      Isn't a bluff when you have worst hand and bluff the other person into thinking you have winning hand?
      That foxen hand for eg.. he had the winning hand... foxen had nothing.
      So imho if FOXEN called all in n Daniel folded, he would be bluffed.

    • @RoyalFlushMediaCompany
      @RoyalFlushMediaCompany  9 місяців тому

      Yes bluffing is when you're trying to get your opponent to fold a better hand than yours. In the Foxen hand, Daniel turned his hand into a bluff on the river, by check-raising all in, because he knew that his hand is no longer good. @@w0lfm4n43

      @marcn5140 6 місяців тому

      Im really not sure why people overplay AK so much,why is it so hard to fold AK when others 4-bet? You should be the last aggressor with AK,if others shoves or 4-bet you, most of the time AK is no good,for goodness sake even pocket 2s is still leading against AK. You can call but definitely not hard to fold. I always see amateurs overestimating AK and calls All-in. Depending on how deep your opponent's stack is and the value to call,is not a mandatory call

    As a former poker dealer, you can say things like "one day i will be that good" and you know, some of you may be that good. But the one thing that i have noticed is that the people who make money playing poker know when to stop. Even if it is a bad fold/play. Realizing when to step back is more important than knowing when to push.
    I have seen very good/great local players get soundly beat by (for lack of a better term) wannabes just because something put them off their game.

    The last one wasn’t a huge read necessarily. He explained it. Negreanu doesn’t often 3-bet or 4-bet. These guys know each other well. So for dude to all-in heads up after a 3-bet to a fold told him 2 things: 1) He knows I have something, and 2) He can beat me. It was more Negreanu needing to convince himself to not be Phil and actually walk.

    At 5:30, look and enjoy Doyle Brunson's hearty -- apparently totally unironic -- laughter, _after he had folded a pair of jacks!_
    I read Brunson's books years ago, the first one, which he had originally self-published and sold for $1,000 a copy, I dunno, maybe 1987 or so. I read the trade paperback and paid retail, $14,95 or so. I read the second one the second one whenever it came out, I forget when but ten or fifteen years later -- and I recommend them both to anybody young, despite the fact that some peole say there are whole new theories of poker now, in 2024.
    I take this "whole new theories" thing with a grain of salt, but I'm no expert, so whatever. But Doyle: just a pleasure to have ever read. And his little defeat here, by having been yorked out of that powerful pair of jacks? Well, in his first book we read about his road days in Texas, when it was all illegal, but you didn't worry about the Rangers: you worried about the highjackers, which has nothing to do with sitting in the hijack. Texas highjackers were, and probably still are, guys who came in therough the door with guns in the middle of the night and lieave with all your money.
    Whether it was in the pot or not. 😞

    Hey guys I'm a little confused cause I'm kind of new to the rules of holdem, about how Negreanu had a worse hand than Foxen at the 11:00 minute mark...I get that whatever is on the board counts as everyone's hand, in that case they both had K-K-9-9 but why did Foxen end up with the 100% check mark? I thought if you both had the same hand the pot should be split? I also understand that when that 2nd King came on the board Negreanu's 3 became irrelevant and neither one of them had an Ace or a King as far as a high card, could someone explain to me what happened there?

      @TangoDelta8111 9 місяців тому +1

      They dont have the same hand. She had 2 pair with an 8 kicker, Daniel’s kicker was a 3. She has better hand

      Hey there, that's a good question that I'd be happy to provide answer. You we're on the right path but you have to remember that a players kicker matters. In No Limit Texas Hold'em, the best possible five-card hand wins the pot. On the turn, Daniel had the best hand with two pair: nines and threes with a deuce kicker. But on the river, Daniel's two pair is counterfeited as he now only plays the board with two pair: kings and nines with a 3 kicker. Foxen on the other hand, is not playing the board because she is using the 8 of clubs kicker, which is higher than the Daniel's 3 of clubs kicker. So for Foxen, the best possible five-card hand is two pair: kings and nines with an 8 of clubs kicker.
      Let me know if you have any further questions 😎

      @@RoyalFlushMediaCompany Oh I see, thank you for taking the time to respond. I thought a player needed at least one high card in order to win the hand, now I know that's not the case, but is there any situation where that could happen? And In what situation would you end up with a split pot?

    • @RoyalFlushMediaCompany
      @RoyalFlushMediaCompany  9 місяців тому +2

      @@MBS1995 So let's say the board ran out KKA99..In that case, it would be a split pot or a "chop pot" as its more commonly known. Since the Ace is higher than any card that Daniel or Foxen has in their hand, it gives them both two pair with an Ace kicker.
