    Preservative is needed with a water based product. I'm sure you know this but i would pin a comment so folks are aware if they want to make it. Great video!

    • @beautybooster_diy4848
      @beautybooster_diy4848  10 місяців тому +7

      Indeed, preservatives play a crucial role in safeguarding the safety and durability of water-based skincare items. They prevent microbial growth, averting contamination, spoilage, skin issues, and extending the product's shelf life. It's worth noting that 3g of preservative is required for this specific product, as mentioned in the comments section. While it was included in the video with the essential oil, it was inadvertently accidently omitted from the written text. Please refer to the comments for clarification.

    Thank you for sharing your video. I can’t wait to make your magnesium cream. How about using vitamin E as as natural preservative? It supposed to extend the shelf life of products by preventing oxidation, and slowing the growth of certain bacteria. I use it in my salves that I make.

      You are very welcome. I appreciate your interest in making my magnesium cream! Best of luck with your cream.

      Yes, you can generally substitute natural beeswax for white beeswax in most recipes without significantly affecting the outcome, especially if colour is not a crucial factor in the final product. Natural beeswax may impart a slightly different hue to your final product compared to white beeswax, but it typically won't alter the performance or properties of the recipe significantly.

The recipe includes beeswax, which works exceptionally well as an emulsifier, ensuring a smooth, well-blended cream. With 3g of preservative, as mentioned in the description and comments, this cream maintains exceptional stability and balance. It is rich in magnesium, which supports skin hydration, reduces muscle tension and pain, and promotes relaxation. This cream holds a special place among my top favourite's due to its remarkable benefits and performance. I encourage you to try it yourself before forming an opinion, as its reliability and effectiveness make it a standout choice in skincare.

    • @beautybooster_diy4848

      Replacing both shea butter and coconut oil with another butter and oil, while keeping the beeswax, will alter the cream's texture and consistency. The new butter and oil you decide to use will impact how the cream feels and absorbs. You might need to adjust proportions to get the right balance. I recommend experimenting with small batches to find the ideal combination and consistency.

    • @beautybooster_diy4848
      @beautybooster_diy4848  6 місяців тому

      While it may seem like there's no emulsifier, the beeswax in the recipe actually helps create a stable emulsion. As for the preservative, I added 3g wit the essential oils to ensure the longevity of the cream. Without a preservative, the shelf life might be significantly shorter, and the risk of microbial contamination could increase.

      Shelf life is approximately 6 months to 1 year maybe longer with preservative (3g) when stored in optimal conditions, cool, dry, and away from direct sunlight. The actual longevity may vary depending on the efficacy of the preservative and the sterility of the production process. Regularly monitor for any signs of spoilage.

      My magnesium water-based cream without preservative, may last a few weeks to months. Factors like storage, ingredient quality, and hygiene influence shelf life. It can typically last anywhere from six months to two years with 3g Preservative. It's essential to monitor the cream for any changes in colour, texture, or smell, as these can indicate spoilage. If you notice any signs of degradation, it's best to discard the cream to avoid potential skin irritation or infection

      If you don't have a kitchen scale, you can use measuring spoons and cups as an alternative, although they are less precise. For small amounts, 1 teaspoon is approximately 5 grams of water, and 1 tablespoon is about 15 grams of water. Conversion charts are available online to help with other ingredients. Investing in a scale is recommended for accuracy.

      @@downsify Just incorporate your own magnesium brine , keeping water amount consistent. Adjust recipe to maintain desired magnesium concentration and tweak texture for preferred consistency. The concentration of magnesium brine can significantly affect the outcome of the cream, especially when using a stronger strength. Higher concentrations may result in a more potent cream, potentially leading to increased effectiveness in delivering magnesium benefits, but it could also affect texture, absorption, and skin sensitivity.

      Excluding water alters the cream's texture to a balm rather then being an emulsified cream, it differs from oil-based ones, maintaining a lightweight and less sticky feel. I used Beeswax. Beeswax isn't a traditional emulsifier, but it aids stability in creams like my magnesium cream. Its hydrophobic nature helps blend water and oil phases by forming a protective barrier around oil droplets, preventing separation. While not a classic emulsifier, beeswax contributes to cream stability, also beeswax is beneficial for skin, forming a breathable barrier.
