.
When you unlock these in the tree or the lake the first time, do they then appear in shops or on wands in future runs? Or do I need to go here every time I want the note spells?
Note spells don't appear in shops or drops - you have to find them in their set locations

This "note" spells works wierd Larpa_Bounce. If you cast it, it will copy next nearest spell, as I upderstand.
For example, I cast it many times, and after that cast 1 black hole, and it cast A LOT OF black holes

Couldn't you also use polymorphine to get up the tree?
Poly doesn't let you fly infinitely anymore (since early access). You can poly, wait 6 seconds, levitate, then turn into your "noita" self in the air, which refills your levitation meter, but this only works that one time and it's not quite enough to reach the top branch, even with perfect tap-levitating.
You *could* perhaps chaotically poly into a worm to dig in, or one of the enemies that teleports in order to get over the tree, though. That does require very good RNG, however. And you run the risk of being perma-poly'd if you try too much.

hold r till mud flask, grab eye and rock and you can get the minigun, notes, and 250k gold pre boss p easily its just time consuming

There are too many obscure things in this game, it pushes away new players. It's impossible to even get close to progressing when even basics of the "wand rules" and spells do not make sense.
Have all the wild, secret things in the world, that's great! But trying to get people into the basic flow of this game is stupidly hard.
Some games are supposed to be like this, and aren’t meant to be easy to attract new players. Because some people really crave this depth. It’s something that makes Noita extremely special.
