I wasn’t expecting this, but Sacha feels like the most steady and grounding presence at this table. He is clearly a highly intelligent person. Great Roundtable ❤️
Yeah not many people know that his actual personality is quite reserved and intelligent because he plays such silly/ larger than life characters. Not only did he go to Cambridge but he went to a sophisticated French comedy school that funnily enough looks at the art of 'clowning' basically making yourself look dumb to satire society. He also was / is a Jewish / progressive activist from his Uni days!

@D. Johnston please shed some light on what crimes Jim Carrey has done, I’m going to guess you have no idea what your talking about since you haven’t responded to the other two comments above me in 2 weeks
It's true what Henry said about himself, meeting fans and being able to be gracious no matter what. He passed through my hometown and ate at a popular local restaurant, many people talked fondly of their experience meeting him. He entertained pretty much everyone that wanted a moment with him. I hadn't seen much of his work but after hearing about him being in town and how nice he was I became interested in finding films or shows he had been in. All of the actors experiences and how they deal with fame are valid, in my opinion, but Henry's approach seems so kind to me.
@Patrick Harrison I can see why you feel that way. But I think he's just trying to explain the motive behind his work is all. Just like Robin Williams trying to spread positivity in his films because he too was a broken man.

My mother in law met Henry in Betty's tearoom in Harrogate, she sneaked up behind him and grabbed him shouting 'hey Fonze'. He turned round with a huge smile and gave her a warm hug and then posed for a selfie with her and my wife. She totally invaded his space and he would've been right to react badly but he's such a gentlemen, even if it phased him he didn't let it show. What Henry didn't know is that her husband had just died a few months before and he really cheered her up, this was over four years ago and she still talks about that day and smiles everytime. I love Henry for this, this man is a true legend. Peace, love and happy days.

Great Roundtable, great interviewer! The way she lets conversations grow into something beautiful by not interrupting and then finds the perfect time to ask a new question to keep it going is brilliant.
It was amazing, especially having Carrey and Sasha together. They're both geniuses, especially the latter. I really hope they have an episode like this for "lesser" known comedians, who are absolutely brilliant. They write, act and direct the funniest sitcom currently on TV, and maybe the best in my lifetime: It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. If they had Rob McElhenney, Glenn Howerton, Charlie Day and/or Danny DeVito, it would be an amazing roundtable. Not only can that show make me laugh hysterically -- whether watching alone or with someone -- but, as stated above, they all write and act the episodes and their character development. Jim Carey is so nice. It seems like he was paying it forward because of what he said about Dick Van Dyke at 1 hour 10 minutes.

So happy I found this and a little sad I didn’t know about these table talks before. Every interview with Jim Carrey where he gets to be vulnerable and honest whilst also being funny always brings me to tears because he reminds me so much about my dad and how he used to be. The candor and vulnerability covered with humor was the embodiment of how I remember my dad and Jim Carrey will always remind me of the that beautiful hurting soul that I lost too soon.

Great Roundtable, great interviewer! The way she lets conversations grow into something beautiful by not interrupting and then finds the perfect time to ask a new question to keep it going is brilliant.
and looking how it is cut they probably talked more than we see in the video and boy i kinda want to listen to them because this is a one fun listen
She tried to tho
Geniuses in the SBC/Carrey mold, truly.
I genuinely scrolled down just to see if somebody had praised her and like the comment. Now I can go to the loo with my mind in peace...
gave you that 600th like boi
What a great interviewer
Damn I got chills when Jim gave praise to Sacha in such an open and honest way, you could see Sacha being so humbled and happy to hear it from a huge influence on his work, Jim is THE man!! Love him! Amazing video!
@Eli 17:15 but it's better if you watch the video from the start when you get the chance
@Eli Indeed...made me choke up actually. Imagine Jim Carrey saying that to you, sitting right across the table.
I would speculate you've never seen narcissism before .. but that's actually kind of a ridiculous speculation isn't it?
@@ohwhatworld5851 the difference is adjective and verb no?
Thank you Iro for your comment, I loved that!
I can feel the amount of brain power going through Jim Carey and Sacha.
Jim Carrey is insane. Ranting about how "there is no me" and "sexual alchemy" and other deep thoughts teenagers discover.
LMivha Sacha - definitely. Jim - doesn’t seem connected for long while now. Typical Hollywood freaking out style
@@jamieb0nd You are mistaking knowledge of things that aren't true for intelligence.
Jim is a loving guy
@@keepersoftheway4437 Not really.
This was a good round table but i gotta give props to the moderator for not interrupting a lot.
I feared Borat might break-in at any moment.
then all Hell breaks loose.
Jim instantly becomes Ace Ventura or Lloyd.
.
.
I was waiting for her to reel it back it bc the conversation went on without her for about a consecutive 15-20 min
I want this woman to do ALL of these from now on. I can't stand the older British guy, he's ruined so many of these for me. Not just interrupting but can quite condescending with things easily.
This show is absolutely fantastic. Seeing the best people come together and share the best of it is amazing!
I wish Jim and Sacha would do a project together, would be wild.
Rae Haynes same
I would pay 5x for watching once
That would be so awesome.
I was thinking the same!
@Justin Smith You must be a brilliant psychiatrist to detect that.
I love Jim Carrey, I hope he knows how much he means to so many people.
I couldn't agree more. I'm 37 and Jim was the first comedian I truly looked up to. Sacha had a huge impact on my life too in my 20's. Comedy makes the world go round.
He knows exactly what he means to so many people and that's the problem. The Him that means stuff to people is not him.
He doesn't care, he lost faith
@@dar213311 Huge impact on your life? You need a new life.
@Uncle Freddy your the only person that thinks that.. I dont even know why your here.. go away you swine
The way Jim Carrey opens by asking the moderator how she is. You can tell, he is just different. Watch the other roundtable and the whole session just feels so much stiffer. The way he opens everything up and creates a casual atmosphere really shows.
he is the most real authentic one
You’re so right, that poor guy that said there is no limit to positive or negative attention said something as dramatic as jim for the opening, but got reactions like the audience for b school presentations, & jim actually got feedback
@D. Johnston truth
I felt narcissist vibes 😬
@@eb5631 based off one interview? cmon girl LMAO
From time to time, I go back to this interview and get inspired by these fantastic actors and their funny and heartwarming stories...all over again ❤ thank you THR
1:13 - 1:14:30 Jim Carrey to Sacha Baron Cohen " I had two choices with you, jealousy or admiration and I choose admiration". Wisdom right there. A great way to live life. Respect to J.C
Cause they are both bat shit crazy, from drugs
@@MyNameIsBVD You're a fucking dipshit. What exactly have you accomplished? Are you more successful than either of them? Lies incoming.
@Englewood Frank21 is this 2015? who says dick rider anymore?
What is it like when Jim Carrey stares you dead in the eyes and says "you killed it man" 17:16
I got gosebumps. Seeing sasha being a fanboy as i am
That was just a great moment. They share a mutual deep respect for each other.
I would tear up if my hero looked me in the eye like that and said ANYTHING positive. What a gift, such validation Jim just gave him.
I’d love to see Rowan Atkinson sitting at this table
58 thumbs up on a comment posted 1 day ago, on a video posted 1 year ago. Because it's such a great comment lol.
yoooooo that would be GREAT !! The honest godfather of comedy.
Damn, yes. But there are so so so many other great comedians who'd deserve to be there too
Actors are not the only humans that create multiple personalities when interacting with other humans. All humans do this chameleon act to others as a defense mechanism to protect our inner ego or lack of self-confidence. Creativity helps to control our inner demons hopefully in a positive way.
Who here after Borat busted Rudy Giuliani?
Wow what a gem of a roundtable. So glad I found it!
Jim Carrey is truly on a different level of honesty and transparency these days. Love it
@Lil Kay Why are you trolling? We get it, you don't like Jim. Good for you, move on.
@Lil Kay there's a difference between "stating facts" and trolling several comments praising Jim. Whether he feels guilty for that girls death or not is none of your concern, yet here you are. And on a more personal note, stick your pathetic emoji up your ass, I'm not impressed. 🖕😘
@Lil Kay did you not hear him say at the start how people take snippets of his life and use them to create their own narrative for their own benefits? That's exactly what you just did, but you don't see it as your too caught up in your own bullshit.
M W no he’s full of shit
Apart from turning into the worlds biggest jerk who thinks he knows the meaning of life.....
I love Jim's honestly. So many actors and comedians are broken and the laughter helps maintain their well-being
I immediately thought of the late Robin Williams. Deeply broken, but deeply gifted
jim carrey looks like he's made peace with himself.
How the fuck would you know ? Are you his personal masseuse ? For crying out loud people in these Hollywood UA-cam comment sections act as if their personal friends with these low-life leftists in Hollywood. These actors and actresses don't give one shit about you people. They love your money.
@@mwmann Calm down Lol
I wish he made peace with the fact vaccines work.
@@mwmann I can said the same about you. How would you know ? Are you close to him ? I'm not saying Hollywood isn't full of bad people, i'm just saying how do you who bad and who don't if you aren't close to them. And if even you are close to them you still can't know for sure what kind of person they are.
It's funny that you criticize others rudely cause they jump to the conclusion that Jim Carrey is a good person while you are doing the same thing .
@@mwmann calm down friend.. seems like life isnt really going well for you.. ask for help, we are here for you
Jim is soo right about the difference between sadness and depression. Thats the first time ive heard anybody explain it that way.
Came for Jim, stayed for Cheadle, loved it for Sacha
Amen
Cohen has the biggest balls ever... All the actors are flabbergasted realizing the efforts and dangers he goes through to deliver entertainment...
Simon Sørensen him and jim Carrey are my fav
i was really drawn in by his story in dc too, but what show/movie/interview was this that he was referring to???
@@Tdray24
It's called Who Is America as I remember. Watch it. It is mindboggling how insane people are and how far they are willing to go to blame others for every problem they have.
Just take Persian Warriors comment above as an example.
Eaxctly, he is sitting there bored, looking at these dumb, politically correct comedians
Not just for entertainment, he does it to expose the reality that is happening around us and to reveal the true colors of some politicians
This was so freaking incredible and insightful. When and where else could you ever hear these people just sit down and talk?
yes
Weird to see a channel with 3,7 million subscribers not even be close to top comment.
