Alway's loved this old flix, solid actor's & Jim Croce's epic "I got a name" was a brilliant touch 💪 Some serious historical intertwining going on in it as well, such as Richard Petty's iconic STP 43 car being used as "The Villain" car on the track, when in real life both Richard & the car are universally beloved, hell Mr The King is a Icon & a Legend all over the world, but South of the Mason-Dixon line he's a God, both in 73 & in today's world as well! So strange choice there with that. Then further more, JC's " I got a name" was not only the song used in the movie, but TBS showed a collage of antiqued racing pic's & played that song going off air after The King's only son, Kyle Petty, won his first NASCAR race in 1985! The last piece of irony is of course, the sad fact that JC's fatal plane crash happened in Sept of 73, just about 2 month's after the movie debuted at my local drive-in theater. What a tragic loss that was for all who love great music. RIP JC & The Great Junior Johnson too 🙏

Awesome movie, great writing and acting. Gary Busey is normally more entertaining but he played a more conservative role as opposed to the wacky charismatic character he usually puts out. Jeff Bridges did an excellent job as well, he struggled with the North Carolina accent some, he sounded more like Amarillo, Texas than Hickory, NC. All car enthusiasts need to watch this, what a classic!
