I know LOT'S of people that work more blue collar jobs and have Raptors and other such trucks. Pricing is a function of the entire vehicle industry. Ford, like all manufacturers, need to make high margin on these types of vehicles in order to offset the losses on their less popular vehicles. That's how all industries work. Plus, the new Ranger cost billions (yes, with a B) to develop and get to production so they have to make up that cost plus profit somehow. 🙂

    I hear people complaining about styling, and they're right, but know that styling like everything we like and own is subjective in the first place. What you don't like, does not affect someone else's decision. What you like, someone else doesn't. On the other hand, the market is open and wide, you can as well move over to other brands. Styling is indeed subjective.

    • @fredmoss4540
      @fredmoss4540 Рік тому

      @Raul Gallardo Why not talk about?
      The auto press/media said many years ago that Ridgeline would be influential.
      Others would be copying off it.
      The Dual Action Tailgate of 1st Gen Ridgeline. That brought about pickup truck tailgate wars. The Ridgeline used old station wagon tailgate swing drop.
      Ram with it's Barn Door style. Others with adjustable and tricks in them.
      The Ridgeline in-bed trunk Ford and other EV Pickup Truck have Frumps for storage. Hyundai Santa Cruz little in-bed storage. GM little tailgate storage.
      Maverick and Santa Cruz Unibody pickup trucks. They are all flocking to that Maverick. Probably a lot that criticized the Ridgeline. The lay-flat bed that can hold those 4×8 sheets if plywood or drywall flat. This is in the midsized truck segment with plywood.
      The speakers in the truck bed walls of Ridgeline RTL-E and Black Edition trims.
      Toyota or somebody. got a removal Bluetooth speaker. Kicked was doing something for another pickup truck.

    • @fredmoss4540
      @fredmoss4540 Рік тому

      @Raul Gallardo Motor Trend, Car and Driver others always talk about. TFL just said it didn't get enough Love.
      Like I said Ranger can now fit 4×8 sheets of plywood in it's bed flat. It's wonderful buyers say. Ridgeline had a TV commercial doing that some years ago.
      Lay-flat bed. Al's showing how 5 average size passengers can actually fit into Ridgeline cabin.

      For the price to become a sales leader in the premium pickup truck market this vehicle has more than a few minor issues (can't integrate the exhaust into the bumper? Deal killer for just that alone) that add up to again at this price point anyways a *"not sold"* still for me. Winner: Ford F150 and Ford Maverick still.
      Still huge fan if twin turbos and looking forward to see how those work out in the real World of daily driving.
      North America sales of Anything Volkswagen makes me question if the Brand will even survive given their wholehearted embrace of pure BEV and having to compete against Tesla which still wholly and totally owns that market, 2023. Great news for buyers (finally) as crazy price offerings for otherwise not very practical vehicles seem to be finally dissipating. "Driving up the value train" I think is the technical term as Hyundai-Kia has been doing going on forever now.

Their so much better all the way around and again, point being, why is it one step forward, then two steps back while the cost seem to only go in one direction, which is UP !

    Also about the price you have to consider that is says starting price but all the extras are already included in this price for the Ranger Raptor. It is the best valued high performance vehicle on the market. It is incomparable to its "competition". If you have 49,000 to spare for a truck, then you most likely have 56,000 available too. Americans are so excited about the 2023 Ranger Raptor, they will be so dissapointed, I had one and it didnt last a more than a month, suspension is harsh compared to the F150 Raptor, even last gen Ranger Raptor was much better in that regard, so comfy. build quality is subpar, interior noises here and there, last Ranger Raptor with 100,000Km not a single creak or rattle, engine noise is so overrated too, a N55 bmw engine is a much better sounding engine. The sweet spot in the torque curve is way to high, feels slow when driving arround town. I have a Gen2 F150 Raptor and first Gen Ranger Raptor and I hated this thing. .Interior looks good, but no fully upholtered dash and no fancy pedals like the others, leaves something to be desired
