Thank you for the honesty of this video. I’m working on weight loss, but I need solutions for right now. Thank you.
I absolutly cracked up at the dog coming in behind him and looking dead into the camera, fully expected it to roll it's eyes or something.
I love Boxers.
Good how-to. Appreciate that you spent so much time figuring out the many variables, caveats, helpers, etc.
Pistol Pete Thanks bud, I really appreciate that. Thanks for watching!
Well done! Outstanding AIWB video for anybody not just heavy guys.
This is one of the most useful videos I've seen to date on what to expect when carrying appendix style.
Thank you for this review. This video answered the problem with my deciding on a carry belt. After watching this, I went online and ordered myself a belt. Great review and great information. Thank you for taking the time to do this. I really appreciate it!
I'm a big guy..5-11 trainer belt works for me..I gained all my weight in the last 3yrs due to brain tumor ..severely put a damper on my exercise
Great video. Very informative and descriptive. Been carrying for 25yrs. and never considered a couple of these things. Well done, thanks.
Probably one of the best informative videos I've seen to date and you didn't feel compelled to use tacticool fluff. Thank you
This is the best/ most informative video I’ve found! Thanks! Getting an FDO for sure!
You hit the nail on the head. And that being a SA/DA weapon. With a heavy pull for your first round, there is no way for me to an accidental discharge.
Second; I’m “full figured and appendix carry. I had my holster custom made. I had a cant built in the holster pivoting the weapon back towards my hip. It made, for me, a smoother, more natural draw.
Thank you for taking the time to put this informative video together.
Thank You for your detailed review and description on bigger guys appendix carry.
This was very informative as well as detailed oriented.
As a fellow fat guy I agree that the basic appendix type holster with the wing is more comfortable than the sidecar rigs that have become so popular and I also carry a CZ , I chose the P 01 omega for the same reasons as you chose the 07 I felt it was more safe withe the double action pull and for me the extra weight of the aluminum frame is a non issue. Great video !
Wow! Lots of good information there. Thanks, I got a couple some good tips. You put a lot into your presentation.
Fred Kumm Thanks! Check out my other videos and don’t forget to subscribe. Let me know what else y’all would like to see
Thanks for the great information. I'm getting ready to purchase my first pistol, and am learning a lot about what I need to make my package complete, so it is usable right away.
Congratulations, that is great to hear. I'm glad this information helped. I would recommend purchasing extra magazines and lots of range ammo as soon as possible. I'll be posting a "what's in my range bag" video soon as well which will go over exactly what it sounds like. Thanks for watching, please don't forget to subscribe for more content.
Really appreciate the details you go over. I’ve been having trouble getting my rig to sit properly without printing significantly. You’ve validated some of my theories on gun length vs. holster length and pelvic contact/holster angle.
If you have a gun i would recommend trying 2.30 with a decent cant. I do it and it works pretty good
Thanks for that leaning back tip. I've carried at 0100 for years and never tried it👍🏾
Another belt to look at is one you've probably already considered and that is the Kore essentials. I just picked one up and i'm kicking myself for waiting so long. Micro adjustments through the track system make adjustment quick and precise and it provides a GREAT platform to draw from. Also it doesn't LOOK like a tactical belt, so it can be worn for EDC or even when not carrying. The only drawback is that it is pricey, but you'll go a long, long time before buying another one.
Great video! Very good advice regarding clothing and belts. I have a bit of a belly so I was worried about appendix carry especially when sitting but this reassured me. Thanks!
Very informative, thanks for covering the sitting position and belts.
Loved the Dogs Cameo
for belts, I recommend a ratcheting belt. It's so much easier to adjust your belt, which is especially helpful when appendix carrying because you can loosen or tighten it without any hassle
I like to see that FDO holster. Love their stuff. Have their holsters for all my guns
Great video. Very well done. Thanks for the Apendix carry holster recommendation also.
Just ran across your video. A lot of very good information. I appreciate your honesty not all of us have a 30” waist. I especially like the lean back approach to draw. As we all know seconds count. Looking forward to more of your videos.
I appendix carry and I agree with everything you said. I’ve been through a lot of different carry methods and appendix carry is the best for me with a 3.8” barrel or so.
Im a bigger dude and tired of carrying on hip, im going to have to try make apex work for me so I really appreciate your work n effort n time in putting a well thought out simple to understand video on this topic for us, I hope appex works out for me, my last way will be shoulder holster, which could be my best option, but I never tried apex even when i was young n had a 32 inch waist , now its 42 inch, but I'm 6'3 n muscle n fat so carry my beat up old vet body around with all 280 lbs. Thanks much n stay safe everybody
Thanks for watching! Let me know if you have further questions. You can also checkout my article on this topic that was just published in Skillset Magazine
I carry off body in a 5.11 in a select carry pouch or a comfort tack belly band, I like the belly band because you don't need a belt and it's easy to adjust/move around.
Thank you for the video.
Can't agree more about placement, adjustment and last but not least, the DA/SA gun.
I make my own holsters and realized the " pelvic contact surface" the hard way.
My Bersa TPR C , with a short holster, tended to tip away from my body since the most of the weight resulted to be in the 13 round magazine.
By the way, the look in your doggo's eyes is heart warming! Cheers!!!!
I have the exact same CZ P07 but never thought to try AIWB with it. I usually carry it at the 3 o'clock position in a Tagua thumb break with either a Amish bull hide belt or a 5.11 Tactile TDU belt.
What you said about the gun tipping out, is why I'm going to Glock 19. I've carried a Kel-Tec 9 for 23 years but I believe the barrel being too short is why I have a hard time not printing. So with other people's opinions, I've decided to try the Glock 19, because it is a longer barrel and I'm hoping that with that and the wing it will actually be easier not to print. I'll find out soon, I'll be picking up the new gun this week.
By far the best aiwb video for the average dude I've seen. Thank you I've learned alot.
Best vid on the internet for appendix carry tips and tricks. Well done.
This is a good video. I'm built very similar to you and run a G19 Gen5. Getting my CCW soon and need idea for carry methods that balance practicality with comfort as best a possible.
Thanks! I was wondering how I was gonna get around that gut! Lol 😂 I subbed because us fat guys gotta stick together. On a serious note, great 👍 video and information.
Just ordered a FDO holster for my Glock 19 glad to stumble on this holster in a appendix video.
Undershirt is the most beneficial thing I’ve learned to keep my gut in and keep my pull smooth.
Thank you for the video. I have a ruger ec9s and was confused why it was so uncomfortable to carry appendix, thinking that because it was a smaller gun it would be more comfortable. But the point you made about the length of the barrel inside your pants and pelvic contact completely makes sense. I'm on the lookout for a new holster that allows the gun to sit deeper in my pants
Thank you so much for this video. I have been concerned as a “big guy” how to properly carry
Great video! I appreciate you going through the adjustments when sitting. Other videos always seem to forget that.
Great, practical, informative video. Good job!
Thank you! I’ll try your suggestions. I don’t like 3:00, and hadn’t been able to sit with anything close to appendix because of how it pushes and pulls at every bit of my safety padding. Best I have found was 11:00 for cross draw, which I don’t like, but at least I could stand it and could find it comfortable. Thx for the practical suggestions!
I'm a big guy also, been carrying for years appendix. 1st,I wear my pants at my waist not under my belly. Makes it more comfortable and don't have the gun in between my thigh and my junk. 2nd, there are some companies that make side mounted mag holders. Way more comfortable. I made some out of high quality elastic,I bought it on eBay 6 feet for $12.00. Works great. Stays right up against my belt. Belts. I bought about 5 yrs ago now, 1' 1/2" Amish leather belt with out buckle on eBay for $30, and $10 For a good belt buckle. Been working flawless. Gd luck, stay safe and uphold our 2nd Amendment rights.
tons of good info ...thanks for all the tips and the way you presented everything👍👍
Thanks, very informative for heavier guys like myself!
Love this video brother, very informative. I’ve leaned alot just from this one vid.
Kelbert Connor That’s awesome man, I appreciate it. I just posted a video with the reload times for various spare mag holsters, you should check it out. It pairs well with this video
Great video! Thank you for addressing this carry solution for us bigger guys!
Great video. Also love the CZ P07. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for this video. Have looked at the holster you are using and have ordered one with a bit of an upgrade to allow me to use my Olight Valkyrie mini too. I use a SNAGMAG holsters for my spare magazines. I also use the same belt which I too find are truly awesome. I agree with your review of the belt too. I was interested in how you wore you belt as l use a Society Clinch Pick that I also carry on my belt. I will have to adjust my setup to see haw things workout. Thanks for the great demo.
Always wondered what that wing on some holsters was for thanks for explaining
Really loved your presentation. Great video.
Love the clear detail. Thank you!
Nice video, I am sure this was not entirely comfortable to film but you did great.
Great info. Have been considering appendix carry for a bit now but always felt my gut prevented it. Now I know better. Thank you very much.
@@yota_blaster5030 YW. Just subbed so I'm looking forward to watching more of your vids. Keep up the good work.
Great video. Practical and you covered the info others gloss over (sitting and transitions).
Brian E. Hoover Thanks for watching. I’ll have a video on carrying in your car or truck uploaded soon as well.
Very informative, thanks. First video I’ve seen that also addresses carrying a short barrel pistol in appendix. You’re absolutely right I carry a Sig 365 3.1” barrel and have the issue of my gut pushing it out, not much but enough to make it annoying. I’ll definitely look into getting a longer holster. Never thought of that. Thanks again and keep up the good work.
You can also attach velcro loop to the face of the holster clip and use the velcro hook on the belt to help secure the holster so it doesn't shift
Best video ever. So very well explained. Thank you so much
Very helpful and informative. I am going to go just as you suggested. Thanks!
As a fat dude, by far my favorite way to carry a spare mag is the "MagHolder" (one word). Clips over or under your belt and holds the mag horizontally. I can get stupid fast reloads and as long as my shirt tail is long enough to cover my belt (as it should always be lol), my mag stays concealed. And keeping it horizontal keeps the mag from jabbing me in the belly. Only mag that's printed for me has been a 21 round p320 mag.
So compared to the Neo Mag, the MagHolder doesn't take up any pocket space. It's only barely higher on the body, so it's easily accessed from concealment. And you can get a full grip as opposed to the pinch grip with a Neo Mag. Plus, it's $25.
Nice! I have a belt from We The People Holsters and they have a Velcro sleeve that does this exact same thing! I love it because it keeps it tight, the Velcro is strong, and most importantly I’m not getting stabbed in my side
Lo e it! 1st time CCW, got a hawg holster and it's weird feeling.
I love this belt from WPS!
Great video bro. Informative and thank you for showing the seated position.
Big guy here. I carry at 1:00. No problem at all. I carry everything but my 1911's. They dig in me a little, but I can do it.
@@settlesmachiningtools8671, just a no name regular AIWB bought off of eBay. No sidecar. I just loosen my belt a little.
@@62dobie I appreciate it I'm looking at fto industries website now I'm heavily thinking about it
@@settlesmachiningtools8671, it's not hard to do. If it's something that fits you, you can do it. It mostly depends on the pants you're wearing.
Thanks for the truth bro! 😆 I'm a 6,2 guy at 265 lbs. 5 years ago I chimed in at 380lb! That said I still have a belly plus bad loose skin! I also carry a Sig p365 in a kydex holster. It's absolutely Hell pinching my skin but I suck it up! I'd rather be in pain to be unarmed! Anyway great points and video. Don't shoot your junk off and always stay locked and loaded!
Scott Hall congrats on the weight loss dude! I’m sure you know but there are a lot of options in terms of compression clothing for men that serve that very purpose of tidying things up and helping avoid the pinch. Keep up the strong work and thanks for watching!
I'm about the same, I have a p365 in a leather holster with a tongue flap that rides up to the back of the slide. I carry it 3 o clock just under my love handle and it disappears. Super comfy all day. I dont understand the push for appendix carry as a chunky guy. just carry whats comfortable and find the right gun/holster setup for you. I hate guys that are like "i have to carry a full size sig" or whatever. It aint about getting into an engagement firefight, it's about self defense.
Thanks for sharing.
Being a larger stature fellow I need to try different places to carry.
Lately carry IWB about 2oclock. Will try appendix with your guidelines.
I just got a edc belt that material from kore it’s was $75 but it’s amazing I love it.
Man the day I accidentally tucked my shirt into my underwear in a rush in the morning changed my life! Shirt never comes untucked anymore and like you said stays more tidy. Don’t knock it til you try it
Never even thought about doing that, the back of my undershirt always comes untucked by about midday. Will definitely give it a shot next time I go out
I have to agree with you on the firearm you carry; I also carry the CZ 75 P-01 (or 07, not sure I don't have it here with me) 9mm. CZ is a very well made firearm, sites are good, loading one in the chamber or removing the last round isn't too hard nor too easy to me at least. It's a little heavier than my Glock 19 because it is all metal, but I actually like the weight since, for me, it provides better stability). Right now I've got a WTP holster all 3 of my firearms but I'm looking into a different holster as at times it just doesn't feel as comfortable as I'd like so thanks for the information. I'll keep looking before I decide. I wear enough loose clothing that I'm looking into OWB carry. I'm getting a little older and have a bit of overlap now which sucks, after 7 back surgeries but hey, life catches up doesn't it. I hate it but what can we do but deal with it.
I agree regarding the sidecar. Consider the extra bulk just to keep you spare mag in the same rig. Your new setup allows you to carry the spare mag anywhere you want. I don't carry appendix, but I would consider it with the P07, I've been kicking that idea around in my head for a while now. I have a P10s that I rotate with my PDP and FN 509, but I carry them at 3:00. I'll be honest though, I just don't like the idea of that muzzle pointed at the jewels or my femoral artery.
the dog pulled up, like "what the hell are you doing"??
His dog was looking like "Dad, what you got for me to eat?!?!?" "Oh, nothing...ok bye!"
Funny how we call our most valuable possession our "junk" lol
@@mrwashur1991 I will follow your lead my good sir. Value pouches out for Harambe.
Only those who appendix carry call it their junk because clearly they don't give a shit about their junk when they place a loaded gun with the safety off directly pointed directly at their pecker. The rest of us who choose to carry in literally every other position refer to it as the family jewels. I'm starting to think that appendix carry people secretly wanna be a women cause all it takes is one negligent discharge with a round in the chamber and the safety off like an idiot. By the way anyone who carries a glock fuck you. You assholes don't even understand how many other guns exist that are a million times better. Being excited about a glock is like being excited about driving a honda civic.
@@vitalityfox i like to carry 2 revolvers. On my back. Like john MCmacdaddy from diehard. But when i need deep concealment i carry a judge up my asshole.
Love the NeoMag. The holster looks really comfortable.
Great explanation of these two options, personally I’m not a side-car fan. Just to darn bulky. I run a Vedder holster w/wing, works great for me.
About these iwb holsters, are you allowed to sit with these holsters? I imagine people will be sitting for a good portion of the day.
Sure. Like he said, experiment. With the right setup you can sit pretty comfortably.
dj lu Yes, there’s a whole segment of the video dedicated to sitting down with this type of holster
It was a helpful video-granted. The dog however.......the dog got you the like. : )
LOL, I'm restored in hope. Thanks for making this video for those of us who are plump at the waist.
Interested in this. I'm not fat, I'm pretty well muscled from 15 years of heavy weight lifting and so far appendix carry has been impossible because of the physical pain it caused, and utter lack of concealment. I'm starting this video hoping to get some answers.
So I just got my first holster and didn’t think I could carry appendix because I’m a super fatty but ironically it’s the only way I don’t print. Weird.
@@bobsmith-ji2uh I still have not been able to make it work. I will have to try with a smaller gun.
@@letsgobrandon416from the videos I’ve been watching it seems like people go through quite a few before they find what works for them. Good luck.

great video! thanks for putting that together
Thank you for making this video bro. Very informative.
I'm kinda a big guy and I just can't carry appendix. I have to use at 3 o'clock all the time. Maybe 4 o'clock sometimes
Ditto. Sometime 2:30, particularly in car. I adjust my T-shirt to free it from seatbelt, gun stays both hidden and accessible while driving. Always practice single hand draw as hands are always occupied.
Why do youtubers never demonstrate single handed draw from concealment? Will never be as fast as from uncovered OWB, but needing both hands to make obvious grab seems excessive.
@@finngamesknudson1457 exactly. I've gotten pulled over a few time's and I tell the cop that I have a hand gun and it's at my 4 o'clock and please trust me I will not go for it cause by the time I do if I was going to they get me first and then they laugh and say ok thanks for letting us know and do you have a permit to carry or is it open, so I say both then they just let me be and go on with the stop very easy here where we are. As a fat guy. I can confirm.
Just saw this, good info. Been using Blue Alpha belts for some time, great belts. Use a Vedder Lite Tuck holster for a P365XL but carry a P365. Also use a wedge to make the package print less and more comfortable. I also found wearing the rig slightly off center aligned with crease works best when sitting. Great video. All good points.
dam... I will never be able to conceal carry. xD
If I can you can. 6"4 320 pounds lol. Got plenty of "gut" try anywhere from the 3:30 position to the 5:30 position or vice versa if your left handed.
idk how anyone carries like that. i cant even bend over to put my shoes on with it there or sit...doesnt look like you can sit with it there either man lol. not a fat joke just uhh i mean the guns pressing on your stomach idk how you sit
Yota_Blaster how? I carry a gun all day everyday everywhere. I dont wear shoes in my house i take them off in the hall Before i go in amd put them back on when im leaving the house. Plus i have to sit in my truck or on the couch to watch tv😂 bending and sitting in anyway i dont see how anyone does it
john russo I have a whole segment in this video for sitting. It’s easy if you have the right belt and utilize the information provided. I have a desk job and carry all day everyday
I have problems with my belt and pants cutting into my waste while I'm driving and I am not even carrying.
Thanks for the video! I always carry my G19 with a TLR7 on my 3 o’clock. But when carrying appendix I conceal the P07. My issue is that 1- it has the threaded barrel for suppressor and 2- TLR1. Meaning that it goes deeper into my stuff specially when sitting down. Once again, awesome video.
I have a Sig P365, and a Remora IWB holster. I carry it a lot deeper than a clip-on, which makes it slightly harder to draw, but it very seldom prints from under my t-shirt, or polo shirt.
I'm new to ccl your video gave me some good starting points thank you
Great video. You hit the nail on the head with every point. I’m not fat but have a little gut from being muscular and because of injury not working out anymore. It sucks but that’s for another video. Anyway keep up the good work and I’m subscribing.

Thanks YB. Great job. Good info.
you should try tier1 concealed and dry fire from concealed more it will make you more comfortable carrying a striker-fired or take a ccw course from like modern samurai project he gives amazing tips! Love the content and I have both of those same CZ's and I absolutely love them!
Great video. nice to see alternatives
haha glad I’m not the only guy with dun-laps. Thanks for doing a common sense video... if you don’t think all this through, you’ll wind up not carrying! I’m always about comfort. Also want options, don’t see much on ankle holsters, but I’d recommend adding that to your options list.
Great - thanks for a brutally honest video, great information honest opinions.. Carry On...
Re belts. I had an Amish harness maker make my belt like 8 years ago. Use the belt every day and it still looks new, isn't warped or bent or anything like that. My belly is bigger than my waist so I use a load strap from the OWB holster over my right shoulder and down to my left side where I carry extra magazine.
I had a mishap carrying iwb at 5 o’clock, never figured out what went wrong. Switched to a sa/da after that. I’d like to get away from carrying in that position but I have a gut. Appendix carry has been uncomfortable but will give this a try. I have added problem of living in AZ so it’s usually shorts and tshirt for me.
Finally an AIWB video that addresses sitting and standing! It’s like most guys leave out the part about adjusting before/after sitting/ standing which made me think I was doing something wrong! Thanks for this video, best appendix carry I’ve found!
right on ! just saw this a few minutes ago, he gets right to the jest of the appex carry from his experience doing it, I thought He did a awesome job too !
Good video on the access of the platform for bigger guys. However, I prefer strong side for reason while sitting, ie. at a table, that table top could interfere your access esp. on the draw as that table top is closer for us heavier guys. You must have clearance. Not a drawback, but must be aware of that frontal contact that must be cleared on your upward movement on the draw.
