Dear Ian, Sir, Thank You! for your video...Perfect! Today, I was thinking about my Polar Lights "Spindrift" made many years. Same, kit. Now made by Doll & Hobby. Still need to buy this "new" kit re-lease. Thanks Again Ian! For the open box review. Matthew S. Holder (i.e creaturman as well as a fellow modeler) P.s. Me to Ian, build this kit in 70's by Aurora part of Sci-Fi series.
I had the original issue kit when I was a kid. I'm glad they have reissued. Disappointed they did not correct the model to include six passenger cabin chairs like the TV Spindrift had.
I'm happy it's accurate to the original aurora but it would have been great to get an alternative version to make it more screen accurate if you wanted to
I had to turn the sound off after a minute because there is an annoying tune playing in the background. It's not even that loud but it had me gritting my teeth. otherwise a well presented video, just a shame I couldn't listen to what you were saying.
YES!!! I loved this old show and this ship! Bravo on the model!
Great old show
Always wanted this, since seeing the ad on the back of my Batman comics back in the 60's. Think now's the time to finally nab one
Grab them while you can :)

Thanks Matthew, I'm happy the review was helpful to you. I wish I could afford an Aurora original but these rereleases are a great alternative
This kit is what inspired me to make a correct Spindrift accurate to the filming prop miniature. Glad that STL is done.
What scale did you use the same as the filming miniature?
@@imarmodels they were around 6 inches tall so the model would need to be 1/12 scale.
Oh, did you really need to ask? OF COURSE we want to see a 'making of' video. Very much looking forward to it, in fact!
Good job I'm videoing it then :) just been masking the trim lines :)
Another great review. Love land of the giants. The model looks excellent & can't wait to see it finished.
Thanks, just spent the morning drilling out all the engine and vent holes :)

Looks good! Thanks for sharing. Doll & Hobby GA is my company.
Then I salute you Sir for an astonishingly good release :)
@@imarmodels Thanks. We are trying to put a lot of love into these reissues. Hunchback is next...
It's too small. The model needs to be 18" at smallest and about 24" for a medium size and 36" for a deluxe!
I quite like the old Aurora scales as they fit well in a display cabinet but a big version would be awsome

It's difficult as with the music I get complaints and without the music I get complaints. Perhaps I'll change the tune see if that works?
I love the little tune in the background, It really adds something to the relaxed presentation. Please don't change it 🙂
dude speak up !
Pardon?
