“I had the Ace”
The Ace of spades 😂
😂I couldn't tell if Ivey lied to Mike just to troll him or if he genuinely felt bad for bluffing him😂 What do you think?
@RoyalFlushMediaCompany he didn't lie! He had the ace!
@@RoyalFlushMediaCompany high level trolling =) he said he had the Ace - and he actually had it.
And I think he did feel bad so he wanna make Mike feel better by half lying again
Or did he misread his hand and actually thought he had the ace of clubs lol
Ivey was involved in the two best poker hands (with reads) that I've ever seen:
1) I saw him fold on the river, holding Jacks full of 10's, to an opponent betting, while holding Kings full of 10's (they both flopped sets). I don't think that I could ever make that laydown.
2) I watched him bluff Gus Hanson on the river with 9 high, while Gus was holding King high, seriously considering making a hero call against him.
Gus folds, no cards are shown, and says to Ivey "trying to buy the pot with a 9 again?", to which Ivey responds "Were you seriously thinking about calling with a King high?"
😮😮😮
Next-level shit, those guys.
do you remember what show number two happened on?
@@andrewdinns1746 definitely Poker After Dark. Like 2006-2007 era.
Ivy had k2 vs Hansen's 97 but Hansen had 2 pair by river and called Ivy's semi bluff at the end (w pair of 2s). This was the previous time they played in a tourney
I've made that 1 read before. It's such a tough hand to lay down.
All in with Q8, hit nothing on the flop... absolute SOUL READ by Phil Ivey
what did the guy say as he foldeD?
@@ijustwannaleaveacommentony6511it's very hard to understand, it sounds like he looks at someone and says "what was I thinking, ______" someone's name, but maybe somebody else will come through with greater clarity on this lol
I think he said "there's no point thinking" as he could never call
@@ijustwannaleaveacommentony6511he says something about a good lay doen i do believe
Patrick Antonius looks exactly like I'd expect a guy named Patrick Antonius to look.
😂 accurate!
Handsome squidward but not handsome
@@zachm5136 both of you are fucking with my mind right now. freaky ass innately-related cultural zeitgeist shit. enough to swear ur subconscious is getting replaced with ai. that'd be the way to go tho, huh?
i re-read that, the coke has worn off. thanks for your concern
(2 mins have passed)
@@bob3007 I had to think about it but then realized your name is Bob, we’re talking about Patrick and I mentioned Squidward. Makes sense. Glad you’re ok!
PS. I’m curious what you meant by the whole AI/subconscious thing.
Ivey > Hellmuth
1000%
This is probably a poker wide agreement 😂
Unless you like watching Hellmuth lose and blow up at Math teachers. That's funny stuff.
@@nvrending4625 😂 Agreed!
No shit
My favourite hand is the one against Lex with 52o, its just a sick level.
Insane play!
“Thought you were just angry at barry” “I am”😂
By far the best player I’ve seen. He makes Helmuth look like an amateur.
Agreed! I had the pleasure of playing with him in a WSOP event. He's a killer for sure!
thats because Hellmuth plays like a amateur .
@@lisafreeman7963 yes thats why he has the most wsop bracelets and is in top 3 wsop earnings.
Or mayby they just show on YT clips of him losing and u think thats all he does.
So its not him beign amateur its you beign low iq and its a fact
The GOAT!!
Agreed!
Overrated

"welcome to the ivey world jason" legendary
Such a legendary quote and such high respect behind it
Ivey is a straight-up assassin! 😮
To be honest at my local casino I would have been rawdogged if I tried to represent the ace on that clubs board 😂
The K7 hand vs Benyamine’s flush and Antonius K was a matter of deducing what they had and then pulling the trigger. It’s a flush and a K in his opponents hands unless someone flopped 2’s full. After the turn action Ivey knew he needed help and when the 4th diamond came, inspiration struck. He realized how tough it would be for Benyamine to call without the A or FH so he bet, whereas now it looks like he’s got the A or a FH when he’ll😂are into 2 players.
Great video 👌🏽
Thank you! 🙂
Mercier did not play that hand bad. He put Ivey on exactly what he had, and Ivey made a good call.
Phil looks like he's looking into the next dimension with those stares
Pop it 600 min raise and make em go all in bc people get pissed when u raise em
Shocked that Matusow folded the 2nd nut flush after the turn went check, check especially against Ivey
Against the average poker player this would be an easy fold. But as you stated, it's Phil Ivey lol
Im not folding lol
@@RoyalFlushMediaCompany can you imagine how often Phil has shown Mike the nuts in the last 20 years 😂
Ivey either has the Kc beat or he has nothing. Matusow hand is about as good as naken KK. Would you be shocked if Mike had folded KK w/ no club?
Incredible table
Im calling with a K high flush out of curiosity.
Dude is my idol!
The K9s fold vs esfanderi is worth a shout
Agreed! 👍🏽
The k 10 was the best
I would've went all in!!
In the last clip my opponent has J-7
Every time I have a good hand I pull up my hoodie..
Every Pro will tell you... they're all just trying to keep their money from Phil Ivey.
Iveys pokerface is fuckin unreal.
He's a beast!
Tuchman with the british accent lmaoooo
I don't know why some titles underestimate humans! Like that one, you actually dont know that we are just using 1% of our brain.
I thought they proved that was just a myth? And that we actually use almost all parts of brain at different times?
Second hand is from high stakes poker not from poker after dark
announcer guy @ 15:49 " I don't see HOW he can POSSIBLY continue in this hand " (referring to Ivey)
our hero Ivey @ 15:56 'ALL IN"
ALSO announcer guy @ 15:57 'WHAT !!!!!" 😯 😦 😧 😛
GOAT
@02:40 😂 welcome to the ivey world? It's like my friend from Jacksonville FL I said you want to play cards for. $ so 45's 2-7 Omaha and pull a deck out of my back pocket, he's like what is 45's and forget it🙄
I like the jam with A4hh there by Mercier
Yea I like how he played that hand with the exception of his cbet size. 60% is too big for his range on a dry flop like that. Looks bluffy
@@RoyalFlushMediaCompany That might be standard in a 3bet pot deep .. not sure what stack sizes were.
There are places where the solver bet half pot as a cbet in 3BPs.
@@xxChacaronXX I think if the flop is draw heavy and your hand requires protection from over cards then it would make sense to bet half pot. I feel like when Mercier bets half pot he doesn’t really have QQ-AA. Which is why I think Ivey raised him on the flop. Probably felt like he had AK or A5s
If the diamond didnt come on the river would ivey still gone all in
I hope his chair does not vibrate

Sinead O'Conner plays some mean poker
10:19 one of the worst folds ive ever seen from someone who calls the flop on a draw.
Bro having nightmares about that till this day
I would love to know what he's thinking with some of those hero folds. I would almost never fold KKKT.
I guess that means you would never expect your opponent to bluff in that spot, then? because KT here seems like merely a bluff catcher, can't expect villain to bet much worse for value in that configuration.
those are simply GOD LIKE reads that I will never come close to attaining.
1000% of the time I would have gone broke in a playout like where Ivey folded at 14:26.....but somehow the GOAT finds it in himself to fold.
I mean yes, I once called not one BUT TWO players' precise hole cards before showdown, but....that was just silly bar poker, LOL.
But I have seen him making wrong folds also...no wonder he is not doing that good with chinese players ...
David should have realized that Phil couldn’t have ace king or ace queen of diamonds making it less likely he actually has the nut flush. Gave him too much credit for having a good hand imo.
Ivey could have full houses with K2s and 22 when he bets the flop. He also could have A2-AJ of diamonds. However, I think he would continue betting the turn with these hands. Once he checks the turn, his hand seems like KJ or KQ. So yea, I agree with you that Ivey doesn't really have an Ace of diamonds in this spot. He still could have a some boats like 44 or 55.
What do you think are some of his bluffs?
@@RoyalFlushMediaCompany I have a hard time understanding this analysis of poker. At the highest level, both players are aware of W position + X hand + Y board = Z play, so... why would a player always do Z? Sometimes, it's even more likely a player has X hand if they *dont* do Z, because then your opponent may think you are strong and trying to convince them you are weak. The layers of bluff-double bluff-triple bluff seem so never ending, I don't understand how you can make decisions based off of this alone.
I think the very best players take that information, and synthesise it with reads and psychology. They check it against what they know about the individual player they are up against. It's never as simple as X hand = Z play.
Always Phiiil bad for Matusow :(
That last hand was strange
Couple of the hands are strange and if Ivey knew about defects in certain cards that made him 10 million in baccarat it’s possible he knew something in other situations
Interesting 🤔 I've never even considered that. Highly unlikely, but definitely possible
@@RoyalFlushMediaCompanyPhil Jackson was giving away so many tells he was uncomfortable. Ivey tests him by asking how much he has behind and his voice cracks while responding.
@@mitchrapp5214 yes, that and his line along with his bet sizing made no sense.
Watching this now, I think we don't really feel the same way because so many more players now understand how this works. Thing is though, back then... to watch a young prodigy crawl his way inside the mind of another player and somehow play the game from HIS OPPONENT'S SEAT was simply mind-blowing.
ivey or daniel better?
Daniel is a fish nowadays in the high stakes. Ivey is still a shark
He quite kk with flush i dont believe in this 😂😂😂
Those creepy modern poker-boys hiding deep in the hole when facing Ivey.. They Phiiiiil scared..
That was High Stakes Poker. NOT Poker After Dark.
My mistake. Sorry about that
Was it being played at night? Could it maybe have been High Stakes Poker After Dark?
@@troymcallister8400 I believe so. In that case I guess technically it wasn’t a mistake then 😂
Ivey>dwan
Agreed! But Dwan gave Ivey a run for his money back in the Poker After Dark days.
Just see a bunch of cowards he just got balls
Im sorry..but is it possible there was somw chesting going on back in the day. The last hand is just ridiculous..looks like how Mike Postle would be playing.
Iveys morphing into charlie villanueva
😂😂😂 Now I can’t unsee it
Thats horrible play from tony
Yeah….ace of spades.
Fib.
WHAT
Mattusow went broke because he always played scared poker, should have just stayed at 5-10…
Mike play badly

How so?
Ivey is overrated. Nowadays, top poker players run circle around Ivey.
No, no they don't. Theres a reason why every pro will tell you hes the GOAT. If anything he's underrated.
@@bc1sjw, he used to be good. Nowadays, top poker players are much better than Ivey.
