I’ve been looking at a a lot of videos on how to drum recordings (Audio & Video). Thanks for showing the hookups from the ED10 to the MacBook and a bit more detail on what your clicking on in the software.
I've been contemplating purchasing this for the last few weeks. I've watched a number of different videos featuring people using it. After watching this video I feel comfortable pulling the trigger on it (no pun intended) and dropping the cash on it
well most places have a return policy... for when you waste money on this actual trash recorder, you can take it back. this whole video is fake, the EAD10 sounds about as good as a cellphone microphone.
Hey man, good video! Do you consider using the app for recording at all? I think this method is better for sure but the app is supposed to do this exact thing in less time. Just bought the ead10 and I'm not amazed with the app lol. I think I'll just go your way
Amazing video thank you for explaining the process with much clarity. Just wondering will the Yamaha ead10 be recognised when using video pad editor? I have windows. Thanks very much.
Having some issues between the EAD10 to logic. Every time hit record /and listen back, it pops up with “error while trying to synchronize audio and midi”. Audio sounds cut up, any idea???
I was thinking the same. I’ve heard of an app named Moises where you can remove the drums (and other instruments). I think you can get your song of choice (off itunes etc) then drop to Moises. Remove the drums then drop it into GarageBand. Note, I saw one video where you might want to only reduce drums to 20% because if you go to 0% it may distort the song too much. I’m still learning this stuff.
What kind of interface chord is that you're using to plug into the computer? I've been trying to use the usb ("To Device") and it hasn't been detecting the EAD10.
Have a few questions. First, do you use plugins to make the drum track sound bigger and better after sending it to Logic? And for my second question, do you think it's possible to use other sound files like Steven Slate drums or EZ Drummer to have a better sounds than in the EAD?
Have you tries the Rec n’ Share app from Yamaha? It should let you record audio and video at the same time automatically so you don’t have to line it up after the fact
When I connect my interface cord to my iMac it doesn’t read it?? Why is that I’ve been trying everything and all the chords and adapters are brand new so is my Imac
I've had success with videos using just the rec n' share app and my iPhone, but have felt limited with the editing capabilities. I have personally had a lot less issues using an iPhone and/or MacBook then when I used an android phone or tried using a PC (some all-in-one that I had no success with personally but could have just been a user error and not the tech itself). So far I feel this has been the best video to explain using separate audio and video apps/programs to record, my only question is have you tried recording multiple angles at once and if so what do you recommend for that? Would you recommend a separate camera like a GoPro or could one use the camera and a video capturing program while recording with logic or garageband on the same computer? I also want to thank you for leaving in the tech issue at the end and explaining what you believe to be the issue behind it just in case someone else runs into the same or similar issue while recording. As someone who has been using the Yamaha EAD 10 for about a year now for an online class, I can't recommend this little piece of equipment enough. Keep up the good work with content like this!
1 little thing, you dont wanna export an mp3, you wanna have wav or wave as I think its called in logic, 24bit. Because it's uncompressed, and your video editor gonna make it an mp3, and then youtube will tamper with that mp3, so if you start with an mp3, It will get converted 1 extra time more than necessary. You certainly don't wanna convert an mp3 to another mp3.
the EAD10 doesn't sound like that at all... raw audio is a mess, the snare always gets lost under cymbals or the cymbals are lost under the bass. it's actually a trash little recorder. the app for android just doesn't work, and you CANNOT record directly to a PC without an expensive third party daw program and only a few of them are compatible. (hope you like Ableton)
Please explain me, is that needs 2 smartphone or only 1 ... I mean, 1 for minus drum music and the other for record video?? Can use android for doing that ??
Awesome job! This may be the best upfront no bs tech video I've ever seen, thank you!

wooooooooow the end product sounds sick
Hey! This is cool. Thank you for this instructional video. I'm planning to buy EAD10 in the near future.
LOL@ "where's my hat" ... excellent tutorial!
Very useful. thanks, man! You don’t take the og drums out from the song?

Hell yea!!!

Rec n share is a joke
Thanks for the video!
What settings do you use on the EAD 10? Like home much trigger, reverb?
Amazing video thank you for explaining the process with much clarity. Just wondering will the Yamaha ead10 be recognised when using video pad editor? I have windows. Thanks very much.
Thanks dude!

Hello, I have a question: shouldn't be better to get a drumless track to make a drum cover?
I was thinking the same. I’ve heard of an app named Moises where you can remove the drums (and other instruments). I think you can get your song of choice (off itunes etc) then drop to Moises. Remove the drums then drop it into GarageBand. Note, I saw one video where you might want to only reduce drums to 20% because if you go to 0% it may distort the song too much. Do you remove the original drum track so there isn’t any overlapping?
Will it work on a double bass set?
Nice job!
Thank you bro
Have a few questions. First, do you use plugins to make the drum track sound bigger and better after sending it to Logic? And for my second question, do you think it's possible to use other sound files like Steven Slate drums or EZ Drummer to have a better sounds than in the EAD?
I meant, triggering sounds from those software using the EAD triggers.
Hey man, there is about a .5 second delay when I plug the USB in as an interface. Any tips on fixing this?
Simple and straight to the point, thanks man! Definitely gonna look into an ead10 after this
Thanks for checking it out I’m glad it was useful!

the app is not functional really at all... it's a mess.
I was wondering how to add the song to cover trought the app
What cable is going from the EAD 10 to your MacBook?
Thank you
Great video
Thank you!!!
Yessss
My man!
Thank you!!!
Is it all the same exact process on iMovie?
When I connect my interface cord to my iMac it doesn’t read it?? Why is that I’ve been trying everything and all the chords and adapters are brand new so is my Imac

how do you tune your drums for EAD 10? Is it dampened?
No way i thought i was the only one using youtube to mp3. Idk how else other people get the track
What settings do you use for the EAD10?
the ones where you add in extra mics and triggers because the EAD10 is actual trash.
but no any copyright claims? do we need to pitch up or down the song?
covers of songs are fair use... stupid.
This is like the only thing he didn't discuss

Can an iPad be used to mix the drums on Logic Pro as opposed to a MacBook?
As long as you have the cords to get it recorded into your iPad then yes. There’s adapters for all that

Can you add more mics to the interface it comes with?
no.
Can u do it without the MacBook??with just an iphone??
Yep. Just get the cords to plug it into your phone
Great vid!

dam that's trash!!
Am I the only one wondering why you hadn’t just used Yamaha’s Rec’n’Share? 🤔🤦🏻♂️
