I pray for him, too. I really hope these people come to peace in Christ.

Plz add Jim Caviezel, and Mel Gibson, both Christians working hard to save little kids from sex trafficking's. I recommend song of freedom movie.
You can add Oliver Stone who made many documentaries trying to prevent wars.

I struggle a lot with the suffering in the world. I work as a doctor in an oncology ward, I want to be Catholic some day but the suffering I see daily really makes it difficult for me
    God bless!

I would read up on the Catholic view of suffering. When you mourn for your patients and their families you can offer that to the Lord and He will use it for redemption of souls. Our suffering can have great meaning if we allow it to 💛

@@kasiaseubertYeah the image of the crucified God co-suffering with humanity has always resonated with me. I don’t think the problem of evil has a solution but that image comes close.

I appreciate you sharing this. I could only imagine the things, and the hurting people, you deal with. What you do is so very worth doing, and I'm sure many lives are better for it. Since you've shared this, I've prayed for you and the people you work with. Take care!

There’s a song/ poem he performed called “Phantom Regret” that was featured on The Weeknd’s album. I think it is very telling about Jim Carey’s spiritual views.

I LOVED to see Jim transformation, he choose the path of healing (accepting suffering) instead of the regular path of doing more of your drug (fame, money, women, recognition, actual drug) And he does not pretend it's easy + using painting, music, religion to find his path.

I was born in 1985 so I was at the best age when Jim Carrey exploded on the scene. I will always have a special place in my heart for him and I too pray for his soul. You can sense his sincerity as a person and although he got caught up in the hollywood web, I can see him seeking truth and I believe he'll find it 💛🙏

He often seems very sincere, and tries to help others. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he becomes a Christian.

Thank you, I appreciate what doing. This modern worldview really does eat away at the soul. I’ve suffered from this ” affliction” for most of my teens and 20s and I be lying, if I said it was completely gone. but sometimes when I’m at church in prayer or maybe out side on a beautiful day, when all of heaven seems to be opening up before you. The world is no longer meaningless. It full of life and enchantment.

Good video Roger. A proper understanding of suffering is essential to the Christian life. As I'm learning about Catholicism, I appreciate the embracing of suffering and how it brings us closer to Christ.

Though I've never liked Mr. Carrey, his thoughts about Christ made me respect the celebrity.

@@rogermaxson2512 So do I. He earned more respect from me because I always learn a lot from my emotional pain. It's probably the most effective natural way for God to sanctify me. As Prof. Robert Gavin taught me while I earned a philosophy degess, people must suffer to become wise.

Your video made me think, so thank you. I hope this doesn't become a rant. I do believe that any person who amasses above-average money and material goods in the world, if his conscience is probing for eternal truths, will ponder the meaning of his life and question what to do next to address the moral and ethical vacuum that wealth could place him in. This category or person can include actors, business magnates...almost anyone greatly materially successful. Some people fail this thought process, lose much of their morality, their soul, think they are owed honor, and proceed to treat those around them badly. The lucky few who muddle through this process and actually have an illumination of conscience can then, and only then, proceed to positively change the lives of those who have much more trouble surviving in the world. This might mean astutely giving to charity, endowing scholarships, or just helping people. Would you put someone like Bill Gates in this category? Musk? Bezos? I don't know enough about their private lives and endeavors to adequately judge any of them. However, we die as we were born, naked before God. Your life will be put on a brief trial, to determine your soul's fate, with Satan vying for it. The question you will need to answer is: Did I do enough for others during my lifetime, within my capability or more, giving to them what morality demands, and also give to God what is God's? Now the kicker: This evolution is not just for the rich. It's for all of us. Answering, truly, what is my moral responsibility in this world, and how do I live up to it?
Too much, too long? Ugh; sorry! But thanks for the video.

There's wisdom here, Gary! I could be wrong, but it does seem like him tries to help others for reasons beyond getting a mere tax break. I don't know his heart. I do pray for him.
But I think your point is a great one. Whether we're rich or poor, famous or unknown, we have a responsibility to live in charity, and do our best to help the world with truth and love.
One day, I will give an account of my life. I try to keep that in mind.

@@rogermaxson2512 I'll put this under the category "rumor has it." It's interesting. A soul's judgement, witnessed by a saint.
What's interesting is look who the soul's "defense attorney" is. Know her in this life, or don't...

I know that Christ Loves me, and suffered for me, and wants to shoulder my burdens, and has a beautiful future prepared for me; yet i so often turn from Him, to the fading things of this world, which are shallow and dump me on the wayside, because they are false. Jesus is always there to put out His hand and lift back up from the gutter; He is so beautiful and faithful and I am so ugly and faithless and as the years have past by. I feel more and more weary. I am like a doctor who knows smoking will kill him but continues to chain smoke anyway. I have made myself my own victim and it is hell. If I ended up in hell and it were possible' I would still love Jesus and not have a bad word said about him, and would say to the other poor souls, stop complaining, it was a fair cop. Just some reflections on Roger's video. You may think just the ramblings of a crazy Englishman.
Grateful for your prayers which are always needed

Don’t waste prayers on actors. They are professional liars. Their job is to read a script like it’s spontaneously coming out of their heads. How would you know if a guy like Jim Carrey was ever sincere about anything? You are free to enjoy his talents of course but I would be careful about letting him into your hearts and minds. There was a time in which actors weren’t idolized. They were on the same level as gypsies and circus performers. We are slowly returning to that but it’s a long process. It can’t happen fast enough as far as I’m concerned.

    • @rogermaxson2512
      @rogermaxson2512  2 місяці тому +2

You're right: they certainly shouldn't be idolized. I think C.S. Lewis said something about that. Basically, we "freed" ourselves from nobility and monarchs. But instead we grew infatuated with a new crowd... celebrities who are often even less grounded. But, I do want the best for them, and hope I pray for them.
