      @@filipmoravec3685 It’s the best all arounder I’ve ever picked up. I say that regardless of budget. I’ve shot and handled a lot of shotguns and did a deep dive into who’s making what etc. Fit and finish is nicer than the Winchester SX4, Franchi’s feel cheap (I’ve seen a few around the 5 year mark with most of the camo finish gone), Retays are overpriced considering it’s just another Turkish made shotgun (not that they’re bad but the Weatherby and many others are also Turkish and 1/3 the price). Once you get into the upper end of the budget, I still think it edges out the competition. I don’t care how many commercials they run, I’ve seen more Benellis break or malfunction than any other manufacturer. Browning is not the company it once was same as Remington so unless you’re gonna buy one pre 1995 you’re not getting your money’s worth (with the exception of the Citori). Beretta is about the only “high end” shotgun that I can’t complain about other than their gas system overcomplicates something that you should be able to field strip in the dark. The CZ is right there with Weatherby and about the only thing I haven’t shot is the Savage. Weatherby is making some of the most underrated shotguns on the market which is fine by me because I’ll buy them up cheap every chance I get. However, it’s surprising since the MeatEater guys have been running them for years. I would have thought that would have sparked more popularity.

      @@filipmoravec3685 can confirm. I limited on doves with it a few times last year (video on my channel) and I’ve shot 2 nice Turkeys with it. Not sure how familiar you are with patterning guns but the Element with the factory mod is a perfect 50/50 spread. Meaning within the pattern 50% is in the top half of the pattern and 50 in the bottom. Benelli’s are often 70/30 which is why you’ll hear guys talk about “floating the bird” essentially hovering the bead low or underneath their target. I can’t stand that. Run that mod choke for everything on the wing then get you a Carlsons full once you get the hang of it. Factory full with Winchester long beard XR and you can drop turkeys out to 70 yards. Idc what anyone says if you’re shooting doves outside of 20 yards, Federal steel dove loads are more effective than lead. Tighter and faster

      @@wildwolf8983 “Allegedly”, the optic and mounting plates can “settle” during the first few mags. I asked a couple gunsmiths about it since I had a weird shift during sight in. They both confirmed that it’s relatively normal and recommended double checking torque spec at 100,200, and 300 rounds. From there it should be good. I can’t confirm or deny the accuracy of this statement but I’ve had zero impact shift since then and everything seems to be holding up great.

The mechanics are not so grossly different that it justifies the inherent risk of holstering and unholstering the firearm in that position while chambered. I also train non dominant and dominant hand only but in a defensive situation that’s not going to be my “go to” yet this has not stifled my ability to run the weapon with a standard 2 handed grip. The idea that you have to train with your carry holster at all times is a ridiculous misnomer with no supporting data.

    why not zero from a hard surface like a sand bag or a table? this will make results much more consistent

    • @yota_blaster5030
      @yota_blaster5030 2 місяці тому

      @@VRponch I go over that in the video, it felt unnatural and I’m more accurate offhand. On a half dollar sized target within 15 yards, I can typically tell if I pulled a shot. That and these red dots aren’t 1/4 or 1/8 moa adjustable like a scope so you’re only gonna get so much out of it. If I can hit a quarter at 7 yards, that’s sufficient for me.

    • @VRponch
      @VRponch 2 місяці тому

      @yota_blaster5030 I dont know man. When zeroing your accuracy isn't relevant. You need a stable platform to adjust the sight not to test your accuracy, the gun needs to shoot where the dot is not on a stable surface you are just adding more variables to the mix Lots of usually, typicaly, feels. Not very scientific I'd just stick with factory zero if it goes like that. But hey if it works for you

    • @yota_blaster5030
      @yota_blaster5030 2 місяці тому

      @@VRponch the only way to 100% take human error out of the equation would be to put it in a vice. Aside from that, my accuracy is diminished by shooting from a bench. So I’m taking the bench out of the equation to eliminate as much human error as possible. Let’s say hypothetically we take 2 perfectly zeroed guns, one guy shoots from a bench but I shoot offhand. If his trigger press is bad or his grip isn’t the best etc. those things could affect his accuracy and provide inaccurate results. Then I shoot offhand and maybe I’m not dead center on every shot but I yield better results, is the bench still an advantage? It didn’t yield better results for that person so if something affects your accuracy, take it out of the equation regardless of what it does for someone else. If the dot is on the x, my impact is on the x, and it’s repeatable, that’s effective.

    • @VRponch

      @yota_blaster5030 but your accuracy isnt a factor in zeroing...

    • @VRponch
      @VRponch Місяць тому

      @yota_blaster5030 again I'm no expert but we would zero rifles while prone to minimize sway because it would effect accuracy and the zero. You wouldn't know if the shot wasn't on point because of the sight setting or some movement while you pulled the trigger. A vice is perfect but a bench would minimize those micro movements. It isnt there to help with your accuracy just to minimize the movment.
