- With the success of Multiversus, I feel like Disney should throw their hat in the ring and make their own platform fighting game! So, here is my pitch for a DISNEY Platform Fighter! Enjoy!

Edit: I'm annoyed somewhat this is the top comment and not anything relating to the Disney discussion. Either way only part I disagreed with was having characters like Mickey only have one variation (Mario has himself and Dr. Mario, Link has 3 versions). I think Mickey is a character who could atleast get 2.

One more comment I wanted to make, I think the lack of cohesion in MultiVersus is actually a strength of the game. I mean, having Jason Voorhees, Batman, Bugs Bunny and Ultra Instinct Shaggy in the Game of Thrones throne room is the most insane thing, and I absolutely love it.
And with more time it’s going to be even more insane we literally have agent smith now pulling a dessert eagle on Tom and Jerry I couldn’t help but laugh the whole time

Funny thing is, they were close to making a fighting game with Square Enix. However, Disney said no, because they didn't want the Disney characters beating each other up. So Square Enix still took the concept but used their Final Fantasy characters. Thats how Final Fantasy Dissidia came to be.

Actually, the idea never made it to Disney, Square Enix decided on their own not to use Disney characters. It's also worth noting that Disney was at one point tossing around the idea of making a Smash Brothers clone with their characters, but it never materialized into anything substantial.

For the Pixar lamp, I think there could be a down attack move where the lamp repeatedly jumps on the enemies head, just like how it jumps on the I at the beginning of every movie
And a move to summon the pizza planet truck

This is a solid lineup, but I have some ideas for more. I’ll start with just 5.
Rapunzel: bit of a no brainer. She can use her hair like a whip like Simon and Richter, but also as a healing move to reduce knockback. A bit speedy but not floaty. (Stage would be the Tower or the Kingdom Castle)
Bill Cipher: now THIS is my favorite idea. He can distort reality, create weirdness bubbles that cause a random effect, shoot lasers. Anything’s possible with this guy. (Stage is the Fear-ramid from Weirdmaggedon).
Figment: I’ll be honest, I was a bit disappointed by the lack of theme park representation. He can be similar to Stitch in terms of being cartoony, but not over the top. Think SpongeBob in NASB. (Stage is Journey into Imagination. Like the ride)
Remy and Linguine: I know this breaks the rule of 1 per franchise, but the idea is solid. You could either do a Duck Hunt and have them work in tandem, or a Pyra/Mythra deal of swapping between them. Remy would control Linguine and be slow/strong, while Linguine alone would be fast/light. (Stage is Gusteau’s kitchen)
The Three Caballeros: Donald may not be in, but this is an obscure pick that works better. Basically Pokemon Trainer with varied stats. Panchito has better speed, Donald better attack, Jose Carioca is middle ground. (Stage would be based on Legends of the Three Caballeros. Solid show. Look it up for more lore)

Eh Disney Hero’s Battle Mode is ok. Hope Disney doesn’t go overboard by adding 200+ characters to a fighting game. Seriously I have enough trouble just leveling up some of the characters I already have in Battle Mode.
Would love a Gravity Falls rep in the form of Grunkle Stan. I love the idea of him just running around with brass knuckles constantly dropping forged passports and fake money. Some of his moves could call in Mable and Dipper to assist. Finally his super would be the reverse of the twist in the show and it’s revealed you were actually fighting Ford the whole time and now he’s blasting you with a laser gun.
Bill Cypher would be a very fun idea too, also it would be hilarious if there was a random chance where King from the Owl House would just pop up in some of Bill's attacks.
A gravity falls character would have a ton of potential too, someone like either gruncle Stan or Bill Cipher would be awesome

Or maybe have them play more like Ice Climbers where they're both out together doing the attacks at the same time? Also consider: rather than a Phineas KO also KO'ing Ferb (like killing Popo also kills Nana), you could make it to where one can stay alive but all the stats are nerfed (lower damage output, double knockback/launch distance, etc)

On the topic of Disney TV show additions, Bill Cipher could be a great pick. He could shoot lasers from his fingers for ranged attacks, grow really big and summon a bunch more arms, and summon bubbles of pure madness.

Y’know what’d be REALLY cool though, if Disney worked with Nick and made SpongeBob a DLC character, and in turn Mickey Mouse is DLC for All Star Brawl 2, that would be something.
I know Macro hasnt watched The Owl House, but Luz would be such an interesting character as DLC. Her glyphs would be so fun as a mage build, with her mabye becoming her Titan form later on in the match and becoming much more powerful, which would be a perfect final smash if they had that sort of thing. Also the amount of potential stages would be MASSIVE!

I totally agree with the “have the gameplay exactly like smash” take. The way smash’s smooth and quick gameplay feels and controls, blows all other platform fighters out of the water. (I do play smash and multiversus btw)

Also, I know this’d happen regardless, but I’d love to see some easter eggs/hidden details included.
I have a few examples… (bear with me)
Imagine a toggle-able Perry taunt where he puts his hat on or off. If Doof, Phineas, or Ferb were added, this would trigger unique voice lines like “There you are, Perry!” and “Perry the Platypus?!”
Buzz meeting another Buzz could mirror that whole imposter interaction from Toy Story.
When idle for a while, Mickey could whistle his steamboat tune.
They could include something minor, with no canonical ties. Imagine Jack shivering at the sight of Maleficent or Elastigirl praising Mulan.
I would do Buzz as a toy. IDK it’s just more iconic (plus I think it’s what Disney would do)
Throw Oswald the Lucky Rabbit in as the Disney answer to Mario's Luigi, Scrooge McDuck, who's the richest being in the Disney multiverse and a regular adventurer and brawler, and I'm fully set on this roster

You have the makings of a great game, but there are still a few criticisms I have:
1. With how many characters and franchises Disney has to offer, 16 characters and one character per franchise ain't gonna cut it. That's what PSASBR did and look how they turned out.
2. I can understand why you didn't include any Marvel or Star Wars characters, but given how big these franchises are and how much they have done for Disney, I feel like they should be in the base roster. That said though, when making a roster for this game myself, I decided to put a cap on both franchises: for Star Wars, I limited it to just 5 (Luke Skywalker, Yoda, Darth Vader, Boba Fett and either Rey in a realistic scenario or Ahsoka Tano for a preferred scenario) while I decided that the number of Marvel characters in this game must be equal to the amount of DC characters in MultiVersus.
I actually like your ideas of the roster. Seeing Maui, Mulan, Kim Possible, Mickey Mouse, AND DarkWing Duck makes SO MUCH sense to be in a fighting game by Disney.
Bill Cipher would be a great fighter, a mix of Kirby with the moveset and Greninja with his shadow move.
I think he would be better as a boss character. All the ways he can make the stage change effects and make it more dangerous while fighting him

Honestly I agree with you on the consistency angle, this is why I wish they just took another crack at Punchtime Explosion and added the more out there WB properties as DLC. It'd make it more like smash in the way where people would actually be surprised when characters like Jason gets in.
But yeah... if disney makes a platform fighter, I hope they don't try to do anything extravagant, just give us the love and care of smash bros but with disney characters and I'll be happy.
I hope so too. Unfortunately, it’s Disney, and that’s pretty unlikely. Still, Disney isn’t as strict as Nintendo, at least not in the video game department, so there’s still a chance.
I like the roster you made. I'd personally swap Jake out for Aladdin though. Avatar is a big franchise but i don't think it rings disney enough for me, I personally want more 2D animated characters, and out of the ones left I think Aladdin would fight well
either Aladdin or the Genie. Or maybe incorporate the Genie Lamp into Al's moveset?
Imagine a Scrooge McDuck character played like a swordsman with his cane. The Money Bin would also be a very cool stage, and him diving into it as part of his "Final Smash" if there is such a thing, would he awesome.

If Disney ever did a platform fighter, the most accurate roster would by Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, goofy, Mulan, Moana, Rapunzel, Elsa, Hercules, beast, Peter Pan, maleficent, Jafar, Ursula, the genie, fairy godmother, Sulley, and buzz Lightyear as a upscale toy. While characters like stitch and Oswald will either be DLC or some type of collectible, likes stickers or trophies.

I think a character that would be cool is Mike and Sulley. It could be like Pokemon Trainer with the switching. Sulley could be melee and Mike could be ranged(Mike could throw Boo's toys). Also Boo could be on the back of Sulley (IDK that would be cool).

I had a similar idea after seeing Nick and Warner making their games, except that I thought of only utilizing Disney Channel/Disney XD characters. In my idea, even past shows like Randy Cunningham, Ultimate Spider-Man and Kim Possible joined my roster. I even thought out everyone's complete move sets and "created" unique mechanics that no one had ever thought of yet. It was fun imagining the What-Ifs of anything 😅
EDIT: At the time of editing this comment, by roster had characters such as: Luz Noceda, Anne Boonchoy, Dipper and Mable Pines, Molly McGee and Scratch, TG A.K.A Me (If I ever join Disney, whatever lol,) Parry the Platypus, Randy Cunningham, Kim Possible, Stitch, Penn Zero, Scrooge McDuck, Phineas and Ferb, Star Butterfly, Cricket Green, and Ultimate Spider-Man (Or Marvel's Spider-Man depending on controversy.)

If there would be a Disney fighting game, you would have to include the FOX IP because you have characters like Peter Griffin, Bart Simpson, Deadpool, Wolverine, and a lot more to choose from. I would love to see Brian and Stewie dueling something like the Ice Climbers.

If Disney do make a platform fighter they are probably going to feature characters from Disney, Disney TVA, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm (Star Wars and Indiana Jones) and 20th Century. As well as some videogames (Kingdom Hearts, Disney Infinity, Disney Speedstorm, Epic Mickey and Dreamlight Valley). For Disney Infinity they could have all the fighters that are playable characters in Disney Infinity have a Disney Infinity themed costume, a Disney Infinity Toy Box stage and the Disney Infinity Wand as an item.

So, what I think would be an interesting idea for this Disney fighting game based from the Smash Bros. Franchise would be the rival battles during the arcade mode before you face the last stage boss.
This rival battles includes a cutscene two characters interacting with eachother before they Duke it out with one another like Mickey Mouse vs. Buzz Lightyear, Ralph vs. Maui, Darkwing Duck vs. Perry the Platypus, Maleficent vs. Elsa, the list goes on, as well as with the dlc characters if you know what I mean.
Basically, this is based from one of the other Smash bros. wannabes like Playstation All-Star Battle Royale.
Man it’s perfect. Not only it will have Disney characters but it’ll have Star Wars , marvel characters etc duking it out
Jack skellingtons stage should be boogies layer with the floor being the poker table always spinning and dice falling with snakes coming out of some and sandy claws being in the middle and being able to bounce off of him
If there will be DLC for that Judy Hopps would be the most requested character than anyone else for a Disney Platform Fighter due to her popularity
I have a friend who has the amazing idea of the genie being the announcer for the game, and i want it so baddd.
A great duo character like Pyra/Mythra would be Wall-E and EVE, with you being able to swap in and out between the characters. EVE would be a fast attacker with low damage, except for her final smash which is her laser. Wall-E would be a slower, heavier hitter with some of his attacks involving his cockroach and an attack like Yoshi’s egg where the opponent turns into a cube for a couple seconds.
Bill is my favourite antagonist ever but it would be hard to balance him out in a game like this

one of my favorite ideas to go with this is to make the game the spiritual successor to Disney Infinity, reuse the models and artstyle but not have it toys to life and have characters fall apart when they hit the edge of the stage. the roster and moveset potential for characters is already there they just gotta edit a bunch of stuff to work in 2.5D
Okay, I do really like your roster. It's not a bad approach to it, but I think there's a couple of things that could be improved.
1: Buzzs first alt should be the Toy. Not the human. It would be okay to have the other alts, but the Toy is who people fell in love with. Not Lightyear.
2: Having that, you only do one per franchise is not a bad idea... but having everything after that be DLC? I would hate that. Instead, just do seasons, where you add the new characters.
3: Dark Wing isn't a bad idea, but you said you're doing the popular and important characters for this. Like Scrooge mcduck. I think it would be best to include Dark wing in another season or something.
4: I don't hate the idea of a Luxo joke character... but on base roster? Seriously? A joke character is kinda a double-edged sword. It's not a bad idea and could like it, but some will feel cheated out on a roster slot for another pixar rep. I mean, look at Banana Gaurd from Multiversus. It's funny, sure, but people didn't ask for him. They asked for Marciline, or the Ice King, or Princess Bubble gum! It feels cheap. So if you're going to do a joke, then make it DLC. Not on the main roster.
5: I do agree that it should kinda just be smash but with Disney. Game machines and all. And if I could make a suggestion, I think we should also have Final Smashes as well! Named something else, of course.
And that's about all I really have to say. You had some good ideas! I'm looking forward to a game like this.
Wander/Sylvia tag-team could go so hard. Wander as the weaker but more agile character, and Sylvia as the stronger but slower one. Uhm, if this gets seen I can brainstorm a move set.

I like most of this list, but maybe for the initial roster it could include a few more classic Disney characters, like genie, mowgli, rapunzel, Quasimodo, I know you said not Hercules but he isn’t too much of a sword character and is really iconic, Beast from beauty and the, Tarzan, or a lot more villains, classic villains are the best part of Disney, also peterpan

Ever since Multiverses came out I've been thinking about something like this

Imagine phineas and ferb as a character like a ice climbers situation
Some ideas.
- Chernabog as the main antagonist of the story mode. Besides Maleficent, he is usually seen as THE Disney villain. As Yen Sid calls in the heroes to help him stop Chernabog from conquering the multiverse.
- Characters have both a
Special Move Meter AND a Music Move Meter. The latter pays homage to various songs over the years and is built up through timed combos. For example: Kim Possible's special is her battle suit from the show. Her music move is Wade hacking the screen to the beat of the Kim Possible theme song. Both can be turned off for competitive play.
- The main antagonist of the arcade mode is an Evil Wishing Wand. The winner gets to wish for whatever they want after winning, as this helps deepen the arcade mode endings, due to being reflective of each character. Some examples; Gaston can wish for Belle to be his wife, Goliath can wish all dead members of his clan back and Perry can wish for Phineas & Ferb to know his secret without being relocated to another family. It would be great to see these and more animated.
- Perry can call Major Monogram & Carl, much like Solid Snake's codec calls.
- Summons in this game are items called "Summon Stars" instead of Assist Trophies.
