Ellen I want to thank you again! You have taught me sooo much. I have a question about the magnesium brine. Have you ever or what do you think about the idea of replacing the water with a lavender Hydrosol?
Oooo, I think a hydrosol would be wonderful in this.💕
Fantastic Ellen, this is exactly what I hoped a soaper was going to cover for Magnesium in a lotion. I use magnesium for spasms in my shoulders and neck, and the effects are amazing. I do hate the feeling on the skin, it's weird and doesn't dissipate like a lotion would. You've given me a chance to experiment further, and not be flying blind. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and giving us a chance to try something different. Your very much appreciated. 😍 😍
Glad you found it helpful, I hope you give it a try❣️
@Ellen Ruth Soap you have such a lovely voice and way of speaking! Its so nice listening to you and thanks for your videos!!
Thank you so much!
Thanks for this video, my husband has restless leg, and this will be great to apply before bed, good night sleep here we come 😴!
Glad it was helpful!❣️
This is awesome Ellen. Had been looking for a magnesium lotion. Now I have found one. Appreciate who you are!!
You are so welcome!🥰
Great video - thank you! I have used topical magnesium before, but only dissolved in water. This seems like such a nicer way to apply it, and I will definitely give it a try.
Hope you enjoy it❣️
I love this! I can’t wait to try making this lotion…and I’m very thankful that you share these recipes as you do…🥰
Thank you for watching 🥰
Ellen, thank you for offering your time and skill educating us. You have given me confidence to begin diy self care. Thank you :)
I tried this recipe and it seemed OK until I added the preservatives and essential oil. It looked like it was separating so I kept mixing but got a but frustrated when it didn't seem to be blending and threw it out. Definitely planning on trying it again, hopefully I will be successful
so sorry you had trouble with the first batch.. I hope the next try goes better❣️
I love this recipe, Ellen. I thank God for your life 🙏
I am happy to see your description but need to confirm all above and lavender oil 0.7 oz
Yes, you are right
I can’t wait to try making your lotion! Thank you so much for sharing your expertise and recipe. I wondered how much you charge for a jar as I didn’t see any in your store.
Hi Ellen,Thank you for this recipe.I am suffering for lag cramp and Arthurits and cant open my fingers. It a blessing to see this lotion you made. Can i have the percentage of ingredients which you include as I am making it for the first time so want to make a small batch to see,if it is successful in making this.I will be very grateful .Thank you.
Wholesale Supplies Plus has a percentage calculator that is very handy.
I absolutely adore you. This crossed my mind a while ago and totally forgot about looking for a recipe. You're an angel. I guess it was meant to be for me to find this. 😁 Thank you!💖
🥰 Thanks! So glad you found the recipe, enjoy❣️
You are a God send!!! Thank you for such a wonderful help and the process!!! I LOVE magnesium!!!!❤️💕
You are so welcome!
Ellen, silly question. To make a smaller batch, do I just cut everything in half? Thank you for your videos. You are my inspiration to try soap making 😊
Yes, you can halve the recipe👍
Thank you for all you do, Ellen. Your channel gives me so much inspiration ❤ I'd really love to see you make a video making a salve or balm using ingredients like menthol, camphor, herb infused oils (arnica, comfrey), turmeric, cayenne, etc. I think you get the idea 😉 I think it would be amazing.
Thanks for the fabulous suggestion for a salve👍
Just made it! Thank you so much.
Did you mention how to store the lotion ?
It's shelf stable for storage.
Thank you so much for sharing all of your recipies❤ Please could you have alternative measurements converting to ml, cup or teaspoon measurements🙏
Google has a great oz to grams or ml function👍
Hi from Florida! Thank you for sharing all the time, effort, and so much care you put into making your amazing products!
You are so welcome!💕
I love Ruth Ellen recipes!I’m curious though … will the magnesium melt in hot oil? I’d rather make a body butter or a tallow balm than a lotion so I can skip the water and preservative. If not, I’m gonna make this ❤
Yes, magnesium flakes are oil soluble. So you should be able to make butter with them.
awesome content. You made that very easy to understand. Thank you !
Dear Ellen! Thank you for this wonderful recipe! It works perfectly..I learned a lot from you. Thank you. With love Margriet from the Netherlands
Wonderful! So glad you enjoyed it❣️
Hi Ellen, first let me say, I Love your channel and videos. I have a couple of questions for this lotion. 1) instead of the emulsifying wax, could you use beeswax at the same ratio? 2)what could you substitute for the Stearic acid (what does it do)? 3)is there an option for the Optiphen (ie. Honey or vitamin E) and ratios? Thanks
Beeswax does not make a great emulsifyer, so I wouldn't recommend it. I haven't made this with other ingredients so I can't speak to reformulating..
This is a fantastic recipe and I thank you so much for providing it to us and showing us how to make it. I was wondering if there's a way to calculate how many milligrams of magnesium is in one tsp of cream based on your recipe.
Glad you're enjoying the recipe! I know there is a way to do the calculations, I haven't run the numbers...
Thank you 😊. I love watching you create! So elegant and tidy 💕
Thank you! 😊
I made a batch of this yesterday, I LOVE the feel of it! Could I make it without the magnesium? Would it retain the same skin feel?
Yes, you can use plain water and it will still be a luscious lotion.
Thank you Ellen, I learnt something new from you today. Thanks for continuously sharing your knowledge.
You are so welcome!💕
Oooh this looks great Ellen. I have muscle problem areas that could use something to soothe them. I know magnesium does help with muscle cramps and even sleep. Didn't know about restless legs though. I'll let you know if I make this. Thank you for the recipe and your process!
Brilliant 👏can't wait to try! I have been seeing ads for this so glad I can make it myself.
Hi Ellen, how do you think a hydrosol would work instead of distilled water? Thanks for this awesome recipe! I’m going to make some for my mom, she suffered a massive stroke and her muscles cause her so much pain.
I think a hydrosol would work great in this formula. What a sweet way to care for your mother💕
@@EllenRuthSoap thank you! Yes, just trying to ease her pain and make her feel as “normal” as possible. Thank you for your kind words. 💜
Requires a lot of ph adjustment but can be done
Thank you so
Much for this. I love all
Your recipes. Questions would this be too thick to put in a pump bottle?
Thanks! Yes, I think this formula would be a bit too thick for a pump.
Love this video.i suffer with resless legs in the evening and take magnesium tablets ,this lotion looks lovely 😍 x
I made this lotion a couple of weeks ago and it works well! I just have a problem with the soaping effect with the lotion I made. Do you have any suggestions for fixing soaping?
I'm not sure what's causing that.?. Perhaps try a different E-wax?
Thank you Ellen I know I do not say this enough
Great video! I’m excited to try it. Because I am highly allergic to mango.,do you have the substitute for that particular butter other than doubling up on the Shea?
You can replace the mango with any quality butter, like Kokum, Cupuacu or more…
You’re a gem Ruth
I love how informative you are with your videos I love your channel...
Thank you! And thanks for the spelling check😉
@@EllenRuthSoap no problem my friend😊 I deleted my comment because no one needed to see it but you ...
Ellen Ruth, thank you soo much for sharing. I really needed to see & have the knowledge. I’m so excited to make & use. I am a hardcore user of mag oil.
I hope you give the recipe a try, I think you'll love it!
@@EllenRuthSoap I’m ramping up for festivals 😵💫😬😂🥰
Hi Ellen! I just love your videos and appreciate you sharing your knowledge! I was wondering if it’s possible to use goat milk in place of the distilled water?
I don't recommend milk in lotions due to the amount of preservative needed...
@@EllenRuthSoap not me feeling star-struck from your response. 🌺🌻🌺 thank you!
I made this formula and it is wonderful! Do you know how much magnesium it delivers per gram of lotion? (How can I figure that out?) Thank you so much for sharing all of your soap knowledge!
I haven’t done the math on the magnesium load per use..
Hey Ellen! Thanks for sharing. You're an awesome teacher! Quick question since our application is slightly different. Can you confirm how many ounces of flakes per ounce of finished lotion? Thanks!!
So for this recipe I used 11 oz of magnesium and 11 oz of water, for a 22 oz total.
Thank you for sharing this video. I hope you offer this product again soon.
Made this yesterday.. I love it sooo much.. could this recipe be used as a normal lotion, minus the mag flakes??
Yes 👍
@Ellen Ruth Soap OH My Goodness, I'm excited... Thank you So much.. I've learned so much from you.
Thank you so much for sharing this. I can’t wait to have a go at making it 🤗👍🏼
