Wow, Convoy 1978, I was 12. I saw this with my family at the drive-in. Don't recall which one, probably the Northstar on 84th ave and I-25. In the backseat of a Ford, was called Country Squire (???), station wagon. We talked like truckers when we rode our bikes all that summer. I received a CB boardgame for Christmas later that year. The game cards were in the shape of CB mics. I didn't drive truck for a living but drove a van delivering office supplies. Keep on truckin'✌️
I've watched this a handful of times since Kris passed away, and many more times in years passed. This movie is the perfect blend of resisting authority, sensory stimulation & ASMR, and feel-good. All of it blends together and strikes the senses. It's a simple story, but it's great. High-nose cinephiles may pan it, but they just don't get it. Watching the Duck take off alone, the chime from the music when the dash lights brighten his face, then his supporters showing up to take on the sheriff with him... Stuff nobody does today, with all the in-fighting, the larger problems never get resolved. Society could learn from this movie. RIP Peckinpah, Madge Sinclair, Ernest Borgnine, Burt Young, and Kris Kristofferson and anyone else involved in this magnificent production. "He's using the truckers as a red carpet, to the white house!" "They're selling tickets, the bums." "We're on our own." "Tell it like it is, Pig Pen."

This was a lot more substantive than I expected. I expected more of a _Smokey and the Bandit_ sort of romp. I didn't think they could pull off an ending, but they did. Also, I really couldn't believe Ernest Borgnine could play a villain, but brother, he really did.
Great movie about comradery and inclusion of a group of people who live relatively independent lives. Saw this when I was child and it spoke to me about humanity and entertaining at the same time. Not the full movie. Some scenes missing. Cinematography is also nicely done with great editing.
It should be against the law to change the name of this or another classic movie like this .I consider it sacrilege to change the name of an icon of a movie like this . And a slap in the face to all truckers like me now retired and collecting my rocking chair money .
