I really needed to hear that today. As a broken man in my mid thirties dealing with depression, anxiety, loneliness, and now unemployment, I sometimes want to just jump off a cliff. But I know that I am not alone in the fight. Millions of other people feel the way I do, and the way that Mr. Carrey felt. It is engrained in our society that we need to be certain people or certain types of people. We try so hard to be the people that we think we need to be that we forget to be who we are. That causes feelings of disassociation and derealization and it only adds to the wall that divides us from our dreams. That feeling of hopelessness and despair continues to impair my ability to share my artistic talents with the world, out of fear of ridicule or rejection. When Mr. Carrey said "you are enough", that was the moment that utterly broke me. For so long, I have beleived that I would never be enough for anyone - a girlfriend, a wife, an employer. Recently, a friend of mine told me that I was enough, too. When we fully realize that we are truly meant to be who we were meant to be, it will be such an enlightening experience. I am enough. You are enough. Thank you, Jim.

Yeah... You are not alone. I've been struggling with depression for over a year ... When I got better my ex wife cheated on me and I had to let her go. My heart was shattered and the depression came back. Every day is a personal fight. Every day I want to end it all but then I think... Maybe if I can go through this day tomorrow it will be better. I just hope one day I will be happy even though I had lost hope in humanity already... Don't give up, friend

I felt like telling you this right now, at one point in my life because of my depression, anxiety, low self esteem, drugs i thought of suicide because i had so much grief but little later on Jesus showed up to me through many miracles for example i had dreams of things that happened or was said in the bible spot on and later on i started to read the bible for the first time in my life and i got to the chapters where i had the dreams about those verses and events that happened in the bible. And as i was going through the bible it felt so alive it was like God was directly speaking to me about my problems and my life and filled me with his presence and a peace within me that ive never felt before . It opened my mind and heart where now i could understand everything that i was questioning about this life. I was the worst sinner doing many evil things in my life, i know now that sin is what makes our soul be so empty and broken to the point we feel so miserable and hopeless and when i was in my lowest moment in life , when my heart humbled that is the moment where God rescues us. When we come to the point where our ego lefts us and humilty come into our hearts thats where you find Jesus. As the bible says that God stands against the pride and gives grace to the humble. And my favourite verse "And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32

I felt like that...genetic depression will do that. Depression, loneliness, hopelessness, borderline sooi-sidal thoughts. Then I was manipulated and discarded by a narcissistic woman, that threw me into a suffering I didn't know could exist. Everyday was existential pain and suffering. I was 30 when that extreme depression started. At 32 now and all of that negativity is completely gone, I am at total peace, again on a level I didn't know possible.
What happened? I found God. God wants you to be you, and the best you you can be. I can not recommend finding God enough. If you'd like any advice or guidance, you need only ask. I want to help everyone that suffers like I used to find the real solution to fixing it. That solution is a relationship with the One that created your spirit in the first place. I wish you the best, blessings

The thing that's so interesting about being alive is that you're all in. No matter what you do, you're all in; this is gonna kill you.
So I think you might as well play the most magnificent game you can while you're waiting.
Because do you have anything better to do? Why not pick the best thing possible that you can do? Because you're more powerful than you think- way more powerful than you think. God only knows what you are in the final analysis. You're blind to your own weaknesses, but you're also blind to your own strengths.
How far can you take that? If you stopped wasting time, and if you stopped lying and you oriented yourself to the highest possible good that you can conceive of and you committed to that. How much good could you do? Well, I would say- why don't you find out?

Nothing is an illusion. Nothing when named becomes something... an image, feeling in oneself. Simmering in nothingness is the absence of not being able to acknowledge there is something. There is always something... that something is unique to the individual. Even a lided jar with the air removed has something in it... small particles called quarks intermittently pass into the jar... so an empty jar never really is empty. For me, depression is a reaction of not liking something or feeling that something is nothing, then experiencing the lack of power and perception to do anything about it... which eats at ones spirit, creating a very real experience of darkness, and in that darkness, frustration because the nothingness has taken hold and one is desperately grasping for that unique something knowing it is there, yet not being able to grasp it... to move toward something... a feeling of being broken. Nothing is Something. There is never really nothing. There is always something. In that, I find a thread of hope when in the darkness.

I'm near my middle 30s now and after a lot of bad happened at the hands of other people the last straw pulled out recently, and i can see that our world is designed to overwhelm and dysregulate us so we can't think clearly. Not about ourselves, the world around us, or about other people especially not being able to see who are bad people and being manipulated and taken advantage of by them.
Now with far too many people around it's only made it so much worse noo... we aren't meant to be surrounded with so much chaos all the time, i can always think totally clearly when i'm on my own away from it all, but the second i go back in my psyche is completely swallowed up by it all and takes me a few days to fully feel myself again. I'm drowning in all these other energies and vibrations and it's so difficult to hear or see myself under it all😮‍💨
We are still animals afterall and other animals don't like a lot of noise pollution it actually kills them, so for our world to be designed this way it shouldn't be allowed knowing the impact it still has our health it's madness.

It's how those in charge of our world confuse and twist our ego, the ego doesn't have to be a bad thing in fact we don't have to completely lose it because it's so intertwined with almost all aspects of ourselves. But it's also the thing that helps protect us or look after ourselves we need our ego still we just have to recognize all the things that try to twist it and appeal to it in all the bad ways they possibly can to keep it in check. It's not a bad or good thing to have an ego it's just like anything else is has a bad and good side to it.

This video really took me by surprise. A lot of the motivational/inspirational videos on UA-cam tend to be fairly toxic and unhelpful, but Jim Carrey is somebody that truly understands what it means to exist, and that is that there is no meaning. We just do. We exist for no reason other than to exist, and the continuous search for self and purpose is frivolous, everything we need is within us, always has been, is right now and always will be. There doesn’t have to be meaning, the fact we are here, watching this video, reading/typing these comments, is a beautiful thing on it’s own. We exist. Over the years, I’ve learnt that those two words and three syllables are much more profound upon contemplation than they are when first hearing them.

It's when the truth hits you hard & that truth is visible through your eyes. Just like a splinter in your mind that bothers you. It's that seek of acceptance from the society & the constant questioning to yourself: "Am I good enough? Is this worth it after all?". It's like the whole universe wants your pure joy & smile to get wiped off your face & your entire existence. Then the most important question arises: "When this suffering will ever end?" & that's the moment of hitting rock bottom. That's the moment that makes you realise that you'll rise from your ashes like a phoenix. That you'll get back to that train, that's called "life" & you'll fulfill your purpose in this special journey that we're living in, because yes that's you that made all the difference since the very beginning. You're that sunbeam of light that appears even in the darkest of days. It's you! it's been always YOU! You just need to let go of that shield. To free your emotions. To embrace yourself to the fullest! Cause that's you. You're breathtaking ❤

Before that, I lived my life as if I were eternal. I also went through depression; it's not easy. I hope Jim will one day find his smile and the joy of living again.

Man!!! Jim Carrey gave us so much!!! 30 years of his movie lines...."I'm a doctor not a pool man" (Ace Ventura), Liar Liar is STILL in my film repertoire because I love to laugh! I adore Fun with Dick and Jane. Jim is great, an individual that is authentic, with all his truth and I love him like a friend that never judges me. Miss him, but understand. Grateful for him for his bits on 'In Living Color' too. Luv u JC 💓

His words speak volumes: we are not the avatars we create. There comes a point in our spiritual journeys where we connect with a higher consciousness and realize that everything around is divine. We are the universe and the universe is us. We can no longer deceive ourselves with the same sincerity as before, we can no longer play the parts we played and we can no longer act. We are this moment in time!

Jim Carrey, you are a national treasure. Please don't sell yourself short. Yes, you have an insane gift to make people laugh, but that's just not the end of it. You make people laugh because of the person you are not because of some screen-writer.

To understand what he means and what ego really is and how we spend way too much enery trying to gratify it only to eventually realize (for some) that it doesnt make us _truly_ happy and fullfilled I can't recommend the book *The power of now* enough.

Jim Carrey is my age. Though he sounds in many interviews after his breakdown as a lunatic of prozac, No. Jim's journey explained in this interview is the most sincere, heart felt explanation of his behavioral descent. He decided to "Unplug." Rest. Some would think that there was a singular event that caused his mental break, but really, it was "A Series of Unfortunate Events." Many episodes in his life as in all of us that lead to that famous movie line quote, "I'm As Mad As Hell And I'm Not Going To Take It Any More!"
Mr. Carrey working so hard to portray his role as Jim Carrey was compared to a v12 fuel injected supercar running at 214 miles per hour in blinding rain at the 24 hours of Le Mans "Until Literally The Wheels Fell Off!"
I sacrificed my entire youth in the United States Navy and even served in Operation Desert Storm and saw things that I thought were very intense, but Mr. Carrey observed and experienced "Things" over his entire career that would cause even a (DEVGRU) Antiterrorism Task Force Special Warfare Operator to..........PAUSE.
God Bless Jim. He learned how to........LET GO.

Our world isn't constructed for us as we see repeatedly every day it's not realistic to how we think, feel, function, and perceive things it's having us in a constant state of sacrificing ourselves and self destruction just to survive ultimately only truly benefiting them. We're also pleasure and nature beings with a soul and a very spiritual side but the commercial society we live in isn't for that, just like other animals we can't handle this much stress and we've been taken away from nature i mean it's even killing animals, fish, and birds so when it isn't even suitable for them we know we have a problem.
They've only found that out by destroying our environment but right now they're still continuing and all the cartels care about is "compensation" for all the oil and coal plants they have to shut down, like at a conference last year where they started telling them about the plans to completely phase out fossil fuels. They stood up in complete shock and outrage because they're losing one of their big money trades, no shock or concern about how they're killing our planet and everything on it no concern even for themselves just their lost profits.
Here in the united kingdom they're about to start phasing out smoking in 2 years time and i've no doubt other countries will follow suit because it's not good for our health and produces carbon monoxide when it's burned, but currently other countries are only thinking about the money it makes selling it even when too many people are getting sick. They need to wake up because this doesn't benefit even them anymore and it's the size of the population that means far more sick people, they believe their own lies that any of this is for life to survive.

Yea some of his comedy was a bit "too much" for my taste but I always admired him as a person, but now I admire him so much more! I was so happy seeing the clips that made so many people think he'd gone crazy lol it seems that he has decided that it doesn't matter what the people who don't get it think of him, that all he wants to do is to bring as much clarity to the people that do get it as he can. True release of ego. 💖

So, after years of pursuing his own goals and making tens of millions of dollars doing it, this druggie home wrecker who influenced a young married woman to take her life, is now penitent and telling you that your own aspirations are not important. Don't buy into this bullshit. I've had a great fifty plus years pursuing and achieving my goals. Don't use this guy's spiritual pie-in-the-sky, kumbaya nonsense as an excuse not to achieve yours.

I always love it when a person with an ego big enough to get them all the way to the top, which does not happen to humble people by the way, suddenly start telling people who have never had a big ego, and thus have not accomplished alot, to not have a big ego.
How highly you think of yourself is directly responsible for how much you achieve, which is why the top end of every hierarchy is where you will find all of the people ruled by dark triad traits.
I think it's far more likely when you see a person like this, they are looking back and lamenting on the selfish people they once were, and are unfortunately only preaching to the choir, because the younger generation of selfish people are not going to absorb this message. So you end up with someone who used to be selfish and egotistical but age and life lessons have mellowed and humbled them, and the only people who are actually listening to their warning are the people who were already mellow and humble enough to be considerate of the message.

Jim’s light made him so entertaining. I think he believes he was playing a role. His light always shined through the lines her rehearsed. The light was the entertaining part, not the roles, not the lines. The light brought joy. The light continues to bring joy long after the roles have been played.
