Negreanu is completely out of line. Hellmuth is clearly the absolute greatest of all time at being a whinging, moaning, fragile ego, crying man-child when he loses. No contest.
I love how Phil has stopped playing to think through his arguments while Daniel is still playing every hand while easily and accurately backing up his arguments with ease.
If Phil was truly confident deep down he was the best, he wouldn’t be bothered by what anyone else says. He obviously doesn’t and needs that affirmation from people he respects.
Exactly that’s what makes Ivey the goat because he never claimed to be the best even tho he is probably the most feared poker player to find at your table aka the GOAT
Maria and Nick have an actual banger of a hand going, with Nick picking up the straight on the turn then the queen of spades on the river just upending everything for him reopening spades or A/K. And Phil won't shut up, classic Phil "Lesser players don't deserve table ettiquitte" Hellmuth.
Phil doesn't know how to handle an opponent who doesn't think like him. He not only expects people to play a certain way, but he feels entitled to it. If you don't do what he thinks you should have done, it offends him 😂. He gets mad that you didn't let him outplay you.
I will never tire of watching this clip. Negreanu's comic timing, along with Hellmuth's facial expressions, makes this probably the best poker moment of all time. Definitely the funniest. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Phil has got away with berating players for too long and players need to start calling him out more cause it’s bs and it’s no longer needed to pump up poker.
He got it into his head that she had either A K or two spades to finish the flush. He was pretty passive that whole hand. He should have fired off another bet on the flop, just to see where Maria was at. Wright had no info. That was kind of the story of the hand. She raised pre-flop, Nick called, Nick checked the flop, she followed (no info), Nick makes a small bet on the turn, she follows with no hesitation (again, very little info or the possibility she is chasing a flush or straight), the queen comes out so Nick can now be beaten by an opponent with A K and it's a spade so if she was chasing a spade flush she just got it. Nick checks, Maria makes a bet nearly the size of the pot and Nick imagines the worst has happened. But personally if that was me, there's no way I'm folding. I'm already invested, I've got the straight, I at least need to learn if my instincts were right or not.
@@theperfectdoug yeah defnetly not worth to look closer, there also can be a bug from the hole cards. No discussion of call or not call, absolutley true. It seems like Hellmuth has Sierra figured out how terrible he is to others and had made an effort to be more respectful, but he's not remotely close to consistent about it. I don't find him entertaining - I think poker would be better without him.
Hellmuth is basically just upset that a more prestiguous and well respected game came about after the WSOP, which stole the title of the premiere battleground for the best players. Because of his ego, and having put so much effort into winning in the WSOP, he is too afraid to compete in the "better league" because he doesn't want to face the reality of the situation; that there are more skilled players than him. I can actually relate to this in some way, because I was big into online gaming in the mid to late 90's when it was in its infancy, and having played a lot of Quake, I was pretty good at it... the problem came when gaming became hugely accessible and popular, so now the playing field widened out so far that I saw my skill drop from all the new faces. Big fish in a small pond became bait in the ocean... or at least, that's currently what he's trying to avoid by sticking to his guns, and that the WSOP is the only place that matters.
I dont think Phil Ivy ever considers himself the GOAT, and assuming he doesnt cause if he did for a moment, he knows his game would slip. In fact, I believe Phil Ivy is, in his mind, striving to be the GOAT but never believes he could reach the zenith of the game.
If *Stu Ungar* wasn't a complete coke-head and if he played as much as Phil did...This conversation wouldn't even exist... On paper he is, *BUT* imagine if *Mario Lemieux* didn't get any cancer and/or played in a team as good as the Oilers in the 80s ??? Same thing with *Larry Bird* ... He doesn't have the best NBA statistic, on paper he is not the GOAT, but like the Godfather *Pat Riley* said once: *“If I had to choose a player to take a final shot to win a game, I’d choose Jordan... But if I could pick one to shoot to save my life, I would pick Bird.”* Self proclaiming yourself the GOAT is the equivalent of a waiter asking for tip... You simply just don't do it... lol
Phil's cautious game style will generally get you deep into tournaments, and 17 WSOP bracelets is no fluke. Cash games on the other hand, are all about playing/gambling with shitty cards and sucking out for big pots. Hellmuth is abrasive and arrogant but his WSOP results are unmatched and his solid poker approach has made him wealthy. The aggressive types ala Tom Dwan , Matasow etc. wind up broke and begging for backers.
I've been watching and playing (poorly) poker for about 20 years & Ivey has always been the guy who I'd bet on. All things being equal (if no luck was involved), I think he would win every time. He knows the math as well as most of the "math guys" and his reads might be the best ever. Plus, no one is as intimidating. He's the best. He knows it. We know it. They know it. Hellmuth knows it.
ESFERIANDI IS A MAD SCIENTIST, PHIL HELLMUTH IS KING OF VALCANOS, IVY IS THE ONE WHO IS KING OF ART AND NEGREANU IS THE MIND READER. THEY ALL GOT ROLLS THEY PLAY!
Phil's ego is huge...lol. I once had a dream that I was playing in a simple cash game with Phil, I got quad Q's and he got quad A's. I started celebrating. He said "My quad Aces beat your quad Queens, dude." I said, "Yes, you won the hand of $2000, but I just won the bad beat jackpot of $125,000" The look on his face was priceless
Phil was an early founder and did very well. But the game changed around him and he hasn't adapted. Now he checks to the river and gets outdrawn every time.
@@billytringuyen1 That makes zero logic. Using that same logic Tom Brady wasn't as good as the `people that made more than him. Poker is also a game that needs some probability to go in your favor at one time or another especially in a tournament. Winning almost 20 WSOP tournaments means a lot. The argument is not the wins it is the time and opponents. Anyone that discounts Phil is probably a moron. It is a common internet thing to do. Highest earnings is the worst way to attempt to find who is good or not. Someone like Dan Bilzerian has more poker earnings than a lot of pros. Doesn't mean that he is great. Like a pro Boxer that picks his opponents carefully.
I love how Hellmuth complains about unprofessional behaviour of other players while perpetrating the most unprofessional behaviour at the table. Last I checked having a reputation of being a Brat was not a good thing.
If you have to tell people you're the greatest, then you're needing validation. The greatest is based on his/hers peer group opinion. What Phil fails to realize is that he hurts receiving the validation he desires or deserves by being a "Me, Me, Me" personality.
That is called an argumentum ad populum fallacy. Poker is a bit different and have far smarter people but in other sports the peer groups still vote on popularity more than skill. The top 100 in the NFL is a good example. Anyone that writes an original comment on youtube is also seeking validation and attention. People don't do it in the hopes that nobody reads it and it is ignored. They want to be told how correct they are and get likes.
I worked in a casino a bit off the beaten path, and Hellmuth showed up unannounced to play in our poker room one very busy night. He checked in his luggage and just walked back to it without asking for management or any other special treatment. He didn't cause one issue during the hours he played, tipped everyone he with which he interacted high, cashed out, grabbed his luggage, and then left.
Negreanu is clairvoyant… it is absolutely uncanny how he can deduce the possibilities and 9 times out of 10, he will tell his opponent EXACTLY what he’s got in the hole. He OWNS Hellmouth these days.
That just is not true. 9 out of 10 times. It seems that way when you only watch youtube videos that show him doing it. If that were true he would win far more often.
There is a HUGE thing that nobody shoves down PH Mouth. The WSOP field was anywhere from 100-150 players for the entire tournament as opposed to today, Tens of thousands? Correct me if Im wrong
You are conflating the main event to every other tourney. Yes, the main event gets tens of thousands but the others usually do not. Nobody is shoving it down his throat because it is not a good argument. Daniels last wsop bracelet had around the same amount of people less than 200. Back then only the best players showed up to play in these games. Normies didn't know about the WSOP. The poker boom changed everything.
I will admit, seeing that balding leprechaun "cha cha real slow" while taunting me in a fucking Mahomes jersey, after winning on the river, I'd be beyond tilted as well.
1. Phil Hellmuth would not be the leader in WSOP bracelets if Ivey played as many events. 2. Outside the WSOP, Phil doesn't have much of a resume. 3. He's the WORST cash game player of all the "top pros." 4. Of the top 10 players between 1970 and 1990, probably only 1 would be able to crack the top 50 today (Stu Ungar). 5. The field sizes are 100 times what they were when Phil won his Main Event. You can "luck" your way through a field size of less than 100.
Do you have down syndrome? Most, if not all, of Ivey's bracelets are small field non-hold'em games. When it comes to limit/no limit hold'em Helmuth is King...there really isn't a debate to be had.
Phil is one of the greats, and is in fact the GOAT when referencing the WSOP! Beyond that he has no clout whatsoever, but isn't that enough Phil? You're also a great poker ambassador bringing in new players. Of course, should you realize you're not the GOAT of all pokerdom, your ambassadorial draw becomes less effective, so keep on keeping on Phil, we love you!👍✌🎄🤶🎅🗽
I would bet on Daniel over Phil after watching them play for years. I think Negreanu has better instincts. Helmuth may have a lot of bracelets but I think he is tone deaf at times when it comes to reading the room.
I love Phil he honestly but the thing he’s wrong about here is he basically uses his WSOP career you have so many different tournaments you have Triton WPT Poker Stars and you have the Poker Go tournaments and High Stakes you have Poker after Dark Poker night in America and Hustler casino live and Triton cash games Phil either doesn’t play in the other ones or doesn’t do good and he argues with Daniel that he’s the best Holdem player in the world based on WSOP and Phil’s also played in if not the most events he’s close in WSOP events
Phil goes for the easy braclet events that the better players dont care about. Plus his winnings in the 80s and 90s was up against just old school basic play players. The poker players today are much better.
Hellmuth is the Lebronda James of Poker. Cry baby, loves to hear himself talk and an absolute TOOL. Hard to watch any game when he's ranting aka crying lol.
The reason Hellmuth has so many bracelets is because he played EVERY SINGLE EVENT every year for 20 years. I have seen him lose more than win. If you win 3 times as much as anyone else, but play 10 times more... is that really a testament to your ability, or more to your tenacity. Phil Hellmuth has tried harder than anyone, he stuck to his goal and earned everything he has. I don't want anyone to mistake me and think I am sayin Phil isn't one of the greatest, most well known people to ever play the game. But if you have say, 2 baseball pitchers... one has played 200 games and threw 300 strikes outs. The other has played 10000 games and threw 2000 strikes outs... Who is the better pitcher?
Helmuth needs to be told, especially when he stands up and rants. Thats when I’d give to him, “Look at da Big Baby, awwwwwww.” “You beat me with a 3 🖤s?” I’d retort, “No YOU lost with the Ace of ♠️s”. Lol Negreanu top of the line. He knows and is right. Plus he’s 🇨🇦n.
Hellmuth is not a good player. He plays in more tournaments than anybody in the world. He started playing when the WSOP was only 3 tables. Most people that plays as many tournaments as Phil has would probably win more tournaments than Phil. He just plays tight and thinks he should win all the time. Phil is not even in the top 20 of all time.
Hellmuth has been washed up for at least 5 years. The only reason he still plays high stakes on TV and at the WSOP is because those organisations pay for his buy ins because said organisations know hiring the clown to entertain the people at the circus is good business.
I feel like disciplined Phil is elite, though probably not the GOAT, but tilted Phil is barely a pro. And since he tilts easily and everyone knows it, he gets no respect, because other elite pros know they can just tilt him and win.
Oh that was just disgusting, Hellmouth saying to Maria after loosing "She's the easiest player on the planet to trap". Keep those thoughts to yourself dude, or say them to the camera during the after game interview shit, like that's just poor table manners.
I mean, they got on Hellmuth for winning WSOP tournaments with short fields. Then he wins a bunch of bracelets in bigger fields (more than anyone), and they say it doesn't count because he doesn't win big buy in SHORT FIELDS. Negreanu is completely jealous of Hellmuth and always has been.

On paper he is, *BUT* imagine if *Mario Lemieux* didn't get any cancer and/or played in a team as good as the Oilers in the 80s ???
Same thing with *Larry Bird* ... He doesn't have the best NBA statistic, on paper he is not the GOAT, but like the Godfather *Pat Riley* said once:
*“If I had to choose a player to take a final shot to win a game, I’d choose Jordan... But if I could pick one to shoot to save my life, I would pick Bird.”*
Self proclaiming yourself the GOAT is the equivalent of a waiter asking for tip... You simply just don't do it... lol
finally someone who sees my point of view on Mario Lemieux vs Gretzky I said the same stuff but Gretzky stans would always be heated !
"There is no mathematical explanation..." as to why Phil Ivey always has Hellmuth's number because Ivey is just simply BETTER
I haven't watched poker for a long time. Daniel used to be so light hearted, it's kind of odd to see him getting triggered like this.
"You're not better at Phil Ivy"
Phil's ego is huge...lol.
I once had a dream that I was playing in a simple cash game with Phil, I got quad Q's and he got quad A's.
I started celebrating.
He said "My quad Aces beat your quad Queens, dude."
I said, "Yes, you won the hand of $2000, but I just won the bad beat jackpot of $125,000"
The look on his face was priceless
Daniel gets a straight in the middle of dialogue, keeps going and casually throws chips in the center. 🤣
Who would have ever thought that Nick Wright would be the quiet one at the table? lol
Is that the sports guy Nick playing
Lool I think so 😂
Yep
He made a terrible fold.
saw Phil in person once, dude is tall - cant tell from watching him sat
Phil was an early founder and did very well. But the game changed around him and he hasn't adapted. Now he checks to the river and gets outdrawn every time.
Winning a bunch of $1,000 bracelets doesn't make him anything. Hell, I have onevof the bracelets he does
But the 10k count, right?
ya bracelets ain;t nothing matter is who got the highest earning lol
@@billytringuyen1No, you can be the best but play lower stacks.
What’s hilarious to me is that the self proclaimed best poker player ever doesn’t realize these guys are playing him by riling him up 😂
is like MJ and Lebron , most of people say that MJ is the GOAT , Lebron says that he is the GOAT
I love how this is the goat, trying to convince the one who thinks they’re the goat that the one who would never say they’re the goat is the goat
How many times this story will be uploaded
I mean he could be the best SnG HU televised player of all time maybe ? Beating Polk, Dnegs, Durr and Antonio, losing to Jkoon tho
I will admit, seeing that balding leprechaun "cha cha real slow" while taunting me in a fucking Mahomes jersey, after winning on the river, I'd be beyond tilted as well.
Stu Unger was 3 times the poker player Phil ever could be.
1. Phil Hellmuth would not be the leader in WSOP bracelets if Ivey played as many events.
2. Outside the WSOP, Phil doesn't have much of a resume.
3. He's the WORST cash game player of all the "top pros."
Thought they were gonna fight for a moment... having Buffer there to announce it and all....
Top players I got 🤔 Ivey, Daniel, Tony G, Andy, Garret, Durr, Mark Newhouse, Kevin Heat then Hellmuth
Glad you're diving into this 80 years later buddy
Glad you're watching and commenting buddy
@@AlexDuvall It would be very considerate to offer him some ice when you make a statement like that.
Can’t wait for the next episode where we cover the day that Al bundy scored 4 touchdowns in one game at Polk high
Maria acting like a whole silent assassin.
"There is no mathematical reason why he usually beats me."
Sure there is. He's a better player than you.
Negranu and phil are the shroud and dr disrespect of poker😂
11:10 Maria thinking, yep, and what do u think i've been dealing with.
Phil beat Daniel heads up in 3 straight games.
I don’t like how someone reposts this saying it happened one month ago, when it happened a while back. I’m getting tired of social media
It is genius branding by Phil to be a whiner and complainer. He is playing chess while his haters are playing checkers.
No he’s playing the water pool Dunk guy while everyone else is throwing the ball to knock him into the water
What happened to Maria Ho’s face
Poor Maria. I could feel her dying inside listening to Phil.
After this Phil killed Daniel in a heads up style system dominated him Phil is a strong player just hot blooded
He didnt dominate anything. It was a hyper turbo.
@ three times in a row isn’t variance
Yeah Daniel got schooled. Phil got his revenge.
"Imposter" music, had me cracking up
i was hopin that Buffer would jump up from his chair and start yelling:
.....and in the blue corner etc LoL
@ not really you have more players today that’s why
I wouldn't want to compare Jake Paul and Hellmuth, because Phil actually has an impressive resume, but can't help but think that they're similar.
I mean, I’d think it would be easier to win a tournament with 50-200 entries over one with thousands of entries tbh.
The GOAT in any competitive endeavor never proclaim themself as the GOAT.
Hellmuth cried the same BS 25 years ago when a buddy of mine beat him with a full house he had on the flop. "Milked poor little goat phil"
Helmuth needs to be told, especially when he stands up and rants.
Thats when I’d give to him, “Look at da Big Baby, awwwwwww.” “You beat me with a 3 🖤s?” I’d retort, “No YOU lost with the Ace of ♠️s”.
Lol
Negreanu top of the line.
17 bracelets means something. Don't know what but it does.
