Nixian Channel Description:
We’re lifelong video game enthusiasts with a passion for showing the world how our favorite hobby has grown with us, from individual series to industry-wide retrospectives.
We put significant time and creative effort into each one of our videos, including research, digging into archives, recording voiceovers, and editing. Every video takes as many as 10 hours to produce, because we strive to give our fans consistent, high-quality content.
Our popular “Evolution of...” series goes far beyond simply presenting gameplay footage. We take the time to show how a video game property - its gameplay, character designs, graphics, sound direction, etc. - have evolved over time. We include unique voiceover work on each video to enhance the viewing experience.
People have been playing video games for decades. In that time, we’ve gone from moving a white line up and down to block a moving pixel, to participating in full-fledged, painstakingly rendered real-time battles with people all over the world. We help older gamers look back on how these experiences have changed throughout their lives, and new gamers to understand the broader context of the series they’re playing for the first time today.
The video game medium never stops growing, and we’ll never stop chronicling its evolution.
Editing and voice-over were made by me. - Ігри
Great video! Reminded me that PlayStation All-Stars is almost 10 years old at this point.
Really hope we see a sequel someday!
I didn’t know there were this many in the genre! That’s pretty cool! I’m here after Multiversus release and it’s really fun 😊
theres actually a bit more than this
Love it! Thanks for bringing the nostalgia back 😁
0:04 it has never been confirmed if this game is the inspiration for the original Smash Bros
Dude when I was a kid a managed to unlock all characters in Battlestadium DON without knowing japanese or even having internet access, this is still one of the most impressive things i've made in my life and i was just a kid
Slap City and Rushdown Revolt are worthy mentions as well
I always feel that brawlout is underrated. I think the lack of updates and characters is the main problem of this game.
Brawl was also the first smash game with 3rd party characters
Nice one, Subscribed. Please keep'em comin...
This review was perfect and concise thank you!
AWESOME BRO🔥🔥
I bet lot of you people also didn't know that Pokemon did NOT create the monster collecting/taming game genre (no, Shin Megami Tensei didn't do either).
Lots of love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩
Nice bro,love with your content😵
Same
You forgot to add Super Smash Bros. Crusade and Super Smash Land.
9:32 not the only one, brawlhalla is also free to play
Video feels like it was made with an algorithm.
"The most mechanically challenging" please, don't make Ultimate players feel good about themselves, that's just a lie
Hes only wrong on adding the fan games as official work
Not the most challenging one, but at least the most balanced one
@@andresmiltongutierrezorteg2764 Rivals is significantly more balanced
@@KirbCakesEvie I was talking about inside the smash bros franchise, i'll have to play the other games to compare the balance
@@andresmiltongutierrezorteg2764 brawlhalla...
Seeing them lean on the super shaggy meme
Bro fighting games are so cool... I wish I had Smash Bros! Melee, Brawl, Ultimate, sounds so much fun....
I've always wanted to play those games... They look so fun with friends..
It's weird how Brawlhalla doesn't get much attention when it has 100 million players with 20million monthly players (crossplay). Insanely good tournament entries online and LAN, massive prize pools, consistent developer support, extremely active community. It's not nearly as recognized as Smash (it does not have the massive legacy or storied history of it), but it deserves some praise imo. It's different from Smash in basically every way but the genre. People are very quick to discount it without giving it a serious try and how good high level competitive play is. Also one of the most balanced fighting games ever.
Great video. It checked all of my boxes: from the outfoxies to all of the smash bros to brawlhalla, NASB, and Multiversus. The only game I saw missing was a Japanese game called dream mix t v world
Pay attention to the thumbnail there’s a mistake super smash bros 64 did not come out in 1995
This video is too incomplete.
Yay, im the 1st one!
Luigi: "Luigi number one!"
I love this kind of content more video like this
Super smash flash is a total classic..
Cool video, but there's some missing entries
-Slap City
-Super Smash Bros. Crusade
-Kirby Fighters 1
-Rivals 2
-Newgrounds Rumble
-DreamMix TV World Fighters
Rivals 2 will come out in 2024 lol. Its still heavily in development.
I’m really interested in Fraymakers
“… the actual inspiration of Smash Brothers…”
That doesn’t sit right with me, look I will say that Outfoxies be the first of the Platform Fighters, but claiming as the inspiration without proof from Sakurai himself really grinds my gears.
It’s like saying Fatal Fury was made because of Street Fighter 2, but in reality Fatal Fury was actually made by part of the dev team involved in the Original Street Fighter 1.
And Fatal Fury was done in the same year as SF2 as well. It is incredibly hard to make a remotely decent work inspired by someone else in the same year.
On Outfoxies, I agree entirely. It isn't a totally unknown game with a no-name publisher but at best, it seems to be the earliest platform fighter that we know and to have a bit of recognition from Suda51.
i like platform games
Oh my god I love fighting games😂What a history lesson
"actual inspiration of Smash Bros"
Yeah no that sounds like hogwash. Pretty certain that KOF holds that honor
mind explaining why? im actually quite interested
@@sonic-bbSakurai explained from his experience with the Arcade VS play of King of Fighters against a guy who was only having fun made Sakurai realized how traditional Fighters are much harder to get into for new players which is what inspired him to create Smash Bros. meaning this video is pulling their ass out with no tangible facts.
Viewtiful Joe red hot rumble.
Super smash bros ultimate meets multiversus
My favorite genres of games
I love how neglected Brawlout and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl are in this video. Not only does the narrator completely ignore their existence, but Brawlout's chapter name is incorrect and NASB doesn't have a chapter at all.
Also, there are so many other platform fighting games that were omitted from this list, I guess Rushdown Revolt, Indie Pogo, Guilty Gear: Dust Strikers, Duck Game, Towerfall, Shovel Knight Showdown, Stick Fight: The Game, and Flash Party just don't exist then.
Honestly, this whole entire video needs a complete remake
why'd you just leave brawlout and NASB hanging like that lol
also missing rivals 2
CAUSE NASB is shit and there nothing to say about it ... it's pretty clear no ??? 9 pêople online right now do u think the game is good??? no it sucks
Brawlout is doodoo and their shit roster with 3 clones of the same character multiple times. Also their awful unlock system made it where characters couldn't be unlocked because their dumbass point system for unlocking characters.
What about Digimon rumble arena 1 and Kirby Fighters 1?
I love Brawlhalla
slap city???
Evolution of survival games plz
but some of the characters from naughty dog and some of them by insominiac games and other characters by other studios for play station all stars battle royale
Missing a few but you got the big ones... And oddly added Smash Flash.
and oddly added project M
They didn't "Oddly add" Smash Flash; it's still a platform fighting game despite being a fan game
@@sonic-bb They didn't "Oddly add" Project M; it's still a platform fighting game despite being a fan game
R.I.P Super Smash Bros Crusade :(
Who told you that PlayStation all stars battle royale was going to be created by naughty dogs studios
lol why did Brawlout got the silece treatment?
i have saw this video ONLY for ssj shaggy at the end
What about the Kirby Fighters franchise?
No mention of slap city, icons, rushdown revolt, smash crusade, flash party, or the gb smash demake Dan made before rivals?
Kinda cringe bro
Also, u should've at LEAST made a offhand comment about the party/non-trad plat fighters like duck game
You forgot the Neon Genesis Evangelion, Full Metal Alchemist, and Zatch Bell games
Nickelodeon All Star Brawl 2 (2023)
Rivals 2 (2024)
Let me introduce: super fighters (flash game)
Fraymakers is already launched 😅
Nice
hey you forgot a game its called dreamix tv world fighters look up
Did you miss super smash bros. crusade
Brawlhalla crying lefted behind
forgot slap city
Theres a mod of first game of Super smash bros 64 the mod named Super smash bros Remix
👍👏
How dare you to not include SSB Crusade
Evolutión the simpson game (1989-2022)
Missing slap city
Me about to say Joy Mech Fight should have been first:
it's weird that he has different opinion in every game except nick all star brawl
and brawlout
وحش
Gwtting over it? Buying it;-;
We have nickelodeon all syars brawl
we have multiversus
whats next cartoon network melee
A Cartoon Network smashlike already existed, and there's no need for a sequel since Warner is making MultiVersus and they own Cartoon Network, with CN characters there.
Where is smash for the 3ds
5:43 I think he meant fortnite.
Or should fortnite be in 2nd place?
sonic the fighters
That's just a traditional fighting game
Where is gnomz?
Where shrek?
You pay for killing Kirby captain falcom
You forgot mcyt brawl
Xbox all stars battle royale 2023
And smash remix??????
This is such a weird script and video essay… No explanation on each game rather than some loose facts, skipped over melee, Brawlout didn’t receive any narration over it. Huh?
For the people still saying they ripped off Smash Bros., it's called a genre, you can't own a genre, it's just like all those FPS games, all of them took from Wolfenstein 3D and Doom.
Imagine if id Software patented FPS games after releasing Doom in 1993? We wouldn't have Duke Nukem 3D, GoldenEye, Half-Life, Unreal, Halo, Call of Duty, Battlefield, Bioshock...
Imagine if Chuck Berry patented Rock and Roll? We wouldn't have Elvis, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Queen, Deep Purple...
Duke Nukem 3D is a Doom clone. A lot of games were called “Doom Clones” because they were. It died down when games like Turok, Goldeneye, Unreal and Half Life came out because they started differentiate from Doom drastically.
absolutely agreed. ive been in so many arguments with people hating on multiversus cause they all act like smash should hold exclusive rights to the genre. so stupid.
if that were the case, we shouldnt have any fighting games at all. since they all "copied" street fighter 2. or any platformers or 3d platformers.
or no beat em' up games whatsoever
Your information about Smash Bros N64 is an a partial lie.
Sakurai any HAL made a platform fighting game with placeholder graphics that looked like actual people fighting each other. They looked nothing like Pepsiman and were never referenced as such. Allegedly the outfoxes was an inspiration. The later prototype he did show to Nintendo had fox, Mario, DK and Samus as characters. Allegedly he did not seek permission from Nintendo he just showed up with them in the prototype. Eventually Nintendo agreed and the game was made.
The game was made in the typical and proper way. A prototype was made, to show off the game play without any theme or aesthetics. All that was added in mater once the core idea/gameplay for the game was perfected.
Wait you mean to tell me that they didn’t rip off smash brothers?
One question why did you say anything
so much misinformation in this vid holy shit
First!
What
? 【promosm】
the flash games don't count
Yes they do
@@michaellee4463 oh my bad
