Unfortunately, a narcissist can also say all those phrases , so phrases are just "empty words" if there is no real love capacity in him/her.

The "miss you" part is so true. After my husband and I dated for not quite 3 months, he went on a business trip and we didn't see each other for 10 days. The first day we saw each other after he came back, he took me in his arms and said "I miss you so much when I'm gone that I know I want to spend the rest of my life with you." He didn't say "Will you marry me?" We knew we were meant for each other. We are soulmates.

My partner said something so beautiful to me last week. It blew me away! He said, "I don't just love you, I love us." Wow! I responded and said, "I love us too. It's beautiful, isn't it?" He agreed.

I know cases like that. It's a generation thing. After ww2 in 50ties and 60ties the idea of the family was so messed up where men were alfa and the pater familias and women were here just to help him to achieve anything and be in his shadows. Many movies are made on that to let us younger generations understand that time and how it was for a woman.
Women didn't have a saying and was just obeying men's wishes.
Men didn't need to do any effort to get attention or to get what ever he wants. Women were throwing themselves to men and were in many ways in Master/Servant relationship.
These times are behind us in most cases as women are more aware of theirs own powers. If woman decides to be in this sort of relationship these days this is part of BDSM society and intimate play but even now if the woman decides to be submissive its her own informed decision where in 50ties was expected of her generally speaking.
I am glad you have a man now taking care of you and your needs as every man should do for his lady. Bless you❤

Your videos were so helpful and informative in not only helping me move on from a toxic situation, but also helped me learn how to put more value on myself and to find the pattern of why I kept attracting the wrong men. I also learned better communication skills and how to improve areas within myself as a whole.
Your videos helped me to better understand the dynamics between men and women.
I have since been following you and have watched all your videos. I am now in a healthy relationship with a man where respect and open communication are key.

My husband is a man of few words but it is his actions that let me know. The way his his eyes glow when he looks at me I knew he was in love with me before I was with him. I had just broke up with my first love and it was very hard for me. He was very patient when I told him I need time and I just want to be friends. He feel in love with me during that time because I saw it in his eyes on day when I was getting out of his car. I have the side of him no one sees. He was so tense and I am not and he has relaxed a lot since we met. Never stop dating. We have been married for almost 31 yeara.

I will use some of these suggestions to reciprocate in kind. I’m also a bit tired of being the emotional support, so I best make an effort to be that for him, or he will find another! It took my partner 2 years to say I love you. We both believe people say it like they’re saying Hello, everyone LOVES everyone and everything and it makes it less important than it should be. We’ve been together 5 years now and still don’t say it daily, we tell each other a couple times a month and that’s what makes it so special to us. Almost a year ago I met my best friend and soulmate. On tinder. Yes tinder. We both weren’t expecting to find anyone obviously let alone fall in love but we did. He’s in the military and I was in college. I was there for him when he was just starting out his military career and he was there for me when I finally moved out and went to college in-person. I was not expecting to find someone so perfect so soon, but I know he’s the one. We talk about our future together and we just know we were made for each other. We have the best communication and a strong emotional connection. Even though we’re long distance now we try to see each other every 2-3 months. Whether that’s me flying out to see him or him driving here (11 hours), or us meeting halfway. I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for us.

We were BOTH blessed to know and FINALLY feel what REAL LOVE is supposed to feel like for 10 beautiful years!
Sadly I lost my partner June 4th this year to stage 4 lung cancer. 😔
It gives me peace to know he's whole again and no longer in pain.
One of my favorite memories is when we went fishing... We both caught a fish at the same time. I said I wonder who's fish is bigger?! Lol We both reeled our lines in and he grabbed me as our fish were flopping around on the shore looked me deep in the eyes and said "It doesn't matter my Queen because you're the greatest catch of my life"... I'll remember that forever!! 💞 Rest in paradise my Handsome! 😘 Til we meet again... 💖 Praying my heart will heal someday. 10 years wasn't long enough but I'm so thankful we had those 10 years. 💞🙏💞

Now days the good ones and the narcissist and manipulators do all these beautiful things and by the time you tell them apart from the good ones you already so deep within and so manipulated that it hurts!!

I know what you say is true. My beloved husband did and said those things with me. (“Did”because he died in 2020. We had 5 years and 8 months together. He is the love of my life. Because he was so loving and our love was so wonderful-I intend to stay single the rest of my life.) As opposed to my first husband who was not invested in our relationship and even after 4 children and 20 years. He did not speak of doing things together. He did not plan a future. But who can when they are busy “shopping” around for this weeks girlfriend? He did not use the word “ours” it was always his. He never stopped speaking of himself as if single in all those years. And from what I understand from my children he treated and treats the other two wives as he did me. Thankful for men like you Mat Shaffer that are educating women on this. It is very important.

    1. He drove 3 hours round trip to spend 2 hours with me. I'd never expect or want him to do the mundane things with me. 2. He won't admit he misses me but he let it slip- once. 3. He offered advice once or twice, and walked me to my car a couple of times. Brought over drinks and snacks a couple of times 4. He compliments me often, personality and otherwise. 5. Never said he's here for me and I don't think it's appropriate to expect that yet. 6. He said he wanted to make it work- due to the distance/drive. 7. Never said he's sorry, but there hasn't been any reason to. Has been willing to explain his actions/thoughts. 8. He said he trusts my cooking (healthy). I asked him to trust me, and he's trying. Not ready to meet his family 9. He hasn't said he's proud of me, but I know he thinks highly of me. 10. No talk about the future, we aren't there yet. I feel like the more emotionally close we get, he panics and shuts me out for a while. I'm just loving and open toward him. Who knows where this is going.

It’s also great that we send those vibes words feelings and actions to our men as well. Sometimes it’s easier for them to know how you feel so they don’t feel so awkward and know they won’t be rejected. It opens the door to a man’s heart and soul. I say I am here for you I love our time together or just showing him you are there for him. Listening to his bad day and telling him it’s ok or providing advice. He knows you are listening and there for him.

Thank you so much for this video. My husband and I had a rough, hard, world against us start. We knew each other from 8th grade but never really close until we got together in 2017. We were married but not in a traditional sense of what we are most familiar with. I share this because there was no documentation in regards to our marriage nor was I aware of who even had knowledge of our marriage. I mean we really in all ways imaginable, had the world against us sharing our lives together. We had a hard time coming together with trust and understanding as well as overcoming toxicity and psychosis that had its grips on one of us very tight and also the cause of the previous mentioned that we faced.
We were determined to overcome because we loved each other and because we knew we could.
January 2021 he passed away at home with me. When he passed there was still so much to see, know, and understand. I had been feeling we had overcome but still had some loose ends and a lot of cleanup or damage control to do. So when he passed, the questioning and doubts have become strong and on the surface a lot more. It doesn’t help that if I hear anything at all from others, it’s to say we were not a couple or good. They are at times down right cruel. Your video has provided me with a reinforcing strength of what I really already knew but was having such a tough time holding on to anymore.
Thank you thank you and thank you!

Huh, that's interesting, I started the video thinking "nah he probably hasn't said any of these" mainly because my boyfriend is not a man of many words and isnt good at giving elaborate compliments (like the ones you always hear in romantic movies etc.).
But in one way or another, he has said most of these things to me directly or indirectly.
Thankyou, this makes me feel less insecure about his feelings towards me!

This video is so good. A long while back i came out of a 7.5 year relationship that went downward after my dad passed away. Became more of my old self and my ex couldnt handle that.
Nowadays i have an amazing boyfriend who said and shows his actions on 8/10 things you mentioned, both accepting and supportive for who we are. We have been good friends for several years and we started dating a while back. Im moving to live with him in 2 months in Australia, leaving Europe behind. Love is an amazing thing. Amazing video ❤

I believe it is SUPER important for you to state that a man NEEDS to SHOW these things, not just statements! ALL narcs KNOW and PLAY these statements in the lovebombing phase of a relationship to gain complete emotional control of women before they start tearing down! And narcs are so prevalent and dangerous! All of these statements mean nothing without actions!!!!

@@Mat_Shaffer This is solid, proven FACT.
      This is NOT an "opinion"
Downgrading my statement to an "opinion" puts women in danger. How about trying to help protect and inform women " things men say" are only TRUE when backed with action? You are potentially putting women in danger by making them believe this. Shame on you

Narcs, psychopaths and sociopaths all use the same words/tactics
I escaped with my life because I saw through what he was intending to do. It's more common than you think/know. Empower women. Don't hand them rose colored glasses

50 hours of learning about men?!
Sorry to sound cynical but the list you've mentioned has already been featured in magazines when I was younger. I guess it doesn't hurt to keep regurgitating these lists. We don't have our third eye open at the same time.
I've been in 3 long term relationships, there's been a lot of love and we have never cheated on each other. There's always been good communication and trust and loyalty. We all stuck it out to the end.
It's important that a person in a relationship knows when they've hurt their partner and recognises this and amends their way of thinking and how they approach things. Adapting and changing is important too. Growing together is beautiful and praising each other is special and giving each other space.
