Love those old cars. Good movie. I was excited to watch this cause my daddy run moonshine for his cousin. The police chased him all over the eastern states. When they finally caught up with him they beat him within an inch of his life. So he drove to California and enlisted in the USAF and did 2 tours to Vietnam and retired from the USAF after 29 years.
Moonshine running was the roots of NASCAR with the shine runners modifying their car's to outrun the cops and then transferring their skills to racing, this is a good movie that I'd never heard of before so thanks for making it available to the people.

My grandpa made moonshine durning the Great Depression to support his family of eleven children. He didn’t drink it. Once the G- men came after him. And he ran them off. He was a huge man and strong as a ox. He was about 6ft 5 inches and about 275+ lbs.
No runners are gonna crash thru a Federal roadblock and 1- Tear their car all to heck that they spent a lot of money building, 2- Push their luck by busting thru a Federal roadblock. They do everything to avoid a federal Roadblock. They would go a different route, wait till the feds go home, or just wait a few weeks till they give up and go home. It just makes the moon more valuable after a short dry spell. Some customers would drive to them, if they were friends. It makes a more exciting movie, but it's far from reality
@@tombecker8226 Yep, lots of experts as to the mental attitude of moonshiners running the roads 70 years ago. Is this part of the school curriculum down there, Tom? Proud of it?
Im impressed, they didn't explode the cars after they wrecked, too many do to awe moviegoers. This and to a great extent still is Tennessee today, we haven't had a sheriff that wasn't corrupt in my county in about 50 years. but when they're hometown grown that's the way it is, they either grew up with or are related to.
Just watched Little Fauss and Big Halsey.. I was a kid in the 7th grade with my own dirt bike now I'm an old man on quad but anyway just stumbled on this & liking it
When I was a kid my parents and I went to Dorsey Speedway to watch stock car raceing . Mid 50's . Those cars ran straight pipes , SO LOUD ,so fast , so much fun .😊😊
My Grandfather Ran A Little Moonshine in Montana During The Depression. His Parents Owned a General Store, They Made it Through That Era OK, and Because My Grandfather Worked for The Store He Was Able to Get His Driver's license @ Age 13 1/2. He Bought His Own Used car. Then Had A New Military Surplus V-12 Engine put in By The Town Mechanic / Blacksmith. Him and My Grandmother Went Back in The Early 90's He Wanted to See if Either if The Store Was Still standing, or if He Could Figure out Where it was. The Town Was Up To One Traffic Light. @ That Time.

The actor playing the sheriff was spot on. A great movie! The cigarette thing was overdone like it is on a lot of movies. Even a chain smoker will drink a Coca Cola sometimes or a glass of iced tea. It got nerve wracking with them constantly lighting a cigarette.

Agree
Nothing compares to the sound of those V8 big blocks tearing up the road.

Cheers. I totaly enjoyed that. Loved the 50s cars. Awesome.
This was a good movie. I really enjoyed it. Fast cars and a storyline behind it makes for a good movie in my book.
